NAT GEO PRESENTS: FIT FOR A QUEEN IMMERSIVE FASHION SHOW, Showcasing emerging, female designers in celebration of the premiere of docu-series QUEENS.
National Geographic made a dazzling debut at New York Fashion Week (NYFW) in front of industry influencers, celebrities, tastemakers, and media. Their immersive fashion show, “Nat Geo Presents: ‘Fit for a Queen,’” celebrated the premiere of their upcoming docuseries "QUEENS"12. This captivating event took place at Moonlight Studios in downtown New York, and it was produced by a female-led team—naturally!
The three-act presentation featured animal-inspired designs by talented creators, including:
Theophilio
JéBlanc
Studio 189
Bed on Water
These visionary designers crafted custom looks that pay homage to the powerful female matriarchs highlighted in the docuseries. And let’s not forget the dazzling accessories:
Almasika and L’Enchanteur provided exquisite jewelry.
Téjahn Burnett contributed stylish footwear.
Models graced the runway, accompanied by dance performances and holograms of three remarkable “queens”: a lion, an elephant, and a brown bear—each featured in the series. The docuseries, narrated by the iconic Angela Bassett, premieres on March 4 and will surely captivate audiences with its exploration of animal matriarchs.

00:11 Faith, I think I've seen both of us when I say we never in a million years imagined ourselves on stage at New York Fashion Week over the four years we were making the series.
00:27 It is truly surreal, but we're so excited to be here, especially as part of Queens, which premieres March 4th on Nat Geo and is streaming on Disney+ and Hulu.
00:40 Thank you. I think it's safe to say that Queens is unlike any other wildlife production ever made.
00:49 For the first time, we flip the male-dominated natural history industry on its head with this series, a gripping, almost drama-like series about females in the natural world.

01:07 Including Faith, who if I could brag for a minute, is the first black woman to produce and direct a premium natural history film.
