00:09 My name's Phil Parker and I am the features writer for British Rail Modelling Magazine,
00:14 the organisers of the Doncaster Model Railway Show.
00:17 Now this show has been going on for, getting on for 30 years.
00:21 It takes place here at the Doncaster Racecourse every year.
00:24 Incredibly popular, queues round the block.
00:28 We bring you at least 30 model railway layouts from around the country every year,
00:33 plus 60 of the best traders, because everybody likes a bit of retail therapy.
00:38 And we bring them all into one place this weekend every year.
00:44 It's very much not a dying hobby. Ignore all the dooms that they do to people.
00:49 There are people coming in, there are more people coming into shows,
00:52 there are more people spending money, there are more manufacturers coming into the hobby as well,
00:57 they wouldn't be coming into the hobby if it was a dying hobby.
01:00 But the most important thing is, if you look at these people, they're here, they're having fun,
01:04 they're building their model railways, this is a real source of pleasure for people.
01:10 And their passion and enthusiasm is what's driving this forward,
01:14 and why it's very much not a dying hobby.
