00:21 "I don't feel like leaving this place. I feel like staying here. I don't want to go home.
00:31 Ramlala has been seated at the Ajotya Ram Temple. We are very happy. We have been here since
00:36 8th. We have been here since 8th. We don't want to go home. We want to stay here. We
00:41 are very happy. Very happy."
00:42 "My heartbeats have increased. We had no hope that we would be able to see him like
00:46 this. I have come to this place. I cannot express it in words. You can say that you
00:53 are emotional, but you cannot express your emotions. That is the feeling inside."
00:58 For decades, the temple site in the city of Ajotya was bitterly contested by Hindus and
01:03 minority Muslims, leading to nationwide riots in 1992 that killed 2,000 people.
01:10 India's Hindus say the site is the birthplace of Lord Ram and was holy to them long before
01:15 Muslim mughals raised a temple at the spot to build the Babri Masjid, or mosque, in 1528.
01:23 In 2019, the Supreme Court handed over the land to Hindus and ordered allotment of a
01:29 separate plot to Muslims where construction of a new mosque is yet to begin.
01:37 "The work that our ancestors, for the past 500 years, were not able to do, we are experiencing
01:46 heaven while living by seeing you."
01:51 The temple opens to the public on January 23rd, and its management expects 100,000
01:57 visitors each day for the next few months.
