00:00 Our top story tonight is going to take us to the south where we're warming up but we now have a
00:04 flash flood threat. We saw flash flooding yesterday near Austin, Texas. Now the flood threat has
00:09 shifted east and I'll tell you what here folks, we've got a very slow moving upper level low
00:14 pressure system which is just going to wreak havoc across east Texas and eastward as we head through
00:20 the next couple of days. So we're not even close to being done with this flooding event. Here's a
00:24 look at the radar picture. You see a fetch of moisture stretching from yeah southeast Texas
00:29 between Houston and Dallas and San Antonio all the way up into areas around St. Louis. So some
00:34 major areas are being impacted here with heavy rain and thunderstorms. We've also had a lot of
00:39 flash flood reports here across portions of east Texas and up into Arkansas as well. You see them
00:45 flashing those flashing green polygons and of course we've got some thunderstorms in here too.
00:49 A few of these storms could produce some not just flooding downpours between Houston, Dallas,
00:55 Austin and San Antonio in the coming hours but also some gusty winds. You know we have another
00:59 weather hazard out there folks. I want to show you a dense fog advisory is in effect for the
01:04 second straight night for much of the center of the nation. Now this includes places like Dallas
01:08 and DFW airport just said they've got a ground stop. They've got too much fog in Dallas to bring
01:13 the planes in or out so that's a big problem for us. Weather delays all over the place here from
01:18 Chicago southward. I mean fog is one of the worst conditions you can have when you're trying to fly.
01:24 You have to be able to see. Now we also have a lot of flood watches and warnings as you might
01:28 imagine. It's been a very rainy day here from the Texas coast into east Texas and all the way up
01:34 into the Tennessee valley. Flood watches continue because we're going to have another couple of
01:38 rainy days to come. I mean we are sitting here on Tuesday night and through Thursday at least
01:44 there'll be a zone here from the Texas coast all the way up to the lower Mississippi valley and
01:49 even the Tennessee valley where we will have frequent downpours, flash flooding and big-time
01:54 travel disruptions. The rainfall forecast is still formidable. If you're in the yellow here over the
01:59 next several days that's at least two inches, orange is at least four inches. There will be
02:03 pockets of well over that as we move forward in time. The rainfall forecast here includes some
02:08 rain that has already fallen which started on Sunday night and it lasts through Thursday night.
02:12 This darkest green shade here has expanded a bit. That's the 8 to 12 inch zone here folks.
02:18 That is way too much rain. Even though you're into drought it'll be beneficial in that sense but we
02:23 know we're going to have big-time flooding concerns. Now here's a wide view of the radar.
02:27 Again you see the flash flood warnings firing off here between right around the Arklatex.
02:32 I'm going to be watching for some heavy rain into Memphis tonight. Some of these storms from
02:37 tonight, tomorrow and tomorrow night could be severe. We've got some risk of flooding, hail
02:42 and even a few tornadoes. So to go along with that flood threat and water over the roads we're also
02:47 going to be having to watch out for the the severe thunderstorm aspect of this situation.
02:51 Wednesday's forecast, yeah some of the same areas getting hit hard with the heavy rain and the
02:56 thunderstorms. Fast forward to Thursday the rain moves a bit farther to the east so Texas will dry
03:02 out by Thursday the way it looks now and Friday there will be some lingering rain around the
03:07 southeast U.S. New Orleans it's not going to be very easy to navigate there for the next few days.
03:13 A lot of rain.
