00:00 Back to our stories.
00:02 Today's story is like a chicken lentil soup.
00:06 We underestimate everything.
00:09 Our country is extremely beautiful.
00:11 We realize this when foreigners, tourists come to Pakistan and tell us how beautiful Pakistan is.
00:20 How delicious the food is and how good the people are.
00:26 They express their happiness when you praise their country.
00:29 People from all over the world come to Pakistan to see these views.
00:34 Whether it is the beautiful fields or the beautiful mountains.
00:38 Pakistan has beautiful weather and everything.
00:42 And what about the food?
00:44 What about the food and hospitality?
00:46 I have heard that Faisal has a vlogger who is from Poland.
00:50 And she wants to go back to Pakistan. Is that true?
00:54 Yes, it is true. When you come to Pakistan and drink tea in the mountains,
01:02 people say that they don't want money.
01:09 She is a travel blogger from Poland.
01:19 You can watch her videos. She is enjoying her time in Pakistan.
01:24 She is recreating how safe Pakistan is for female and solo travelers.
01:31 Gautam Giridh is with us now.
01:36 We welcome her because she is from Poland.
01:41 Welcome to the show.
01:50 Welcome Gautam. Welcome to Pakistan and to our show.
01:54 Thank you. Thank you for welcoming me.
01:58 I want to say it in my language. Welcome.
02:01 Thank you.
02:04 Gautam, how are you finding Pakistan? How are the people?
02:11 How long have you been traveling? How many days have you been here?
02:15 I have lived in Pakistan. I moved here last year.
02:19 I am doing my business here. I live in Islamabad now.
02:24 I found Pakistan as a very beautiful country.
02:27 Rich culture, beautiful people, which are very nice to us, especially to tourists.
02:34 So far, my experiences are very good.
02:37 How long have you been in Pakistan? I heard that you know some Urdu words as well.
02:43 Can you speak in Urdu?
02:45 I can also say like "cholo", "jaldi cholo", "mujhe kofik", "pinahe".
03:01 So there are some words. I am learning Urdu now.
03:06 That is so brilliant. Very impressive.
03:10 So, Gautam, which cities have you visited till now?
03:15 So far, I have visited Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Sialkot, Bahawalpur, Multan, Gilgit, Faisalabad, Karimabad, Muzaffarabad, Peshawar.
03:33 Can you tell me, I heard that you want to stay here.
03:39 So what did happen and when did you decide that you are not going back? Is it so?
03:46 Yes, that's true. I moved to Pakistan last year.
03:50 I am the owner of a travel agency and I am bringing nowadays European tourists to Pakistan,
03:55 which I am finding as a very, very good opportunity to soften the image of Pakistan,
04:00 to change the view of Pakistan on European market for European people, which is very important.
04:07 Now I feel it's like my mission. And it's a growing business. It's going very good.
04:12 So here, my stay in Pakistan is also very important, not only for my personal development,
04:18 because I found Pakistan as a country with many great opportunities.
04:23 I also would like to start other business here, because I am also a PhD in pharmaceutical science.
04:29 Maybe one day I will open a chain of pharmacies here in Pakistan, because it's related to my main profession.
04:38 So I have many ideas what to do in Pakistan, what to bring to Pakistan, like from Europe.
04:45 And that's my new way of life.
04:48 So, Gosia, that means you feel absolutely safe being a female traveler in Pakistan.
04:54 What message would you like to give to the world?
04:56 I want to add one thing more. What were your impressions about Pakistan earlier,
05:00 when you didn't visit here, when you didn't come over here?
05:05 And now what has changed over the course of one year?
05:09 Yes, my first impression, of course, what is shown in Western media, that it's not a safe country.
05:15 Of course, it's not good to travel, for example, alone.
05:18 But my impression here, of course, changed when I came here first time.
05:23 It was 2022, and that was the moment when I got a very good impression of the country.
05:28 And I realized that the people are very nice, especially to me.
05:33 And, for example, when I travel alone, they are always ready to help me.
05:37 I was traveling between many cities here in Pakistan by plane, by bus, by cars.
05:44 And everywhere when I was alone, people were eager to help me if I needed any help.
05:51 So that was a very great experience, which sometimes you don't even experience in Europe.
05:56 In Europe, you are more like alone with everything.
05:59 And here, people were really very nice to me.
06:02 And what do you like the most? What about the food?
06:05 Do you like our food? And which food do you think must be your favorite?
06:11 My favorite so far is biryani. I like so much the flavor of biryani and paratha.
06:18 And also golgappa. I love golgappa and biryani too.
06:22 And since you have mentioned that you have visited both Karachi and Lahore,
06:26 please tell us, Karachi's biryani is the best. Please go on. Please say it.
06:30 I was living in Karachi for a few months, so yeah, I can say that.
06:35 Because there's always been a huge debate between Lahoris and Karachiites,
06:39 whose biryani is the best. So you have decided that Karachi's biryani is the best. Right?
06:45 Yes. Authenticated.
06:48 So again, you visited from south of Pakistan to the north of Pakistan.
06:54 You visited the coastal beach. You visited the northern mountains.
06:59 Pakistan has got loads of potential.
07:02 What still Pakistan as a tourism industry, in your view, has to do to engage more and more tourists?
07:11 Especially I think it can be some improvement by the government.
07:16 When it's going about the infrastructure, about the hotels,
07:20 that there can be more and more hotels with better equipment and hot water, electricity,
07:29 infrastructure of the road.
07:31 So there are some of these things too which can make it easier to travel and even stay for European tourists.
07:36 Because in Europe, you know, the people have very high demands.
07:41 So when they came here, sometimes they are asking me many questions.
07:45 What about this? What about the hot water?
07:47 So I think this could be easier for travelers in the future,
07:51 and especially also safety in the country, like stabilization.
07:55 So it's also very important for politicians to give a good message, like to not have any problems.
08:02 The image of the country should be, of course, like a stable country, a safe country.
08:08 So this is the most important for tourism.
08:11 A very, very positive message.
08:13 Gershia, you want to give some message to the people who still haven't visited Pakistan.
08:20 Do you have anything in mind to tell them?
08:23 They should come to Pakistan.
08:26 And it's very important to change our point of view, to have a broadened mind.
08:32 And Pakistan gives the best memories.
08:36 It's my best trip when I came here in 2022.
08:39 Like mountains were calling me, and I still remember this.
08:43 And this is something that stays in your mind forever.
08:46 So Pakistan gives you an impression like no other country in the world.
08:51 So, so sweet of you.
08:53 Thank you so much for coming on our show and lovely chatting with you and meeting with you.
08:58 Thank you.
08:59 Thank you.
09:00 Thank you so much.
09:01 Thank you again.
09:02 I liked it.
09:03 It's been a year.
09:06 It's been a year since she learned.
09:08 It's so great that people are coming from abroad and improving the image of Pakistan.
09:15 Now it's up to us to keep our country clean and good.
09:21 So that our beauty can be enhanced.
09:27 We have good people, good natural scenery, everything is good.
09:31 If we work on our infrastructure, on our roads, on facilities, then a lot can be improved.
