Qantas fined $250,000 and convicted for standing down a worker concerned about COVID-19 at beginning of pandemic

Qantas has been fined $250,000 and convicted for illegally standing down a worker at the beginning of the pandemic. The worker was an elected Health and Safety Representative who raised concerns about the risk of COVID-19 to staff cleaning aircraft from China.
