00:00 Hi, I'm Digital Reporter Amy Seddon, bringing you the latest news from across the North
00:08 West.
00:09 Police have confirmed that human remains found at an industrial estate in Lancashire last
00:14 week are believed to be a man's.
00:17 Police were called to report that remains had been found on land near Marsh House Lane
00:20 Industrial Estate in Darwin at around 12.25pm last Wednesday.
00:25 A cordon was put in place following the find and a large emergency service presence was
00:29 reported in the area.
00:31 On Friday, police confirmed they were still at the early stages of an investigation and
00:35 enquiries were ongoing to find out who the remains belonged to.
00:38 However, on Tuesday morning, they gave an update saying the family of the man they believe
00:43 it to be have been informed.
00:47 TV star Lorraine Kelly paid a visit to Liveham on Monday to launch her new book.
00:52 The 64-year-old Scottish-born broadcaster held a literary event at Fylde Rugby Club
00:57 on Monday afternoon to launch her debut novel, The Island Swimmer.
01:01 Set to be released on February 15th, the book is Lorraine's first fiction tale, having previously
01:06 published five non-fiction books, and is inspired by her passion for the Orkney Islands and
01:11 its people.
01:13 To promote the book, Lorraine, who is best known for her weekday show on ITV but has
01:17 also presented programmes including RuPaul's Drag Race, Have I Got News For You and The
01:22 Paula Grady Show, took a trip to Fylde Rugby Club and met with fans from across Lancashire.
01:30 More than 40 people have been rescued since the weekend due to being caught out by the
01:34 spring tide in Morecambe Bay.
01:37 Base Search and Rescue said their patrols around the bay have seen their teams walk
01:41 at least 40 people to safety over the course of the weekend and Monday, and have also helped
01:46 stricken vehicles to safety.
01:48 A spokesman for Base Search and Rescue said, "Anyone who comes and visits the bay and its
01:53 beaches, inlets and coves will know just how quickly the tide not only comes in, but also
01:58 immediately after that first wave of water, how quickly it fills.
02:02 Over the course of the weekend and also Monday, we have had some big spring tides.
02:06 Unfortunately, the tide has always caught a number of people out and has probably devalued
02:11 a few cars which were left whilst people went for a walk.
02:14 Our patrols around the bay have seen our teams walk at least 40 people to safety over this
02:18 period who simply were caught out by the speed and height of these tides.
02:23 And also we have assisted a number of stricken vehicles to safety.
02:26 If you see people in difficulty around the bay and on the coast, please dial 999 and
02:31 ask for the Coast Guard.
02:32 They will task the most appropriate team to assist."
02:37 Two Wigan schools are among more than 200 across the country which will have blocks
02:42 rebuilt or other work carried out to remove collapsed risk concrete.
02:47 The Department for Education has published details on how it will permanently remove
02:50 reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete from all the affected schools and colleges across
02:55 the country.
02:56 It had previously been thought that no schools in Wigan Borough contained the crumb and concrete,
03:00 but it has since been found at Dean Trust, Rosebridge and Atherton St George's CofE
03:05 Primary School.
03:06 A total of 234 education settings in England have now been identified as having wrack in
03:12 some areas of their building.
03:15 Burnley Aerospace giant Safran Nacelles has officially unveiled its upgraded factory.
03:23 The opening ceremony was attended by a number of notable local dignitaries including Mayor

03:51 growth and employment in the local area.
03:54 And now for the weather.
03:56 Across Lancashire it will be cloudy with the odd bit of rain after lunch and in the evening.
04:02 However, it will be mild with the average temperature being 11 degrees both throughout
