00:00 This is our commitment to young people. We value you. You are important. We will invest
00:09 in you and help you build a better future with all the chances and choices this brings.
00:16 But in return for these new opportunities, you will have a responsibility to take them
00:22 up. Under our changed Labour Party, if you can work, there'll be no option of a life
00:29 on benefits. Not just because the British people believe rights should go hand in hand
00:35 with responsibilities, but because being unemployed or lacking basic qualifications when you're
00:41 young can harm your job prospects and wages for the rest of your life. And this is not
00:48 good enough for our young people or for our country. Unlike the Tories, we will not let
00:55 a generation of young people go off track before they have even begun. Our goal is every
01:02 young person, earning or learning, with help to build their skills and careers and to manage
01:07 and improve their health. This is how we will grow the economy, transform opportunity and
01:14 give everyone a stake in our country's success.
