00:00 None of that subway train derailment the second in less than a week. Today's derailment happened just afternoon on the F line in Coney Island.
00:06 And while no one was hurt, ten hours later it is still causing major headaches for subway riders.
00:10 Let's get the latest now from Fox 5's Kendall Green.
00:13 Train cars, this time on the F train, stood stuck on a bridge it couldn't get over Wednesday evening.
00:19 Another one.
00:20 That was your honest reaction?
00:23 That was my honest reaction.
00:24 This train operator shaking her head after another day of trouble on the tracks.
00:28 Even though she wasn't involved with this latest mishap.
00:31 It happened just afternoon when the F train derailed heading northbound into the Neptune Avenue station in Coney Island.
00:38 With about 37 customers and crew members on board.
00:41 We heard a jolt and I was like oh my god I hope that's not nothing going on with the tracks.
00:47 Come to find out the third and fourth car, the third one derails and the fourth car is hanging on the side.
00:56 Thankfully this passenger nor any others were injured.
00:59 As the MTA investigates what went wrong, the focus they say so far is on the train's tracks.
01:05 The track needs to be straight in order for a train to run on top of it safely and without a slow speed derailment as we had here.
01:13 The MTA reported checking the conditions of this particular track back in November and found no significant issues.
01:19 After this derailment they had to backtrack.
01:22 We'll get to the bottom of this. I realized that we had issues obviously last week as well.
01:26 They say issues from this derailment aren't connected to last week's collision on Thursday.
01:31 Where an out of service northbound one train ran into another train with 300 on board.
01:35 Just north of the 96th Street station on the Upper West Side.
01:39 Byers though wearing her hat as a passenger and train operator hopes her higher ups can get some stronger solutions on the rails.
01:46 There's a process for safety and they should be looking into why trains are derailing. Why was there a collision?
01:55 The MTA tells us their plan is to have service restored by rush hour early Thursday morning.
02:00 That's the latest from Coney Island, Kendall Green, Fox 5 News.
