00:00 >> Obviously, the guy to my left is one of the best,
00:04 if not the best wide receiver in the game, Terrell Owens.
00:07 >> Terrell, yep. >> Terrell Owens, sorry.
00:08 >> It's all good, yep, yep.
00:09 >> How we feeling, baby?
00:10 >> Man, I'm good, man.
00:11 Just here, just doing radio roll here on behalf of M&M's.
00:15 We shot the commercial back in December.
00:17 It's been teased, little excerpts of the commercial been teased
00:22 throughout the last couple of weeks.
00:24 And then they did the reveal, I think, yesterday morning.
00:26 >> Okay.
00:27 >> Got the full cast on there.
00:29 So they got to see the other surprise guest, which was Scarlett Johansson.
00:34 So got a chance to shoot the commercial with her.
00:37 And the premise of the commercial is that we're almost champions.
00:41 It's almost kind of like a backhanded compliment in a way, you know what I mean?
00:44 But I got a chance, obviously, fellow Hall of Famers and Dan Marino, Bruce Smith.
00:48 And like I said, and I'm a peanut butter, I'm an M&M's fan.
00:52 >> Okay.
00:52 >> But obviously with this campaign right here, it's peanut butter.
00:55 >> Yes. >> Gotta love some peanut butter M&M's.
00:57 And so again, I got a chance to work with Scarlett Johansson, which is good.
01:00 >> Yeah, that's good.
01:00 >> Which is great, actually.
01:02 I've seen a few of her movies.
01:04 >> Yep, yep. >> But she's phenomenal.
01:05 >> She kicking people's butts.
01:07 Let's talk about kicking butt for the Super Bowl.
01:09 Obviously, you got the Niner Gang on, bang, bang, Niner Gang.
01:11 >> Yep, yep.
01:12 >> So obviously, there's been some talk about Brock Purdy-
01:15 >> Yeah. >> Being either a game manager or
01:17 game changer.
01:18 What do you have to say about that?
01:20 >> It doesn't matter because he's playing in the Super Bowl, game manager.
01:24 What was the other one?
01:25 >> Game changer.
01:26 >> Game changer, game manager.
01:28 It's kind of all the same.
01:31 Like I said, every game is different.
01:32 >> Yes. >> You do what's best for the team.
01:34 >> Yep. >> And some quarterbacks are relied upon
01:38 a lot to win games.
01:40 That's if you don't have the necessary weapons.
01:42 But again, this guy has an offense full of weapons.
01:45 So that's what you do.
01:46 That's what you want a quarterback to do, is not to do too much and
01:49 not to do too less.
01:50 And so again, when you have a receiver in weapons like he does,
01:54 you put the ball in their hands and let them do what they do.
01:57 In certain situations, when it's kind of like fight or flight,
02:00 in his situation, I think it's so crazy for it to even be a discussion.
02:04 I heard Cam talk about it.
02:06 I hear other commentators, analysts, analyzing this guy's game.
02:11 To be called Mr. Irrelevant, be drafted Mr. Irrelevant.
02:14 >> Yes. >> And now guess what?
02:15 Being relevant in the biggest game of his career.
02:18 >> Yes. >> Considering last year,
02:20 wasn't able to finish the game.
02:23 Now come full circle, hopefully the outcome is a bit different.
02:26 >> Yes. >> And if he plays like he can play,
02:29 and obviously the defense plays like they need to play.
02:32 Because they haven't played particularly well the last two games.
02:35 Against the Green Bay Packers, the Rush defense,
02:39 Paz defense, and against the Detroit Lions.
02:42 But they know this game right here, like I said, they may not get there again.
02:46 Every year is different.
02:47 Fortunately for them, they have enough weapons offensively and
02:50 defensively that they are back where they need to be.
02:54 And that's knocking on the door of winning that Lombardi trophy.
02:56 And so hopefully they can do that.
02:58 >> Okay, so you talked about the weapons that Brock Pardee has.
03:00 >> Right. >> So let's talk about a little bit of
03:02 a comparison to the weapons that Brock Pardee has versus the weapons that you
03:06 guys had when you were playing, it was you and Jerry back in the day.
03:09 How would you compare those guys?
03:11 You with them?
03:13 >> I mean, we're a little bit more dynamic.
03:16 I would say not to take anything away from those guys.
03:18 You look at Debo, Debo is very versatile in what he can do.
03:22 I don't think I could play receiver and running back.
03:25 But again, it depends on how you utilize Debo.
03:28 I'm sure I don't know how he would categorize himself.
03:31 Is he a running back?
03:32 Is he a receiver?
03:33 >> Yes. >> He's a guy that's a tweener that can,
03:35 for me, when you do those two, he's an athlete.
03:38 >> Yeah. >> And when you got an athlete in high
03:40 school, that's what you do.
03:41 You put the ball in the best athlete's hands.
03:43 And he's unfortunately, fortunately for the San Francisco 49ers,
03:47 that's a good problem to have for him.
03:48 But you obviously got Brandon Iyuk, obviously playing aside George Kittle.
03:54 >> Yeah. >> He's a great tight end.
03:55 >> Yes.
03:56 >> When you have those dynamics and
03:57 now you got a quarterback that obviously that understands and knows how to get the
04:01 ball and distribute the balls and get the ball in your hands when need be.
04:05 Then that's a recipe for greatness.
04:08 But when you think about what we had, Jerry, myself, JJ Stokes,
04:12 I mean, you think that the running backs we had, Garrison Hurst,
04:17 Charlie Garner and those guys.
04:21 Again, we winning the Super Bowl.
04:23 >> Y'all are so tough.
04:24 >> We winning, we came up short.
04:25 Obviously, we had honestly, we had a Super Bowl caliber team.
04:29 I just don't think while we were playing, we had a Super Bowl caliber coach.
04:32 >> Okay, that makes sense, okay.
04:35 >> Look at what you have with the 49ers today.
04:37 Obviously with that team, you got a Super Bowl caliber coach, Cal Shanahan.
04:40 >> Yes. >> He's utilizing those weapons,
04:42 best that they can.
04:44 >> Okay, so let's talk about Patrick Holmes.
04:46 If he somehow finds a way to beat the Niners,
04:50 where does he etch himself in the history books?
04:52 >> I mean, he's etching it, I mean, he's greatness.
04:55 I mean, what he has two Super Bowls already?
04:57 >> Yeah, this is his fourth appearance.
05:00 >> Fourth appearance, I mean, that says a lot in itself.
05:02 And I think I played 15 years, only got to play in one.
05:07 And I willed myself to play in that one.
05:09 If I didn't, I would have never played in the Super Bowl.
05:12 So it's fortunate for him.
05:15 I think the best thing that happened to him was Andy Reid.
05:17 >> Yeah. >> And I got to play with Andy Reid in
05:19 my only Super Bowl.
05:21 So sometimes, like I said, you need the right people to press the right buttons
05:26 and the right people to be in your life.
05:28 And for him, it's the head coach Andy Reid,
05:30 who is my favorite coach of all time of my 15 years of playing football.
05:35 He utilized me to the best of my ability, and
05:37 that's what he's doing with those guys on the offensive side of the ball.
05:39 Look what he did to Tyreek Hill's career.
05:43 >> Yeah. >> When Tyreek Hill was considered sort
05:45 of like a specialist, a slot guy.
05:47 >> Yeah, he's a guy.
05:49 >> Yeah. >> He's a guy.
05:50 >> Like I said, he's that dude.
05:51 >> He's that dude.
05:52 Okay, so let's talk about this.
05:53 I know you raced against Ty, but we ain't gonna talk about that right now.
05:55 >> No, he's fast.
05:56 Yeah, he's fast, but I'm fast too.
05:58 >> I know you still got the juice.
05:59 I know you still got the juice in you.
06:01 I know you still got the juice.
06:02 But let's talk about this real quick.
06:03 So you did mention you played in one Super Bowl.
06:06 >> Yep.
06:06 >> With Philly.
06:07 Let's talk about the night before the game.
06:10 What did you do to prepare yourself mentally?
06:13 I know we had the leg stuff going on, but what did you do?
06:15 Did you get any sleep?
06:16 Talk to me about that, man.
06:18 >> Every day, every night before the game, in that hotel in Jacksonville,
06:23 I was in my hyperbaric chamber.
06:24 >> Yep. >> Sleeping.
06:25 >> Yep. >> Peacefully.
06:26 >> Yep. >> I was already prepared,
06:28 knew that once I got on the field that I was capable of doing what I had to do.
06:32 Like I said, I'm a big believer in God, my faith.
06:35 Like I said, with the injury that I had sustained,
06:37 it was the highest in the most sustained sprain.
06:39 I had two screws and a plate in my ankle.
06:42 I had a break in my fibula.
06:44 And so again, doctors across the country gave me no chance to play in that game.
06:49 Me believing in who I am and what I could do, understanding and
06:53 trusting the preparation that I put into this game.
06:57 That was year nine for me.
06:59 I knew, and the training staff, who's the training staff, the head trainer,
07:02 who's the head trainer for the Kansas City Chief.
07:05 >> Okay. >> And Rick Berkholder.
07:06 >> Okay. >> And his staff, Eric Sugarman,
07:09 those guys, Chris Padozzi.
07:11 They pushed me and I pushed them for me to get back on that field that day to do
07:15 the impossible, the unthinkable, the unbelievable.
07:18 >> Okay, Terrell Owens, ladies and gentlemen, T.O., the best receiver of all time.
07:23 >> What's up? >> One of my good buddies.
07:24 See y'all next time.
07:25 (whooshing)
