00:00 The filmmakers behind Freaky Tales are opening up about working with the late Angus Cloud in
00:04 one of his final roles. The Euphoria actor, who died at age 25 in July, is posthumously on screen
00:11 at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival in the feature film directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck.
00:17 Freaky Tales sees Pedro Pascal play a soon-to-retire fixer and is set in 1987 in Cloud's
00:22 native Oakland. Fleck told The Hollywood Reporter of Cloud prior to the festival,
00:26 "He's got the Bay Area accent. It's important that we had some people that talked that way
00:31 in the movie." Boden added, "We felt really lucky to have gotten him in the movie."
00:34 The filmmaking duo had seen Cloud's work on Euphoria as Fezko, a drug dealer with the heart
00:39 of gold. In Freaky Tales, he plays Travis, a would-be burglar in the film's neo-Nazi gang.
00:44 Boden said, "He cared so much about the role. Even in the most tense moments on set, he would bring
00:49 this different energy and help break the tension. He ends up bringing this very specific, very Angus
00:54 energy to the role. He totally transforms it from something that could be a very average role that
00:59 you don't think that much about into something that has a very specific life to it." Freaky
01:03 Tales premiered on January 18 in Park City. For THR's interview with the Freaky Tales cast and
