00:00 Hi, I'm Paul Wilson and I'm the musical director of the Royal Oakley Silver Band from Blanus for Stimniog.
00:07 A very famous slate and quarry band, I think it's about 60 years old now.
00:13 So I'm inviting you today to attend a concert at the New Year's Weaver Theatre in Belly on the 2nd of March at 7 o'clock.
00:25 And we're going to be playing music to celebrate St David's Day.
00:28 Also, we're paying tribute to a local celebrity, or a local musician in fact, Mr Wim Williams,
00:35 who's been involved in brass bands and educating children for over 50 years in the area.
00:42 And he's retiring this year so we're doing a nice tribute for him as well.
00:48 So yeah, please come along and support the band and hopefully raise much needed funds for the Wales Air Ambulance.
00:55 Tickets price to £10 each and are available from the theatre either online or by telephone or actually in person.
01:04 We'll also be featuring a young lady, a local young lady, she's called Clicky Grawer.
01:11 And she's appeared on SBC, certainly during the big airs in Stedford and also in Loss and Clowen.
01:20 So she's very, very well known and she's a great future helper and I'm really looking forward to working with her.
01:27 A lot of the music we're playing will be from stage and screen.
01:30 And Clicky will be singing 'I Dreamed a Dream' from Les Mis with the band, so we're very excited about that.
01:36 And also there'll be a couple of surprise items, another singer, but I won't tell you who that is just yet.
01:42 We're also playing a lot of music from Rocky, James Bond, Thunderbirds even.
01:50 How about a bit of Tina Turner and even a bit of Saturday Night Fever.
01:54 So there's a massive selection, a lot of Welsh melodies of course, in St David's Day.
02:00 And yes, the band have been working very hard to prepare for this concert and we hope you can come and support us.
02:07 And enjoy the evening of entertainment. Thank you very much.
