00:00 Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the Top 10 Superhero Games
00:12 that have nothing to do with Spider-Man or The Dark Knight.
00:15 Let's give the other heroes the spotlight for once, eh?
00:25 Number 10 - The Incredible Hulk - Ultimate Destruction
00:36 The best way to go about making a Hulk video game is to just let the player go.
00:40 Let them run around, cause mayhem, smash things, roar, thunderclap, and all the fun things
00:45 that make the Hulk an unstoppable force.
00:47 This is precisely what Ultimate Destruction did.
00:50 Well, sort of.
00:53 While still linear in design, Ultimate Destruction gave you a wealth of abilities and objects
00:57 to smash as you fought against soldiers, mechs, and more.
01:01 Why we haven't gotten another game like this is anyone's guess.
01:10 Number 9 - LEGO DC Super-Villains
01:18 For a time, the LEGO games were suffering from some serious fatigue.
01:22 Give it to LEGO DC Super-Villains to give it a good shot in the arm.
01:25 Whereas other LEGO games saw you playing as the hero, Super-Villains saw you play as baddies
01:29 like Lex Luthor and the Joker as they fought against an imposter Justice League.
01:34 Not only that, but you could customize your very own Super-Villain with a multitude of
01:37 abilities AND they had a role in the story where they would earn even more powers.
01:42 Combine this with a digestible and fun open world, and you have yourself one of the best
01:46 LEGO games ever made and one of the best superhero games ever made.
01:57 Number 8 - Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2
02:05 We would love to have put the first Marvel Ultimate Alliance on this list, but when looking
02:09 at the original two games, the sequel did things way better.
02:13 For starters, you have a compelling take on the Civil War storyline that was almost like
02:17 having two games in one as you played one faction or the other.
02:20 Then you have the ability to mix powers between heroes to deal a ton of damage to enemies.
02:25 That mixed with the improvement in writing, animation, controls and technical performance
02:29 is what made MUA 2 such a fun romp.
02:38 Number 7 - Deadpool
02:47 The Merc with a Mouth had gone on way too long without a video game.
02:51 So when the Deadpool game finally became a reality, we were hooked.
02:55 Just about everything featured is what we could want in a Deadpool game.
02:58 The hack and slash combat mixed with third person shooting, the teleport and parry mechanics,
03:03 the profanity, the dumb gimmicks like blowing up a bouncy castle, the brutal nature of your
03:08 attacks - it's enough to make any fan cry tears of joy, which is why it is so heartbreaking
03:13 to know that the game is not commercially available at the time of this video.
03:23 Number 6 - Infamous 2
03:28 Honestly, you can have a blast playing any of the Infamous games.
03:35 The first game, Second Son, Festival of Blood, First Light - they're all spectacular.
03:40 But why does the second game get the spot here?
03:42 Well, it's in how they tied karma closer to the combat.
03:46 Good and evil karma can grant you access to unique abilities that can change the way you
03:49 play the game.
03:50 In other words, you have a good excuse to play the game a second time and shoot for
03:54 the powers you didn't get to play and see the other ending.
04:05 Number 5 - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - Shredder's Revenge
04:08 Look, we're playing loose with the superhero angle and just shooting for classic comic
04:20 books, but Shredder's Revenge really is worthy of being here.
04:23 For years, Turtles in Time was THE TMNT game to end all TMNT games.
04:28 But after playing Shredder's Revenge with its massive multiplayer support and deep arcade-y
04:32 combat system, it takes the crown, no questions asked.
04:36 Not only does it evoke the same tone and fun as the older TMNT games, it also comes with
04:41 plenty of game modes to keep you playing and replaying.
04:44 You get a ton of bang for your buck, and it never gets stale.
04:52 Number 4 - Marvel's Midnight Suns - The Abbey
05:01 Just because it utilizes cards does not mean you should stick your nose in the air and
05:05 turn it away.
05:06 Marvel's Midnight Suns is absolutely fantastic in the most unexpected ways.
05:10 For half of the game, you get to explore the Abbey, uncover its mysteries, and hang out
05:14 with some of your favorite heroes to unlock new moves or passive abilities.
05:18 As for the other half?
05:19 It's battles where you have to make the most of limited moves to pull off devastating attacks
05:23 and bring down HYDRA.
05:24 On top of that, the DLC that adds in Deadpool, Venom, Morbius, and Storm is incredibly fun
05:30 as it introduces brand new mechanics that you can carry over into the base game.
05:40 Number 3 - Viewtiful Joe
05:47 Thought we were limiting things to Marvel and DC primarily?
05:50 Well, we'd be remiss if Viewtiful Joe wasn't on here.
05:53 Yes, we know the game can be grueling to brand new players as it does not play like other
05:57 beat 'em ups, but once you get a grasp of the controls and open yourself up to the challenge,
06:01 good lord is it fun.
06:03 Viewtiful Joe is a pure adrenaline rush as you pummel dudes with stylish attacks and jam
06:08 out to an incredible soundtrack.
06:09 Capcom, what's going on?
06:11 Why isn't this available to play on modern hardware?
06:20 Number 2 - Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy
06:33 It is a real crime how many dismissed Guardians of the Galaxy because of the embarrassing
06:36 failure that was Marvel's Avengers.
06:38 We get that many folks wanted to play as their favorite Guardian whether it was Gamora, Rocket,
06:43 Drax, or Groot.
06:44 However, what Eidos Montreal did here was stellar.
06:47 We'll admit that the humor isn't for some folks, yet the combat, set pieces, and exploration
06:52 are why it's worthy of your time.
06:53 There's a ton of satisfaction in commanding the Guardians and pulling off hard-hitting
06:56 attacks in perfect execution.
06:58 Please, if you haven't, go give this a shot.
07:06 Before we reveal our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions.
07:10 X-Men Origins - Wolverine
07:11 A bad movie gets an excellent game?
07:14 Who would have expected that?
07:24 The Wonderful 101
07:26 Odd in concept, fun in execution.
07:34 Superman - Shadow of Apocalypse
07:36 Simple but worthy of the Man of Steel's presence.
07:45 South Park - The Fractured But Whole
07:47 It's the funniest superhero game you could play.

08:10 Marvel vs. Capcom 2 - New Age of Heroes
08:19 Funny how superheroes make up half of the game.
08:21 Even so, there is no denying that MVC2 is the best superhero game out there.
08:26 We know Spidey is in it, but the spotlight is shed on more heroes than just him.
08:30 If you want a team of Captain America, Venom and Cable, you can do that.
08:33 If you want Hulk, Psylocke and Doctor Doom, you can do that.
08:37 Or if you want Magneto fighting alongside Jill Valentine and Mega Man, guess what?
08:41 You can do that too.
08:42 Every combination of characters available to you can lead to new play styles.
08:46 The world is your oyster here and it's why it gets the top spot for us.
08:56 What do you think is the best superhero game not featuring Batman or Spidey?
