00:00 Could you tell me what school in Sheffield you went to and what your fondest memories are of it?
00:04 Yeah I went to Castle College, it used to be called Castle College, now it's called City College.
00:08 So my memory about it was pretty good because I remember they looked after very well with
00:17 my teachers there because at that time I was new in the country I can say, so my English
00:24 language wasn't that brilliant but yeah I got support I needed to succeed my course.
00:29 Tell me please what school in Sheffield you went to and what's your fondest memory?
00:35 Hamilton County Junior School in Darnham and it was a nice local school so we knew everybody
00:44 because they all came from the surrounding area.
00:46 Could you tell me what school you went to in Sheffield please and what your fondest memory was
00:51 of it? Yes I went to Whitby Road in Darnham, my fondest memory...
00:57 I can't really remember. Were there any good events that you enjoyed there whilst you were there?
01:05 I remember going to the park, High Hazel's Park, joined on a skipping rope all together,
01:10 that was quite fun. Was that during the school day? Yes. Oh fantastic.
01:14 My favourite tea... Tell me what school you went to in Sheffield and what your fondest memory
01:20 was? Coleridge Road. What was your fondest memory there?
01:25 Games. Oh no, it were good, it were. You know it were better for teachers and that.
01:38 You had more respect for teachers and they showed you more, do you know what I mean?
01:46 There used to be cookery lessons, what they don't do now. Games, needlework, all things like that.
01:52 And when you listen to children now, they don't do all that. They don't.
01:58 So they were my favourite, you know, favourite memories. Tell me what school in Sheffield you
02:06 went to and what your fondest memory was? I went to the Herry School. My fondest memory was we had
02:11 a big air dome which was like a sports hall and it was very unique, no other school in Sheffield
02:16 had got one. And it felt rather special to be, you know, to do your... I played volleyball at school
02:22 and it felt rather special to be, you know, somewhere like that. It was like an occasion
02:29 rather than anything else. Tell me what school you went to in Sheffield please and what your
02:34 fondest memory of it was? I went to Hartlepool Primary School in Shire Green and my fondest
02:40 memory, I was playing TJ Hooker, which was a television programme. We played that in the
02:45 schoolyard at break time all the time, me and a few girls and a few boys and that is my fondest
02:51 memory of running around the yard playing that. Tell me what school in Sheffield you went to
02:55 please and what your fondest memory is of it? Sheffield City Grammar when it came down to
03:01 Strabbrook and fondest teacher. What was your fondest memory of the school, Thistle?
03:09 That's hard to say really, I don't know. Was there anything that you enjoyed about your school days
03:15 there? I enjoyed it, yeah. Probably the fact that United were going through a good spell and we were
03:24 all United fans at the time and that were a pretty good one. What season was it, do you remember?
03:28 '70/'71 that. Oh I see, so who was playing for them? Tony Curry, Alan Woodward, all those, yeah.
03:35 Tell me what school in Sheffield you went to and what your fondest memory is of the time there?
03:39 My first school I went to was Eccles Hall Church School, which was very nice and
03:47 I can't think of my fondest memory though.
03:52 Just that it was nice and everybody was friendly, you know, and with it being a church school,
04:03 we were near the church and you used to come home walking through the churchyard every day
04:09 and then when we got through the churchyard there was a baker's shop opposite called Roses
04:19 and we used to go in and have a penny with the stale cakes.
04:23 That's the best thing I remember about going to Eccles Hall School.
