Browns GM Andrew Berry loved having Joe Flacco in Cleveland and he wouldn't close the door on him returning, but recognizes there are lots of market factors at play.

00:00 >> You mentioned Joe Flacco, just your takeaways on how he played and
00:05 I guess going forward, given all you guys had to deal with at the quarterback
00:10 position, have you reevaluated maybe just that roster spot as a priority?
00:15 The backup quarterback?
00:17 >> Yeah, so starting with Joe, Tom, Joe, he played winning football for us.
00:23 He did a great job of coming in and
00:27 really playing at a high level that allowed us to go on a run at the end
00:31 of the year, play really good football in December.
00:35 Even if maybe we ended a little bit with a thud against Houston in the wild card
00:40 round, but really pleased with what Joe did on the field,
00:43 pleased with who he was as a teammate.
00:46 In terms of the quarterback room, we've always valued the quarterback position.
00:51 And I think probably if you look at our history over the last four off seasons,
00:56 we've always been towards the top of the league in backup quarterback,
00:59 expenditures or resources, whether it was case for the first two years.
01:02 Obviously, Jacoby last year, and
01:05 then even this year coming into the year with Dobbsy and Dorian.
01:10 So it's something I believe that backup quarterback really is a top 30
01:14 position on the roster, Tom.
01:17 And we do believe in carrying three and
01:19 that's something that we'll probably do moving forward.
01:24 >> So directly, will you bring Joe Flacco again?
01:25 >> Look, I should say this, I should start by saying this.
01:28 We'd absolutely love to have Joe back, he's a good quarterback.
01:32 But I guess maybe a little bit similar to Jacoby last year,
01:38 it really depends, right?
01:40 Like I wanna bring all of our good players back, but
01:44 there are constraints to that.
01:48 I'm really kind of both sides of the aisle, but
01:50 I would have no problem having Joe back.
01:52 >> The plan, would the plan be, if you don't bring Joe back to be the shot as
01:56 the starter to DTR as the number two guy?
02:00 >> It's probably too early to say, Jake, honestly, we're a week after the season
02:04 and we'll go through the roster.
02:06 And part of it does depend on availability and cost.
02:09 What I can give you is, I think it's fair to say that we'll have three
02:13 quarterbacks on the roster.
02:16 What that looks like can be a little bit variable just based on how the marketplace
