00:00 The search for Supergirl is on! We've learned that Millie Alcock, best known for her work on
00:04 HBO's Game of Thrones spin-off House of the Dragon, as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen and
00:09 Meg Donnelly, who starred in Disney Channel's hit musical franchise Zombies, have both screen-tested
00:14 for the role in Atlanta. Screen tests took place yesterday with DC Studio bosses James Gunn and
00:20 Peter Safran present and the field now narrowed to two. Supergirl is a key part of the DC plan
00:26 as they piece together their slate. The character will first appear in James Gunn's Superman Legacy
00:31 with David Cornswet as Superman before headlining her own movie Supergirl Woman of Tomorrow.
00:36 Gunn detailed Supergirl's story in a video released on social media when the slate was revealed
00:42 in January of 2023. "Supergirl in this story, she is a character who was raised on a chunk of
00:49 Krypton. She watched everybody around her perish in some terrible way, so she's a much more jaded
00:55 character." Other characters who had been in the mix earlier were Kaylee Spaney, the star of Priscilla,
01:00 and Emilia Jones, the star of Coda. For more updates on this casting head to THR.com.
