Stirchley may have been the overall Midlands winner but the list gave shoutouts to other locations in our part of the world. Honourable mentions included Knowle and Dorridge in Solihull, Market Harborough in Leicestershire and the Shropshire Hills.

00:00 The Sunday Times Best Places to Live list for 2024 has been announced, after a team
00:07 of expert judges travelled up and down the UK, leaving no stone unturned to find the
00:11 very best of the bunch, both overall and regionally too.
00:17 A regional winner for the entire Midlands was picked, and a West Midlands jewel chosen
00:21 for the crown, Sturchley, was the winner.
00:26 And this time, for the first time, the overall winner is in Scotland. Great schools, great
00:30 shops and the great outdoors all come together for the judges' favourite North Berwick in
00:35 East Lothian. It's also the first time a seaside town has come out on top.
00:39 The list, which has been running for 12 years now, looks at things like culture, transport,
00:44 school league tables, house prices, broadband speeds, access to greenery and vibrancy of
00:49 the high streets to decide on a winner each year. But with so many great places to be
00:53 in our region, do you agree with the judges' decisions?
00:58 Is Sturchley the best place to live in the Midlands, or would you have picked somewhere
01:01 else?
