Skin cancer experts want health authorities to crack down on what they're calling "rebranded sun beds". Queensland health is investigating the legality of collagen beds or collariums machines marketed as being safe and giving users a longer lasting tan. Commercial sun beds have been banned in Australia since 2015.

00:06 UV light that damages the skin. So if you get a tan, that is a sign of skin cells in
00:16 trauma responding to the radiation. So these are not safe. We actually strongly recommend
00:24 broad spectrum sunscreens and they're what is approved and regulated in Australia because
00:30 there is no safe UV narrow band. So it's a ruse. They're trying to mislead and action
00:38 does need to be taken. Pleasingly, we have legislation regulations in all states and
00:44 territories that cover the use of solariums and tanning devices that do cover these devices
00:53 as well. I'm sure investigations are underway. The legalities will be checked, but certainly
01:00 it is my understanding on looking at these regulations myself that these calarium operators
