Outriders Classes are a very important part of the game. While they all are based upon types you'd recognise they have important tweaks. For example while the Devastator is basically a tank the class also has some great manoeuvrability if you upgrade it right.

00:00 Outriders is a fun game but when it comes to picking a class the game doesn't give
00:06 you much information or time to play around before you're forced to choose a class you're
00:11 locked into.
00:12 Each class falls into some archetype you'll be familiar with like a tank but each have
00:17 little tweaks that you should be aware of.
00:20 We've got Harry at PC Gamer to run through each class you can choose to ensure you make
00:24 the right choice for how you like to play.
00:30 The Devastator operates as the tank so it's a great class for soaking up damage with its
00:34 chunky health bar.
00:35 Don't worry if you take a few knocks in combat, the Devastator can also recover health from
00:39 nearby slain enemies.
00:41 You unlock the Golem skill quite early which lets you shrug off 65% of damage for 8 seconds.
00:47 Gravity Leap is also fun to use as it launches you into the air so you can smash into an
00:50 enemy from across the arena.
00:52 You have plenty of opportunities to deal lots of damage as the Devastator and thanks to
00:55 your additional health and armour you won't be going anywhere.
01:00 While playing as a Pyromancer is pretty enjoyable you may find it a tough path to solo.
01:05 Marking enemies with fire skills like Heatwave and then killing them to restore health recalls
01:09 Doom's frantic resource management but consider taking a tanky Devastator in with you if you
01:13 can.
01:14 Feed the Flames is one of the first skills you'll get to try and it lets you pull an
01:17 enemy towards you so that you can deal damage and drain some of their health.
01:21 If you're looking for something a little more explosive Thermal Bomb will see your enemies
01:24 explode and damage others if you manage to kill them quickly enough.
01:31 The Technomancer is Outrider's support class.
01:33 It's the only one that can heal other squad members rather than just themselves.
01:37 Again you won't want to solo this one.
01:39 This is for super powered soldiers that like to hang back and pick off targets from a distance.
01:44 The Technomancer's long range weapon Damage Boost helps with that nicely.
01:48 This class also makes use of gadgets to deal extra damage.
01:50 You can place a turret for some extra firepower and watch as it freezes your enemies in place.
01:55 Make sure you save your Scrap Mole skill for larger groups to make the most of its blast
01:59 radius.
02:01 Playing the Trickster takes the most skill but it can be the most powerful path in the
02:05 right hands.
02:06 The fun starts when you get up close and personal with your enemies as some of your abilities
02:09 can slow them down and temporarily freeze them.
02:13 Some of your early skills like Temporal Blade can take down low level enemies almost immediately
02:17 or a slow trap covers an area of effect so that you can focus on neutralising a group
02:21 swiftly.
02:22 If you want to fully embrace the role of the Trickster, equip the Hunt the Prey skill to
02:26 teleport behind an enemy and catch them off guard.
02:29 This is also helpful for moving around the arena quickly to avoid feeling overwhelmed.
