00:14 Coming back for season two of "The Playboy Murders"
00:22 was really special to me, both as a host
00:24 and an executive producer, because there were so many more
00:27 stories within this world that we wanted to tell.
00:29 Everything from really famous cases,
00:31 like the Dorothy Stratton case, to cases I hadn't heard of,
00:34 and even a few cases that involved people I knew.
00:37 So it's really close to home, and it's a much deeper
00:39 dive than even season one.
00:41 The murder was immediately a humongous sensation.
00:44 One of the stories we're covering this season
00:46 is the story of Dorothy Stratton.
00:48 It's a very famous case, but we wanted to dive even deeper
00:51 into it than ever before.
00:52 When Hugh Hefner has a master plan for you,
00:55 you do what he tells you to do.
00:57 He saw what all of us saw, this sweet little magical being
01:01 with a big heart.
01:02 She was a Marilyn Monroe type and needed
01:07 someone to protect her.
01:08 Her very rapid rise to stardom triggered jealousy that ended
01:13 up as the ultimate tragedy.

01:17 He didn't see it coming.
01:19 Didn't see it coming.
01:22 I think these stories need to be shared, especially
01:24 the unsolved ones, because hopefully new leads can come
01:27 up.
01:28 He didn't care about what Hugh Hefner did, thought, or said.
01:32 All he was focused on and obsessed with was Sandy Bell.
01:37 A black Mercedes SUV was found completely engulfed in flames.
01:42 There were two bodies in the passenger seat
01:44 of this Mercedes SUV.
01:46 Both victims had gunshot wounds to the back of the head.
01:51 I think altogether, it just makes you realize
01:53 that life is short and stay close to your loved ones.
01:57 I love working with ID because they're
01:59 incredibly detailed and sensitive in the way
02:01 they tell these stories.
02:02 I enjoy watching all their programming,
02:04 and I think we're telling the stories in a way that
02:07 gives the facts and being able to work with IDs
02:10 such an amazing opportunity.
02:14 Everybody will find something relatable about one
02:16 of the cases, but it's also fascinating, too,
02:18 because you're seeing people go through different careers
02:21 and different lifestyles.
02:22 That many people haven't experienced.
02:24 The man at the door was none other than Charles Manson.
02:28 The Playboy murders are haunting.
02:30 The people who murdered her friends
02:31 were out to get her.
02:32 Intriguing.
02:34 We have no idea who Mr. Big is till to this day.
02:36 And sadly, unforgettable.
