Birmingham World reporter Charlie Haffenden's post-match thoughts from Birmingham City 2-1 Hull City in the Emirates FA Cup third round replay.
Transcript
00:00 Birmingham City are through to the FA Cup fourth round to take on Leicester City away from home after beating Hull City 2-1 at St Andrews Stadium.
00:09 A freezing cold St Andrews Stadium may I add and I'm very relieved that did not go to extra time.
00:14 It looked like it was going to but Koji Miyoshi off the bench had other ideas.
00:18 Got a goal and also not quite an assist but a shot that was rebounded to Jay Stansfield to equalise for Blues.
00:25 It was 1-0 to Hull in the first half, it was a bit of a sloppy goal to concede really, Christian Bielik not dealing the ball over the top
00:32 and it was played out from wide into the area for a tap in, John Ruddy had no chance.
00:37 Probably the better side Blues in the first half in terms of chance creation but they couldn't quite hit the back of the net,
00:43 there wasn't enough quality with the final shot, the final ball.
00:47 Second half, a very slow start to it all but then about 15 minutes in or so Tony Mowbray made five substitutions.
00:55 A quid and tuplet which is something you don't really ever see in football let alone here at Birmingham.
01:01 It's very risky because if there's an injury that's not a concussion then what are you going to have to play with ten men if there's two?
01:07 Well nine men but it did change the game, it was worth the risk in the end for Tony Mowbray.
01:11 Slight concern at one point for Juninho Pucuna as he went down but only a spot of cramp for him
01:16 and Jay Stansfield as I say got the first goal, a very good finish after Miyoshi's shot,
01:22 he took it into his stride, flicked it up and fired it into the roof of the net.
01:26 Blues were kind of the main side attacking for the rest of the second half, Hull had the odd counter attack here and there
01:31 but not really threatening too much and then Miyoshi was the man to get the winner.
01:35 A bit of good fortune as he tried a shot, scuffed it at first, it rebounded into the floor,
01:40 up to him a few yards out and he put it just beyond Matt Ingram in goal to make it 2-1.
01:46 Not many fans here tonight, 7,000 but to be fair I say not many, that's a decent turnout
01:50 considering how cold it is and it's a Tuesday night for an FA Cup third round replay.
01:55 But I think the most important thing is a confidence boost, Tony Mowbray's first win here at Birmingham
02:00 and of course getting through now to the fourth round of the FA Cup.
