00:00 How would you approach the third or the third safety if you're the Steelers?
00:04 I would bring Casey back.
00:06 I mean, I think Casey is really reliable.
00:08 Um, I mean, except for when he's getting suspended, but, um, that's a, but I think
00:13 for the most, man, we love him.
00:14 Yeah, we do for real.
00:15 I like, I, I actually genuinely really like Casey as a player.
00:19 Um, I think that he'd be a very good backup.
00:22 I think he knows the system.
00:24 I think he's cheap.
00:25 Um, and I think he produces when he is on the field.
00:27 So I think my, my first instinct would be to bring Casey back.
00:32 Um, and as it is like a backup, I feel like that's a perfect role for him, you
00:37 know, like, don't, don't give him too much.
00:38 And I think that's where, you know, you start to notice some of the inconsistencies
00:42 with DeMonte Casey, but you know, if he's backing up on Eddie Jackson or, uh, or I
00:46 mean, if it's Patrick, who let's, you know, you brought up the 12 games over the
00:50 past two seasons for Eddie Jackson and, uh, Mink has had his injured concerns
00:54 last year as well.
00:55 So I feel like having a guy like Casey, I think is still starting quality, you
01:00 know, like how, you know, to what degree he's starting quality, I think is the
01:04 question, but I think to have a guy who's starting quality, uh, as a backup for you
01:09 is always, always a luxury and always a good thing to have.
01:12 I agree.
01:13 I agree.
01:13 There's a total difference between starting 17 games and starting four.
01:17 And if you could rely on like you, Casey's a guy you could rely on for four.
01:21 I think I'd go the same way.
01:23 I like Casey as that third guy.
01:25 I thought he worked really well when it was him and Terrell Edmonds and make a
01:30 Fitzpatrick as that one, two, three punch a year ago.
01:34 I thought that was the perfect mix.
01:35 The Steelers didn't really have that.
01:37 Like they wanted Keanu Neal to be that third.
01:39 I don't think he ever turned into that third or like as reliable as they hoped
01:42 he would be.
01:43 You take a step forward.
01:44 You allow Casey to be that third.
01:46 I think that fixes a lot of holes.
01:47 I also don't think people are going to be like, Oh, that's a bandaid.
01:49 That's a bandaid.
01:50 Maybe.
01:52 But if you could get Eddie Jackson for two years and Casey for another season,
01:55 you know, you could go find the replacement next year and not have to
01:59 worry about this isn't a bandaid.
02:00 This is a veteran starter who plays the safety position.
02:04 And that's like, there are a lot of teams in the NFL that approach the safety
02:07 position by going and getting a veteran.
02:10 You know, there's a lot of guys who waited out and sign that cheap tire on
02:13 Matthew or whoever to say, Hey, this is a guy, you know, that we could rely on
02:18 into a starties and a position that you want a veteran, you want somebody who's
02:22 proven, I think it's not abandoned.
02:24 I think it's, it's just a way the NFL works.
