00:00 >> And William Byron, a 26-year-old, you worked so hard in such a short period of time.
00:06 How does daytona 500 champion sound to you right now?
00:10 >> It sounds really damn good.
00:12 This thing is an awesome crowd coming out.
00:15 I have so many emotions.
00:18 Obviously hate what happened on the back stretch.
00:19 I just got pushed and got sideways.
00:21 But just so proud of this team.
00:24 Exalted team, 40th anniversary to the day on Monday.
00:30 Extremely blessed and thankful for all the opportunities.
00:33 Now we just want to keep it going.
00:35 We have a lot to prove this year.
00:37 This is a good start, obviously.
00:40 Daytona 500, it's freaking awesome.
00:42 Let's go.
00:43 >> William, you have not had a good track record here.
00:46 Never even finished in the top ten.
00:48 What was the difference here tonight in getting yourself positioned to be there at the end?
00:52 >> I don't know.
00:53 Just really good strategy.
00:54 We obviously laid back and tried to save fuel for most of the race.
00:58 We would get up there at the end of the stages and make some moves.
01:02 I see boss man coming up here.
01:05 Just thankful for great power under the hood.
01:07 All of our partners, Chevrolet, everybody that allows us to do this.
01:12 I'm just a kid from racing on computers and winning the daytona 500.
01:17 I can't believe it.
01:18 I wish my dad was here.
01:19 He's sick.
01:20 But this is for him.
01:21 We've been through so much.
01:23 We sat up in the grandstands together and watched the race.
01:25 This is so freaking cool.
01:27 >> Go see your boss right there.
