Gotta go fast! Join Ashley as we look over the speediest characters in anime
Transcript
00:00 Welcome to WatchMojo and today we'll be counting down our picks for the anime characters who
00:10 are either known for speed or else are deceptively quick.
00:23 Number 10 - Zenitsu - Demon Slayer - Kenmetsu no Yaiba
00:27 Zenitsu is a cowardly Demon Slayer who lacks confidence in his own abilities most of the
00:33 time.
00:34 It takes falling asleep or being unconscious for its true potential to awaken.
00:43 While all the Demon Slayers use breathing techniques to give themselves superhuman abilities,
00:48 Zenitsu is the most dramatic.
00:50 His thunder breathing allows him to move at superhuman speed.
00:56 He may have only mastered one of its forms but he's polished it to such a degree that
01:01 he doesn't need any others.
01:03 His lightning fast attacks are enough to make short work of weaker foes and quick enough
01:08 to defeat even upper rank demons, with some help of course.
01:12 It's too bad Zenitsu will never know how cool he looks.
01:24 Number 9 - Luck - Black Clover - Electricity Themed Speedsters - Sparky Powerhouse
01:37 Specialising in lightning magic, Luck is always looking for a fight and is often seen smiling
01:43 with a sociopathic glee at the prospect of duking it out with someone.
01:54 Most of the time, Luck's battles don't last long.
01:57 By coating his limbs in lightning, Luck can increase his speed to an incredible degree.
02:02 He once went so fast he went through one of his opponents.
02:06 We're just glad he's part of the Black Balls.
02:13 Number 8 - Meruem - Hunter x Hunter - The King of Chimera Ants, Meruem is possibly the
02:19 most powerful being in Hunter x Hunter.
02:31 Even moments after he was born, the monstrous monarch quickly kills two of his fellow ants
02:36 before anyone can react.
02:38 In a fight against Netero, one of the strongest humans, Meruem is faster, except against Netero's
02:44 signature move and even then he catches up.
02:48 At the peak of his power after devouring parts of his subordinates, Meruem gains the power
02:53 of flight, allowing him to fly at supersonic speeds.
03:04 He even moves so fast that at one point it looks like he's teleporting.
03:09 Meruem is truly the king because he rules.
03:24 Number 7 - Koro-sensei - Assassination Classroom - The Ultimate Assassin, Koro-sensei is also
03:31 an amazing teacher.
03:39 Also a yellow octopus man made of antimatter, it's the last of these that gives him the
03:45 supernatural speed.
03:46 In addition to being immune to most weaponry and able to regenerate what few injuries he
03:51 does receive, Koro-sensei can move around at Mach 20, which is over twice as fast as
03:57 the fastest aircrafts in the real world.
04:04 Not only does this let him dodge bullets, but he can also use speed maraushes to give
04:09 each of his students individual teaching sessions simultaneously.
04:13 It's also handy if Koro-sensei just wants to jet around the world for a quick snack
04:17 or vacation.
04:21 Number 6 - Nice - Hamatora
04:35 One of the detectives in the eponymous agency, Nice is a carefree guy, just as his name suggests.
04:41 However, get on his bad side and you'll regret it.
04:56 He possesses a holder ability which grants him the power to manipulate and move along
05:01 sound waves, essentially giving him the power to move at the speed of sound.
05:06 He activates this by snapping his fingers, although it's limited by how far the sound
05:11 of his snapping fingers travels.
05:15 There's a good chance that if his enemy hears him, they'll soon be on the ground.
05:33 Number 5 - Kizaru - One Piece
05:42 Borsellino is a marine admiral with the alias Kizaru, and likely the fastest person in the
05:48 One Piece world.
05:56 Like many characters in the series, he ate a devil fruit which gave him a special ability.
06:02 This particular power allows him to become and generate light.
06:10 In addition to creating powerful laser beams, Kizaru can use his ability to travel at the
06:15 speed of light.
06:17 This gives his physical attacks some unbelievable power, and lets him run rings around the many
06:22 powerful pirates he must contend with.
06:24 When you go that fast, no wonder he likes to take his time.
06:36 Number 4 - Whis - Dragon Ball Super
06:39 Whis is the attendant of Lord Beerus, the God of Destruction for Universe 7, the home
06:44 dimension of the Dragon Ball universe.
06:47 However, he's also Beerus' teacher and claims to be the fastest being in their universe.
06:54 Able to travel through space without a spaceship, Whis can travel at least faster than light.
07:11 The angelic attendant is easily able to not only fight speedy opponents like Goku and
07:17 Vegeta simultaneously, but he does so easily.
07:20 He even takes out Beerus himself, like he's an unruly child.
07:24 We're betting we haven't seen the peak of his power yet.
07:27 We're betting he goes all out for pudding or something like that.
07:35 Number 3 - Sonic - Sonic X
07:38 That's right, Sonic is in an anime too.
07:46 Sonic X showcases the blue blur in his fight against Dr. Eggman.
07:51 While the show is certainly not without its flaws, Sonic himself is just as swift as his
07:56 video game counterparts.
08:03 The hedgehog manages to run faster than real world animals as well as a rocket-powered
08:07 car.
08:08 He's even faster than lightning, and that's not even taking his supersonic form into account.
08:20 The theme song made it abundantly clear that Sonic has got to go fast, and he certainly
08:26 delivers.
08:27 Number 2 - Sho Kusukabe - Fire Force
08:30 The younger brother of series protagonist Shinra, Sho has grown up apart from his sibling
08:35 and under the wing of a cult.
08:49 Cooled and calm under pressure, Sho can keep up with speedy opponents even without his
08:54 powers.
08:55 But with them, Sho is borderline broken.
09:06 Like nearly all the abilities in Fire Force, Sho's abilities are heat-related.
09:11 He essentially takes heat away from the entire universe, which makes time appear to stand
09:16 still for everyone but him.
09:23 In doing so, Sho moves faster than light, and creates time dilation zero.
09:28 Basically, the boy breaks the laws of physics ten times over.
09:43 Number 1 - Saitama - One Punch Man
10:02 There are many speedy individuals in the world of One Punch Man, and while speeder-sound
10:07 Sonic may like to think he's Saitama's rival, the ninja just can't compete.
10:18 Saitama is his world's strongest hero, not that most people know it.
10:22 In addition to being strong enough to defeat anyone or anything with a single punch, Saitama
10:28 is also absurdly fast.
10:37 In his fights with several characters, Saitama moves so fast, he leaps after images.
10:43 While that's hardly unique among speedy characters, the real illustration of his speed
10:48 comes when one foe knocks him into the pool, and Saitama returns to Earth in mere seconds.
10:59 If there's a speedy anime character you wish had made it over the finish line and
11:04 onto our list, race down to the comments and let us know.
11:19 Thanks for watching!
