00:04 Join us in our story on Saksi!
00:08 The authorities are now investigating the murder of some men seen on CCTV
00:19 who entered a manhole in Manila.
00:22 They are also looking for a connection to the termite gang.
00:26 Saksi is Mark Salazar, exclusive!
00:30 February 18, Sunday, past 8 in the evening in Herbosa, Tondo, Manila.
00:38 It seems like an innocent meeting of seven men,
00:42 but two of them went down the manhole while five of them were watching.
00:51 February 21, Wednesday, past 5 in the morning, two men went down the manhole.
00:58 On the same day, four men were caught on CCTV
01:04 who went down the manhole one after another.
01:07 We asked the captain of the place, "What's in that manhole?"
01:12 Our initial thinking was that it was a group of people who were digging tunnels.
01:25 That was our first thought.
01:27 Then at 12am, the alarm went off.
01:32 Then at 1am, the man came out.
01:35 We thought that they might have a different intention when they went into the tunnel.
01:45 When we saw the manhole,
01:49 the question was how did four people fit inside?
01:53 Just kidding!
01:54 The water was only 1 by 2 feet deep,
01:57 and the channel was only 2 feet deep.
02:00 The drainage in the middle was big.
02:05 I think you could stand on it.
02:09 There was a drainage that was built there.
02:11 You could stand on it.
02:13 It was as big as a bottle.
02:17 We saw on the CCTV that they fit inside.
02:20 So the center of the investigation was whether they were a termite gang
02:25 and the nearby pawn shop that was the target.
02:28 Because no one was caught in the manhole.
02:31 What they left in the underground was the only clue.
02:36 They used a steel container, hammer, and a chain pulley.
02:41 And the cable that had a copper wire bundle inside was recovered.
02:46 I think their target was only wires.
02:49 There was no cement, stone, or wall holes.
03:01 A few days away from the manhole was the old accessory box of the telephone company
03:07 that had a big cable that could run underneath.
03:10 Of course, there were also wires.
03:12 I am now gathering information from my fellow chairman
03:17 that they experienced such a kind of entrance to the drainage.
03:23 Their purpose was to target the wires, the abandoned ones.
03:28 This happened with the barangay's surveillance of their embezzlement.
03:33 For GME Integrated News, I am Mark Salazar, your witness.
03:39 Meanwhile, LRT-1 stopped their operation at 6 o'clock last night.
03:45 That was because three power substations were experienced by Pedro Hill and Blue Madrid stations.
03:51 The train that some passengers were riding stopped suddenly
03:56 and LRT-1 lowered them.
03:59 After almost an hour, the operation returned to normal from Baclaran to Fernando Po Jr. Station.
04:05 In the middle of the 1986 EDSA People Power Revolution,
04:12 some groups joined their call for "charter change."
04:16 Jun Venaracion is a witness.
04:18 Not only did some people call for the people power
04:25 to those who attended the mass at EDSA Shrine earlier.
04:28 They also said that it is important not to forget the people of EDSA
04:32 who were imprisoned under the 1987 Constitution.
04:35 That is why they followed their call for "charter change."
04:39 Charter! Charter!
04:41 When you claim, you celebrate, and you claim the victory of EDSA,
04:46 necessarily, the Constitution is included.
04:49 And the commitment and the commitment to defend it.
04:54 This removal from the anniversary of the People Power Revolution as an official holiday,
05:01 and yes, this "cha-cha" because the 1987 Constitution is the fruit of the EDSA People Power Revolution.
05:08 In fact, it embeds many lessons in our struggle against the martial law dictatorship.
05:15 This is a legacy that the Filipinos need to cherish and defend
05:23 against the current distortion of history
05:31 and those who want to end the catastrophic era in our country.
05:40 Women say no to "cha-cha"!
05:42 Those who gathered in the streets of Quezon City also opposed "cha-cha."
05:47 The government should be punished.
05:49 The people's commitment to their right to live,
05:55 to their wages, to their workers, to end the contractualization.
06:01 On Sunday, the very anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution,
06:06 a bigger rally will be held in Ayala Avenue.
06:09 The countdown is set on the day of the departure of former President Ferdinand Marcos Sr.
06:15 38 years have passed since this part of EDSA was fully occupied
06:20 by the Filipinos who opposed the Marcos administration.
06:23 The military rule was overthrown and democracy was restored.
06:27 But as time went by, the history of the events of 1986
06:32 slowly disappeared from the minds of the Filipinos.
06:36 Based on the data collected by GMA Integrated News Research in 2020,
06:41 more than 65% of the population of the Philippines
06:45 is still single or not yet born of EDSA People Power.
06:51 Based on the data collected 4 years ago,
06:54 it is possible that more people are still aware of EDSA People Power
06:59 through those who read, watch and listen to it.
07:04 We asked some young people, "What do you remember about EDSA People Power?"
07:08 One of the biggest contributions of EDSA People Power
07:13 is to have a strong heart,
07:15 to have the Filipino people fight against the wrongful administration of our government.
07:21 When you heard EDSA People Power Revolution, what did you think?
07:25 No entrance, sir.
07:28 Holiday?
07:31 Yes, sir. Holiday, sir.
07:32 So, to remind the youth the importance of historical events like People Power,
07:39 Teachers Dignity Coalition said,
07:41 it should be included in the high school curriculum.
07:45 For now, history is taught in elementary school.
07:47 School is the most important tool for history, for the study of our history.
07:56 Unlike last year, Malacanang did not declare this year as a holiday on February 25.
08:04 According to the Office of the President of October,
08:07 because the anniversary is on Sunday,
08:11 and it has a small effect to declare it as a special non-working holiday
08:15 because it is considered a day of rest for most of the workers.
08:20 However, they still have their respect for the commemoration of EDSA People Power Revolution.
08:26 For GMA Integrated News, Jun Veneration, your Saksi.
08:32 Batikos admitted Mariel Padilla's glutadrip session inside the Senate.
08:37 In an Instagram post that has been deleted,
08:40 Padilla showed that she did a glutadrip while Senator Robin Padilla was in the office.
08:46 According to Senate Committee on Ethics and Privileges Chairperson, Senator Nancy Binay,
08:52 Mariel is not a member of the Senate,
08:55 she needs to be looked after because she has an obligation to the integrity and reputation of the Senate and to health.
09:03 She is also responsible for Padilla's IV procedure because it was done without permission from the Senate Clinic.
09:11 Binay's DOH and FBA themselves said that it is prohibited and not safe to use glutadrip.
09:18 GMA Integrated News is still trying to get Mariel's panik.
09:23 Her husband, Senator Robin Padilla, is laughing at the issue.
09:27 But in a statement, he also asked to be looked after if he saw anything bad in his wife's post.
09:33 He has no intention to be rude.
09:36 The election watch groups are still campaigning that the MIRU system will not be hacked in the election of 2025.
09:45 Despite the rumors that some are trying to manipulate the results of their ballot.
09:53 Witnesses, Maki Pulido.
09:55 According to the report from the Komelec field offices,
10:01 there are personalities who are already talking to the ballot candidates in the 2025 elections.
10:06 The politicians are expected to replace the results of the automated elections in order to secure their victory.
10:14 The candidates for governor are being charged with P100 million, P70 million for congress and P50 million for mayor.
10:21 This is being spread in Visayas and Mindanao and there are several cases here in Luzon.
10:26 They are saying that they can do something.
10:28 They are talking to our provider.
10:30 Who is the provider that they are talking to?
10:32 We haven't been awarded anything last week.
10:34 After that, there are people who are talking to the Komelec, the Information and Technology Department.
10:39 Komelec will investigate this in the NBI but this is not new.
10:43 Since the elections were automated in 2010, there are already such things that were allocated to the politicians.
10:48 And whatever they say, it is impossible for the Komelec system to hack to change the results of the elections.
10:55 Our machines are not connected to any external whatsoever.
11:02 This is independent and therefore, it works on its own without any connection or cable, even if it is coming from outside.
11:08 So it is impossible for our machines to hack.
11:12 Our end-to-end encryption is high and that is one of the reasons why we are passing on our international certification.
11:19 Miru Systems is the winner bidder for the 2025 midterm elections.
11:24 Other election watch groups like Lentes are also against the election in Miru because the process has become transparent.
11:31 We are against the security, accessibility and efficiency of Miru Systems.
11:37 We are against it because there is still a safeguard in the process that is in place.
11:41 But Namprel hopes that the documents related to the investigation of Komelec,
11:46 the questions on the performance of Miru's machine in the elections abroad, will be made public.
11:51 When they did the checks and research work, they also have to share it with the public.
11:56 What are the things that you have turned that are saying that it is not true and that the measures against Miru are not important.
12:06 For GMA Integrated News, I am Mackie Pulido, your witness.
12:11 A loud bang is heard when some residents of Bayambang, Pangasinan,
12:18 are afraid of the security and the spread of stories on social media.
12:24 Witness, Claire Lacanilao of GMA Regional TV, One North Central Luzon.
12:33 Residents of Bayambang, Pangasinan, are afraid of something.
12:38 This is the story of 49-year-old Maria. Her real name is not known.
12:42 She was found dead at 3 am while her family was sleeping.
12:47 They were thrown by a loud bang on the door.
12:50 I woke up my daughter who was in grade four to check on her.
12:53 But she didn't get up immediately.
12:55 When she went out, she opened the door and saw no one inside.
12:59 As a precaution, they added more locks on their doors.
13:04 73-year-old Rodolfo was also afraid when he woke up to a loud bang on the door at 3 am.
13:13 I was afraid. I was afraid that there might be a bad intention.
13:20 I opened the door and saw what was happening on the other side of the barangay.
13:24 The incident spread on social media and it also scared other residents.
13:29 In an investigation by the authorities,
13:31 the person who was banging on the door at 10 pm was a resident from Karatig, a town that has a mental illness.
13:39 This person posted this on their Facebook page or their social media platform.
13:47 Other youths also ride on that story.
13:55 The officials of Bayambang are calling for the spread of misinformation on social media.
14:01 For Jimmy Integrated News, I'm Laird Lacanilaw of Jimmy Regional TV One North Central Luzon.
14:08 Your Saksi.
14:11 America achieved a great success in launching its first spacecraft in the month after more than 5 decades.
14:21 It was also the first to host the National Astronomy Week here in the Philippines.
14:25 But can astronomy be enjoyed even by those who don't have a budget?
14:29 Saksi, this is Jamie Santos.
14:37 Another giant leap for mankind.
14:41 In the first time in history, a private company launched a spacecraft in the month.
14:47 That is the first US spacecraft to be launched in the month after more than 50 years.
14:54 As part of its mission, various data were collected that could be used in America's plan to send people there again in the coming years.
15:04 Despite the mysteries of space, technology has already made a big leap.
15:09 Among them are the new devices like the James Webb Space Telescope that was launched in 2021.
15:16 But even here in the Philippines, the interest in astronomy is alive.
15:20 This National Astronomy Week, you can freely observe the stars, planets, and other things in the Astronomical Observatory.
15:29 Visiting the planetarium is also a good thing.
15:34 Despite the changing weather, which is caused by light and air pollution, the interest in stargazing can still continue.
15:41 Our only problem here is the constellations.
15:45 We can't see them.
15:48 So it's better if we are in the provinces, beaches, and mountains.
15:54 We can see the constellations.
15:56 That's why we visited the observatory that is being used by the moon and Jupiter.
16:01 It's humbling because we're part of something bigger.
16:05 God's creation is beautiful.
16:09 The one I met in the observatory has his own telescope.
16:13 This pandemic started his interest in astronomy and stargazing.
16:18 I would think of it as something you would want to explore.
16:22 It's like something you're curious about.
16:25 Especially that the mind is always curious.
16:28 It's a good thing that his family supported him in his interest because stargazing is an expensive hobby.
16:34 This telescope is like Php 26,000.
16:37 And that's like a discounted price.
16:39 It's quite an investment if you really want to dedicate yourself in astronomy as a hobby and as a career.
16:46 But for the hopes of the Astronomical Observatory weather specialist, Alan Alcaraz, it may not be an expensive hobby.
16:53 You can buy small telescopes online and in department stores.
17:00 If it's just a hobby, it's not that expensive.
17:03 Just come here.
17:05 It's free.
17:06 It's free. But if not, we only charge Php 25 per head.
17:10 For JMA Integrated News, Jaime Santos is your saxophone.
17:21 The energy is jampacked and intense.
17:24 But this is not an SOS.
17:26 That's the atmosphere in the concert last night of Jonas Brothers.
17:30 Full of nostalgic feels, they performed some of their greatest hits.
17:40 Like Hold On, SOS, and Love Bug.
17:44 Kevin Joe and Nick made the fans' high energy.
17:48 They said in a post, "Manila, you were loud last night."
17:53 In the other issue of Hiwalayan Bea Alonzo, Dominic Roque, Bea is back to work.
18:06 She was with Carla Abeliana who fought in the first day of the taping of Widows War.
18:12 According to Bea, so far so good was the first time she saw Carla.
18:17 Their first scene together was also light.
18:20 In the next days of taping, they are expecting a more heavy encounter.
18:25 They are both in the same boat.
18:27 In addition to Bea, they have full trust in the director of the series, Sig Dulay.
18:32 From Abut Kamay na Pangarap to Abot Kamay na Wishes.
18:37 Because of Gillian Ward's 19th birthday, a.k.a. Doc Annalyn,
18:42 she received a greeting from Abot Kamay Boys.
18:45 In an IG post, Ken Chan, a.k.a. Doc Lindon, greeted her very sweetly.
18:51 His wish is to grant all the wishes of the actress.
18:54 He also included in the greeting, the karaoke session of Gillian
18:57 of "Saving All My Love For You" by Whitney Houston.
19:00 Jeff Moses, who is a regan, was shown their friendship as a treasure.
19:07 Extra effort is Raheel Beria, who went to Gillian's house to surprise her.
19:13 He brought gifts, cake, and a cat named Jack.
19:18 Heart Evangelista is an empowered girl boss.
19:29 Because of her stunning look in Milan Fashion Week.
19:33 Heart's style is very daring while wearing her black bodysuit underneath a coat.
19:40 Heart is definitely a passionate fashionista in her black stockings and black boots.
19:45 She also got everyone's attention because of her fit physique.
19:49 Some of Heart's friends were inspired by her fashion style.
19:52 Her parents from Cebu City proved that swabbing moves are not for old people.
20:04 That's why their "P-Pop Idol" movement is trending on TikTok.
20:09 Let's watch.
20:10 Swabbing moves or dancing moves.
20:18 That's what 70-year-old Efren can do from Cebu City.
20:24 Not only for back-up, but also for front-act, his dance moves.
20:29 But the father-daughter dancing duo is incomplete
20:36 without his 25-year-old son, Engineer Ninja Labus.
20:40 You'd think that the two are P-Pop Idols who are dancing on TikTok.
20:47 But their energy is really exploding.
20:50 Swabbing moves.
20:51 And their swag is even more so because their dance moves have a kick.
21:02 Engineer Ninja's story started by posting dance videos in the middle of the pandemic.
21:08 Their exercise/banding session is being explained by netizens on TikTok.
21:14 Others thought that he was a dancer.
21:18 But Efren's father admitted that he was just teaching his dancing son.
21:22 And he's just enjoying it.
21:25 The problem is that you're dancing.
21:27 But the problem is that you're not dancing.
21:32 The father-daughter's father really proved that he's not just a kid with his swabbing dance moves.
21:41 Their dance cover has more than 8.6 million views and 1.1 million likes on TikTok.
21:53 Thank you, Igan, for your testimony. I'm Arnold Clavio.
21:57 I'm PR Kanghel for a bigger mission and a wider service to the country.
