00:00 Great to see the rain but we are a bit sick of the flooding everywhere.
00:05 How did you cope with the water levels and how high did it get?
00:11 Well the homestead we've got here is built around a little bit of a low-lying area and
00:15 that normally floods when you get heavy rain but it normally only comes up close to the
00:20 back of the house and I think looking at your aerial shot there, it's ended out sort of
00:27 half a kilometre in every direction now.
00:30 And it's still as high as that or has it gone down a little bit or has there been more rain?
00:35 Higher than when this drone shot was taken.
00:40 It's probably extended out about another 30 or 40%.
00:42 So how are you coping?
00:46 Look we're doing the best we can.
00:47 We're actually holed up in that house that you're passing over right now.
00:52 That's the only bit of infrastructure we've got that's above water still and it's probably
00:57 only half an inch above water now.
00:59 The water's actually lapping on the bottom of the floorboards.
01:02 So you're still there Jimmy but did other people evacuate?
01:05 Yes, so I had about six other Jackaroos on the station yesterday morning and when the
01:13 rain really started to get heavy and we were getting significant flooding, I got them to
01:18 walk out to the Trans-Australia Railway line where the railway workers managed to pick
01:22 them up and take them into Royal Inner Township which is only about 10km away.
01:27 But it would have been hard going walking there in that rain yesterday.
