00:29 I'm very happy to be here. We were here in the summer where it was a bit warmer but this play area is absolutely fantastic.
00:37 Unfortunately we can't let our children play like I did with mine and children do learn through play so it's absolutely marvellous.
00:46 And it's great that they've got the grounds to be able to do it.

01:15 Okay, so how does the facility early years outdoor area open today and just how is it going to benefit the children?
01:20 It's brilliant. It's been a year in the making from the very beginnings of the design.
01:27 We've worked with an excellent team from Newby. We've been thrilled from the very beginning
01:32 and are delighted to see the children accessing the area in the way that we had always hoped would be the case.
01:38 In terms of the impact for our school, really it's a flying start.
01:42 It's ensuring that the youngest children are provided with the very best as we want for all of our children.
01:48 In particular we know how very important those early experiences are.
01:51 So in terms of having an impact really in future years, this will continue to provide a flying start for the youngest children in our school.
01:59 It's been a financial investment which you can imagine is certainly by no means insignificant
02:07 but we know this money has been well invested. It's invested in the children and why shouldn't the children at Ristred Avenue be provided with the very best possible outdoor spaces.
02:16 We're really excited. Governors are thrilled. The staff team have been delighted with the outcome.
02:22 The children, their laughter and the way in which they're engaging with the space has just been phenomenal.
02:27 We are really, really excited. It's been brilliant to have the Mayor join us this morning.

02:38 and something which at this time of the year when it's a wee bit chilly, something to celebrate.
