Transcript
00:00 Hi, I'm Kingsley Ben-Edir.
00:01 I'm Ziggy Marley.
00:02 And I'm Ronaldo Marques-Green.
00:04 And this is Behind the Photo with Billboard.
00:06 Remind me, I mean, I went upstate,
00:13 they did such a detailed job at it.
00:15 It's a nice moment though, it was really like,
00:17 it was one of those simple moments that I guess wasn't,
00:21 I don't know if that was in the script.
00:22 No, the rest of it was in the script, with them.
00:25 Yeah, it was just organic, yeah, all of that stuff.
00:27 Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:29 They all just ran at me.
00:33 And so it was just a really nice, really nice moment.
00:36 Next.
00:38 I love this photo.
00:39 Remember this one?
00:39 Trench Town.
00:40 Trench Town.
00:41 The whole community lifting us up there, huh?
00:43 Yeah, yeah.
00:44 A lot of fine details that day,
00:46 just about the car and how Bob drove.
00:48 And like, I remember Stephen was telling me
00:52 that Bob drove the car in a really specific way.
00:54 You know, he wasn't, he rags the car up.
00:57 You know, Bob really, he controlled the car, you know.
01:01 I don't know if you guys know,
01:02 but there was some stuff going on before.
01:05 Yeah, in the community.
01:07 Yeah, yeah, yeah.
01:08 But when we came in,
01:10 It settled down.
01:10 It settled down.
01:11 It was quiet down, and it's been kind of quiet since then.
01:13 You know, so.
01:14 Nice.
01:15 Really cool.
01:16 What about this next one here?
01:17 Faye, Faye Ellington.
01:18 I mean, how interesting she was to our production.
01:22 Faye, who, that one, young Bob.
01:24 Young Bob.
01:25 We had a lot of fun.
01:26 When I wasn't there.
01:27 [laughing]
01:30 No, when Kimmy comes, I see this, man.
01:33 This is where we do this.
01:34 Marcus Garvey Drive, right?
01:35 Yeah.
01:36 Is that where they're singing now?
01:37 It's where we did "Simmer Down."
01:38 Yeah.
01:39 "Simmer Down."
01:40 Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
01:40 That's one of my favorite scenes in the film.
01:41 Yeah, I've seen that.
01:42 When they do that.
01:43 There's a tenderness to those guys,
01:45 and innocence.
01:46 Yeah.
01:47 They really brought that.
01:48 I love this picture.
01:49 Yeah, I know.
01:50 56 Oak Road, end of our movie.
01:52 This was in the final week.
01:53 We were talking about the noise outside.
01:55 [laughing]
01:56 I remember looking at that very serious photo,
01:58 but obviously the moment was winding down.
02:01 I was struggling to find,
02:04 the scene was, there was something so simple
02:06 about the scene that I couldn't find it.
02:09 I remember just feeling stiff,
02:11 and then you and Michael had a conversation,
02:15 'cause it was on me first.
02:17 And then Michael came in and just did something
02:19 that was completely different,
02:21 and it threw me in a good way.
02:23 Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
02:24 And then I understood what the scene needed to be.
02:26 Yeah, yeah.
02:27 Which was to reassure and protect him.
02:30 Yeah.
02:31 It was not about me.
02:32 Okay.
02:32 And I was like, I wouldn't have found that if, you know.
02:34 And I love the end of that scene
02:35 when the little boy comes in and says--
02:37 Is he?
02:38 Yeah, little Ziggy comes in and says,
02:40 "Who was that?"
02:41 Who was that?
02:42 Just the man comes to his father.
02:43 Yeah, he doesn't want to go see his father.
02:45 And that was Behind the Photo with Bill Ward.
02:47 Make sure you check out One Love, February 14th.
