Jimmy Anderson was presented with a painting celebrating his 700th test wicket with England

00:00 But there will be one moment on the 9th of March that will stand out for all of us.
00:05 Now, you were on the park being part of this, whether you were playing or watching,
00:10 it's very rare to see a piece of history play out that you know is never going to happen again.
00:15 And that is obviously James Michael Anderson, OBE.
00:20 It's a shame your dad's not here because being with him when you did that was remarkable.
00:26 But most records in sport are there to be broken. This is one that I don't believe will ever be broken.
00:33 All of you are playing at the highest level. There's nothing more you can do than want to play for your country.
00:40 That is in itself the pinnacle. But to leave a legacy is even more important, and that's what Jimmy Anderson has done.
00:48 A legacy which is extraordinary over 21 years.
00:52 And I feel incredibly proud and privileged to have witnessed it and to see that play out.
00:58 And to realise that everyone just beneath Jimmy has retired, so there's no way that record is ever going to be beaten.
01:05 And we just think, well, how do you actually mark the moment and do something to thank Jimmy?
01:11 There's going to be lots of ways in which we will do that on a more official basis.
01:16 But there was something that was playing out during the test that you would have seen.
01:20 And over the last 24 hours, I had to use my very, very best negotiation skills to ensure that something that was happening needs to end up in this man's hands.
01:31 So it took a little bit of doing, Jimmy, but this painting, I think you wanted to buy anyway, but now you don't have to because this is a gift.
01:42 And to a good tightline castrian, that's probably quite good.
01:46 The reality is this painting just solidifies that one moment.
01:52 He got you there twice, actually, taking the wicket.
01:55 And this is historic in every way.
01:59 And there's only one person that should ever own this.
02:01 So this is a small gesture on behalf of English cricket to thank you for everything you've done, for inspiring us,
02:09 for setting a legacy that no one is ever going to achieve again, and something for you to remember that moment by.
02:17 So it's with my great pleasure on behalf of English cricket to present you this.
02:21 [Applause]
