00:00 What's up everybody? Pastor Darius here. What you're getting ready to watch. I don't know when you're watching it, but it's the first message I preached on a Sunday morning in 2024 right from our campus in Duluth, Georgia.
00:11 I broadcast location, everybody. And this message is called I'm Not Full. Listen, most people experience spiritual growth incrementally.
00:20 What I want to show you is how to experience it exponentially. There's a blueprint to God's best spiritually. And I want you to tap into this message. One request, if it blesses you, just share it with somebody else. Take care.
00:33 And in this series, I'm going to, I'm doing a series, the series title is called It's Up. And Pastor's going to ask, I don't care what the traffic's like, Pastor's going to ask you to do just one thing this first month, every location.
00:47 I need you to give me a consistent four weeks. Okay, now something happens and you can't get to a physical location. It's okay.
00:56 Tap in online. But this series is different because this is like a book. Each message builds on top of the next.
01:05 And what I'm introducing you to in this series is something called spiritual temperaments, because most people are growing spiritually, but they're growing incrementally.
01:14 They're not growing exponentially. They're not experiencing spiritual quantum leaps. And that is because we've taught you spiritual disciplines and spiritual practices, but we haven't taught you how to discern your spiritual temperament.
01:30 So you're trying to do what grandmama did when you're not wired the way grandmama's wire.
01:36 Did you hear what I just said? Yep. So some of you got to get on your knees and pray and the others of you, you got to walk and pray and the others of you, you got a journal in pray.
01:46 So you can't go outside the Bible to find a way to grow, but you've got to look in the Bible and see the different ways that the Bible outlines for you to grow.
01:55 And you've got to pick a spiritual path that aligns with your spiritual temperament. And that's the way you experience spiritual acceleration.
02:03 Am I making sense already? So I need four weeks to walk you through this. And so I just need you to be consistent, because I believe if we anchor ourselves spiritually, it's going to show up in every other area of our life.
02:16 So let's go together to the book of John, chapter number 10, verse number 10. And this is what it says. The thief comes only to steal, kill and destroy. I have come that they may have a life and have it to the full.
02:34 I want to talk from this subject in our time together. I'm not full yet. Clap your hands at every location if you're still hungry.
02:48 Family, I want to I want to launch into today's lesson by lifting up three laws that are that I think are essential to what I'm attempting to articulate over the course of these next few weeks.
03:02 For my note takers, here is the first law. It is one. It is a life law. I've affectionately entitled the law of adjustments.
03:10 Here it is. I'm going to see how many eight minutes I get on this one. If I am unwilling to adjust, I'll be unable to elevate.
03:21 In other words, family, listen to this. Something that we want is often on the other side of an adjustment we're unwilling to make.
03:32 And the enemy understands this. So he attempts to infect us with inflexibility.
03:39 He wants us on flexible because he he understands if we're on flexible, we will be unable to advance. But I want to know, am I talking to anybody in any location that has embraced this truth in this season?
03:56 That if I want to go further, I must be flexible because my elevation is on the other side of an adjustment the enemy doesn't want me to make.
04:08 And all throughout scripture, we see examples of individuals that were inhibited in their advancement because or could have been inhibited in their advancement because they were inflexible.
04:20 There were people that couldn't advance because they were not willing to or were hesitant to make adjustments. And I don't know who this is for, but this is your season for adjustments.
04:31 This is your time to to adjust. Come on. This is the season where you marry the mission, but you take the method.
04:39 Come on here. You marry the result, but you take the way. This is a season where you don't miss your miracle because you're loyal to an inferior thing.
04:49 I don't want to be loyal to a path and miss the promise. I'm loyal to the promise. And God, you show me the path.
04:55 Let me say the way they let me say it the way they will say it at the Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Kilmichael, Mississippi, where I grew up.
05:03 Anyway, you bless me. I'll be satisfied. God, I don't care how you do it. Just get it done.
05:09 I don't care if you split the Red Sea. Get it done. I don't care if you knock down Jericho walls. Get it done.
05:15 I don't care if you turn my rod into a snake. Get it done. I don't care if you bring water from a rock. Get it done.
05:21 I don't care if you use a brook called Cherith or a woman in Zarephath. Lord, anyway, you bless me. I'll be satisfied.
05:31 But sometimes the result you want is on the other side of an adjustment you've been unwilling to make.
05:40 The second life law that I want to lift up in our time together is the law of appetite.
05:46 Here it is. I'm going to see how many amens I get on this one. The law of appetite says this.
05:50 My elevation is determined by my actions, but my actions are a reflection of my appetite.
06:01 My elevation is determined by my actions, but my actions are a reflection of my appetite.
06:07 In other words, my actions aren't just a method to what I want.
06:11 They are a mirror of what I want. And my actions might be telling me that I don't want what I say I want the way I actually want it.
06:19 Because if I wanted what I say I want the way I actually want it, then my actions would be reflective of that because my appetite would be for that thing.
06:29 And this is why I y'all all right. I said, are y'all all right?
06:33 Yeah. See, see, see. And therefore, when God gets ready to elevate any area of our life, he begins by adjusting our appetite.
06:44 Come here. And one of the ways he adjusts our appetite is through something I call the principle or the law of exposure.
06:52 And that is exposure awakens in you an appetite for something that you didn't previously desire because you didn't know it existed.
07:02 You didn't want the next level because you didn't know it was there. But once you found out there is one the way you set up, I got to have it.
07:10 Yeah. You didn't want another dimension because you didn't know it existed.
07:16 But once you got exposed to it, you realize and recognize I got to have it.
07:20 And when you don't understand the way God wants to use exposure, the enemy will trick you into mismanaging exposure.
07:26 And you end up becoming jealous of what you're supposed to be inspired by.
07:33 Come on, come on, come on. Come on. Did you hear what I just said? Yeah.
07:39 Come on. This is important. And when people don't understand this, they confuse an appetite with more for greed.
07:50 Well, sometimes it's not greed is God. I got Bible Philippians says it is him who works in you to will and to do his good pleasure.
08:02 Not just the ability to do it, but the desire to do it. So some come on here.
08:07 So some won't choose or won't choose you have because God gave you the want to.
08:16 David said he gives us what the Bible says. He gives us the desires of our heart.
08:21 That doesn't mean he gives us everything our heart wants. It means he'll give your heart what you want.
08:28 You want something I don't want and I want something you don't want.
08:31 And those unique desires are aligned with our unique destiny.
08:36 So stop acting like you don't want it because some want to God gave to you.
08:41 I need somebody to break religious mental constrictions and open your mouth and say, I want it.
08:48 I'm not ashamed of it. I want it. I'm not embarrassed about it. I want it.
08:53 I'm not self-centered, but I want it. I'm not selfish, but I want it.
08:57 I'm not greedy, but I want it. And I believe I want it because he wants it for me.
09:08 Because sometimes your desire to suppress what you want is actually suppressing what the world needs.
09:18 Sometimes suppressing what you want is actually suppressing what the world needs.
09:22 In the Old Testament, there's a powerful example of this.
09:24 We use this scripture when we're doing baby dedications, a baby blessings, where there's this woman named Hannah who is unable to have a child.
09:30 And the Bible says that for some reason she could not get over this desire.
09:36 And her husband kept letting her know, kept assuring her, you are fine.
09:40 This does not bother me. I love you just the same. Take this pressure off of yourself.
09:45 But she could not shake it. And the reason she could not shake it is because Hannah wanted a baby.
09:52 But God needed a prophet. You missed it.
09:57 Hannah wanted a child. God needed a Samuel.
10:02 So sometimes what you want is what the world needs.
10:06 And God's like, I'm going to give you a want to that won't go away from you until you give birth to the thing I need in the earth.
10:13 I don't have you want it just because you want it. I got you want it because the world needs it.
10:18 And I've chosen you to give birth to it. And this is your year to get it out.
10:26 Whatever's in your heart, get it out. Whatever's in your head, get it out. Whatever's in your journal, get it out.
10:33 You want it, but the world needs it.
10:40 I want a church that helps people on Monday.
10:45 Y'all missed it. Not a church that just inspires people on Sunday.
10:53 I want a church that helps people on Monday. And what I want is what the body needs.
11:06 Now, here's something now. Here's something about appetite adjustment and exposure.
11:10 This is going to leave it to the third law. And that is, are you all ready for this? Come on now.
11:14 I said, are you all ready for this? All right. Here it is. This is interesting now.
11:19 This is interesting. Oh, when God, he, when God creates a desire.
11:30 For what you don't have, he simultaneously creates a dissatisfaction with what you do have.
11:44 Did you hear what I just said? I said when he creates a desire for what you don't have, he simultaneously creates dissatisfaction with what you do have.
11:56 Come on. And that leads me to the third law. I hope you're ready for this is the law of agitation.
12:01 God will create a divine dissatisfaction with what you have in order to create a desire for what you need.
12:11 And some of you are wondering why some haven't been working for you anymore.
12:16 And some of you are wondering why you haven't been satisfied anymore.
12:20 And you're thinking you're ungrateful and unappreciative when what you're really dealing with is wholly discontent.
12:27 It is when God says, I'm going to send my friend to your doorstep and my friend's name is frustration.
12:39 Because frustration is an indication that you no longer belong on the level you own with what you frustrated with.
12:47 Frustration is God's way of keeping you and I from settling in something inferior.
12:54 He said, you know what? You done messed around and got comfortable.
12:57 So what I'm getting ready to do is I'm getting ready to make you uncomfortable in the very thing you used to be comfortable in.
13:03 Because if not, you're going to set up permanent residence in something that's supposed to be a temporary season.
13:14 And I don't know who you who this is for, but I'm going to say it with some pastoral boldness.
13:19 I hope this year God agitate the mess out of you.
13:23 I hope every time you get ready to settle relationally, he frustrates you.
13:29 I hope every time you get ready to settle professionally, he frustrates you.
13:34 I hope that every time you get ready to settle financially and emotionally, I pray he frustrates.
13:40 I pray you wake up mad and don't even know why.
13:45 All of these laws are essential to experiencing upgrades.
14:04 And we see a powerful picture of these laws at work in this passage here in John 10, 10 in John 10, 10.
14:13 We get to eavesdrop on a conversation that Jesus is having.
14:18 And in this conversation, we see the presence of these three laws of adjustment, appetite and agitation that I mentioned.
14:27 It's very interesting here. Jesus says these words to people.
14:31 He says the thief comes. He calls Satan a thief.
14:41 In the New Testament, Satan's actions are identified by the names.
14:49 So the names he's called is a picture of all the stuff he wants to do.
14:55 And Jesus says the thief comes to steal, to kill and destroy.
15:03 Those are three different things.
15:08 You hear what I just said. Stealing, killing and destroying are three different things.
15:13 Watch this. But Jesus says, on the contrary, that's why he came.
15:19 But on the contrary, I have come.
15:24 That you might have a life and have it to the full.
15:30 Here's the problem. Jesus tells this to people who are already alive.
15:40 So he's telling people that are alive, I've come that you might have life.
15:49 So I'm like, this doesn't make sense to me. And I know the New Testament is written in Greek.
15:53 So I said, I need to look at the Greek definition of this word life to see what word Jesus used to see what he's talking about.
16:02 And when I looked at the word for life, that word is not like bio or like biology.
16:07 It's a word called Zoe, which refers to the God kind of life.
16:15 Come on. It refers to life as God intended.
16:19 It refers to what life is like when God's in charge. Come on here.
16:24 It refers to what one translator calls an abundant life, not just abundance in life, but abundance of life.
16:33 That the quality of my life is rich with things that cannot be acquired or obtained independent of Jesus.
16:41 So Jesus is talking to people who are alive and he says, you might have bio, but you don't have Zoe.
16:49 And he said, the reason I came is I came to give you a life that you didn't know existed until I'm exposing you to it.
16:57 And now that I've exposed you to it, I want you to have a holy dissatisfaction with bios.
17:04 And I want you to have an appetite for Zoe. Are you already? I'm not done because he not only says this to people who are alive.
17:15 Oh, he's saying this to people who are religious.
17:25 He comes to religious people and says to them, the thief come.
17:31 To steal, kill and destroy, he says, because you think you're exempt of being robbed because you religious.
17:39 He said you've been robbed to. You've been robbed, but you've been robbed proactively, not reactively.
17:50 He didn't take some from you that you had. He took it before you got it.
17:57 And that's the worst kind of thievery, because you don't know you've been stolen from.
18:02 You come on here. Something's been stolen from you that you hadn't had a chance to experience.
18:08 And if you think life is good now and you're just walking in bio, what is life going to be like when you step in the Zoey?
18:16 When you step in the Zoey, that's where peace that passes us understanding is Zoey is where joy, unspeakable and full of glory is.
18:25 It's not just in church. OK, can I can I let me see y'all? All right.
18:31 I'm double. Y'all are. Jesus didn't say I've come that you might have church.
18:38 Let me talk to change global because he said I come that you might have church and have church more abundantly.
18:44 It's not that church is not important, but the point of life is not church.
18:50 The point of church is to give you the life that he's attended.
18:57 So my question is whether or not you got a church. My question is whether or not you got a life.
19:03 And two thousand and twenty four is your year to get your life, not bio's Zoe.
19:17 Jesus is talking to people. Listen, it is who are religious.
19:24 And in their mind, they're assuming because I'm religious, I'm better off than most.
19:34 And they might be right. But Jesus says what he says to them, because he knows what they're doing is comparing themselves to other people's lives.
19:47 When God compares you to your potential. So if you compare your life to someone else's life, you may be winning.
19:58 But when you compare your current state to your potential, you settle it.
20:04 And what Jesus is trying to get people to see in this passage is you're settling and you're settling with the worst kind of settling because you're settling spiritually and spiritual settling is unconscious settling.
20:18 See, when you settle relationally, you know it. You look at who you would.
20:22 You say I can do better than this, but but right now it's cold outside and it's cuffing season.
20:30 And when the weather break, I'm exploring my options. And look, you know, you're settling.
20:41 You know, when you're settling professionally, you know, when you've got a king's anointing, but shepherds responsibility.
20:52 You know, when you you know, when you've got you know, when you're getting the compensation of finances, but you're not getting the highest form of compensation, that's fulfillment.
21:00 You know, when you're settling there, you know what you know, when we're settling.
21:05 But what's scary about spiritual settling is you don't know.
21:12 See, spiritual settling is when a person resigns themself to a suboptimal lower level of spiritual fulfillment and growth.
21:20 Here it is. It is a use of spirituality to anesthetize pain, minimize immorality, but not optimize their life.
21:32 It's a result of ignorance. Either they're not informed or they've been misinformed.
21:37 Apathy. They don't care. Indifference or complacency. They're satisfied with being out of Egypt, even if they're not going into Canaan.
21:51 Well, my life not is what it used to be, so I'm good right about here.
21:57 And it's amazing how many of us won't tolerate settling any other area, but we'll tolerate it here.
22:08 Many of us won't settle relationally. Somebody cross you. They say the wrong thing the wrong way.
22:13 You like, wait a minute, hold up. But in this area right here.
22:23 It's easy. Now watch this. Put my definition back up there.
22:29 It is the use of spirituality. To anesthetize pain. Now, no, I say no judgment, no judgment at all.
22:38 No judgment, no judgment at all. But here it is. If I'm going to grow, I got to I got to be able to locate myself.
22:47 Right. Come on. Anybody does any kind of coaching and mentoring, you know, that one of the first things you got to do with people that you're serving is you got to do what God did with Adam.
22:55 And he was the best coach and the best leader and the best mentor that what he did with Adam in the garden.
22:59 He knew what Adam was, but he knew Adam couldn't move until Adam knew where he was.
23:03 So the omniscient God who knows everything walks in the garden and ask a question he already know the answer to because he knows Adam's breakthrough isn't in him knowing the answer.
23:11 Adam's breakthrough is in him knowing the answer. Did you hear what I just said? Adam's breakthrough in God, knowing where Adam is.
23:18 Adam's breakthrough is tied to Adam nowhere. Adam, where are you? So you got to be able to locate you.
23:23 And here's a question. So I'm settling spiritually if all I'm using my spirituality for is to anesthetize pain.
23:29 So here it is. Are you all OK? So it means that this is where I am spiritually.
23:35 If the only team, only time I lean into God good is when things are going bad.
23:46 Is everybody all right? I just felt I don't know what I just felt. I felt every location.
23:51 I just I don't know what is right. It's no judgment. It doesn't mean don't love God.
23:56 I mean, God don't love you, but it means just just right now I'm using spirituality exclusively to anesthetize pain.
24:07 So my life got to fall apart for me to get my relationship with God together.
24:15 And God is a God that is a bomb in Gilead. He is. Come on. He is a salve, a soteria, salvation.
24:25 He does heal the broken hearted. He does bind up our wounds. He can fix what others cannot fix.
24:31 But so so using religion for that isn't incorrect. But if I use it only for that, it's incomplete.
24:38 You're settling. It's remedial religion.
24:47 And what Jesus is trying to get people in the text to see is I didn't come just to give you that.
24:55 Y'all better come get me today. Jesus said I came to give you something different than that.
25:02 And if all you have is that you're not taking advantage of what I came to give.
25:08 You don't need me just for that. He says what I came to give you is a life more abundantly or life to the full.
25:18 And so I believe that Jesus was here. He would ask all of us a quintessential and key question.
25:22 And that is, are you full? Not are you praying, are you full? Not are you journaling, are you full?
25:31 Not are you reading your Bible, are you full? Not are you consistent with church, are you full?
25:35 Not are you generous, but are you full? He says, because I came to give you a life that's full.
25:41 I came to feel you until your cup is running over with kingdom assets that cannot be required any other way.
25:49 I came to give you life and life to the full.
25:56 So the question, I think that all of us got to ask is, am I full?
26:03 And before you answer the question, let me give you six traits of a full life.
26:08 Because Jesus came not just to bring that life. He came to model it.
26:17 So I want to give you six traits, because if you can't look at yourself in the mirror and say, I'm full of all six,
26:26 then an adjustment needs to be made this year.
26:31 Number one, a full life. Are you all ready for this? A full life is a storm resistant life.
26:40 Not a storm avoidant life. Right. Come on now. Sometimes the gospel, sometimes God helps us avoid the Passover story in the Bible is about avoidance.
26:50 This is why I believe we all owe God Passover praises every week because Passover.
26:56 Did you hear what I just said? Like Passover is the miracle of avoidance is when something could have happened.
27:03 That didn't happen because God, by his grace, made it pass you over.
27:13 Come on here. The blood in the Old Testament was on the doorpost and that's why it passed it over.
27:20 But the blood is on your life. And that's why it's come on here. And if you if you are of a charismatic continuationist Pentecostal heritage,
27:29 you probably grew up in churches where you would hear people say things like Satan, the blood is against you.
27:37 Y'all miss it. It means that this is a way that God marks his territory.
27:42 This is a way of God saying you do not have permission to bother that.
27:46 I don't care what you're doing on the whole road. When you see the blood, you better pass over that.
27:51 Because if you touch that, you trespassing on my property. And I said touch not my anointed to my servant, no harm.
28:02 And the reason you're still here, the reason you hadn't fell apart, the reason you're still together is not because you've been that good.
28:09 It's because there's some stuff that pass you over.
28:12 It's because God looked at you and say, damn, they silly season right now.
28:16 But two years from now, I'm about to turn their life around. So I need to keep them safe while they being silly.
28:23 Passover. I got to go.
28:30 But if you've never made any mistakes, be quiet. If you should be where you are, be quiet.
28:36 But if you're here because you know some stuff should have happened and didn't happen because he passed you over.
28:52 So God does a boy. But the only way you get victory is not avoidance.
28:57 Sometimes you get victory through overcoming. Sometimes you don't avoid. Sometimes you overcome.
29:07 Sometimes God say, no, you're not avoiding the fire furnace. I'm just getting in with you.
29:14 You're not avoiding the lines, then I'm getting in with you and I'm a close the mouth of the line.
29:19 Either way, you win. God almighty. God almighty.
29:24 I say either way I win. If I don't go through it, I win. And if I go through it, I'm going to come out of it.
29:30 So I'm winning either way. All I do is win. No other option, but to win.
29:34 Been anointed to win. Been called to win. Been chosen to win. Been picked to win. Been crafted to win.
29:45 All right. So. Because I can't avoid all adversity.
29:52 I need to be able to overcome that, which I can't avoid.
29:57 So I'm not storm avoidant, but a full life means I'm storm resistant.
30:03 What do I mean by that? Mark chapter four, verse 37, it says a furious squall came up.
30:07 And when the waves broke over the boat, when the waves broke over the boat so that it was nearly swamp,
30:11 Jesus was in the stern sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said, teacher, don't you care if we drown?
30:17 So Jesus was in a storm, but the storm wasn't in him.
30:24 Am I talking to anybody that will say I don't even look like what I'm in?
30:28 Yeah. Some people's testimony is I don't look like what I've been through.
30:32 Some others of us got a testimony and say, I don't look like what I'm going through. Right.
30:41 Watch this. Jesus is sleeping, but the disciples are stressing no judgment.
30:47 It's between you and God. But I need you to ask yourself when the storm comes relationally, when the storm comes professionally, when the storm comes financially in the text, which one are you?
31:07 Come on, let's be honest now. Which are my disciples? This God.
31:16 Do you not care if we drown?
31:24 Or am I Jesus who's sleeping, who's thinking it came to pass?
31:39 It came to pass.
31:45 So for life is storm resistant. So being storm resistant doesn't mean I don't have a disciples reaction initially.
31:54 It means I reframe quickly.
32:00 Did I catch myself me at stress and say, come back here? No weapon formed against you shall prosper.
32:07 It means I catch myself mid panic and say, I don't believe he brought me this far to leave me.
32:13 It means I catch myself mid panic and say I'm more than a conqueror through Christ Jesus.
32:21 I'm not tired. Oh, here it is. Number two, a full life has a sixth sense.
32:29 This is the ability to perceive and detect what can be picked up by the five senses.
32:35 A sixth sense means you live life where you can hear what they not saying.
32:43 Because some of us got caught up, tripped up, messed up because you heard what they were saying.
32:53 But the sixth sense allows you to hear what they're not saying. Come on here.
32:59 See, see the sixth sense is the eyes and the ears in your heart. The eyes in your head give you sight.
33:07 The eyes in your heart give you vision. Sight sees today. Vision sees tomorrow.
33:15 So the sick, are you hearing what I'm saying? Yep. The sixth sense is what we would call spiritual discernment.
33:23 It is the sensitivity you have to promptings and unctions that God's using as a resources to direct and guide your behavior.
33:33 It is something where everything looks right and some says, don't you sign it.
33:38 See, you're not talking to me. I have been at the table before. First lady is right.
33:43 We've been at the table before and I put the pin down and said, some telling me not to do this.
33:49 And you got to be able to watch this. You've got to be able to trust the sixth sense in the present and get an explanation in the future.
33:57 God, I don't know why you're telling me to do this right now, but then you get to a season in your life and you look back and say, I am so glad.
34:07 A full life has a sixth sense. Number three, a full life has supernatural wisdom.
34:14 One of the ways wisdom is manifest is in the ability to solve unsolvable problems.
34:22 In Matthew, chapter 14, verse 18, Jesus said, bring them here to me.
34:27 He directed the people to sit down on the grass. He took five loaves and two fish looking up to heaven.
34:33 He gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave it to the disciples and the disciples gave them to the people.
34:38 They all ate and were all full and the disciples picked up 12 baskets of broken piece pieces that were left over.
34:44 And the number of those who ate were five thousand men, besides women and children.
34:51 Watch this wisdom turned the not enough in the more than enough.
34:58 Everybody, the disciples were panicking. Jesus was thinking.
35:03 Supernatural wisdom. This ability to solve unsolvable problems is when God gives you creative abundance is when he give you answers that you can't get from education.
35:15 Y'all not talking to me is when you walk in through the mall stressing about something you struggling with.
35:20 And then all of a sudden he drop an answer on you. I don't know who this is for, but I pray this happens to you this week on the treadmill.
35:32 I pray it happens to you this week on lunch. I pray it happens in the middle of the of nowhere.
35:38 God give you an answer that out of nowhere he shows you how to solve an unsolvable problem.
35:47 Number four, a full life gives you sensational relationships.
35:53 In John six, verse 66, it says from this time, many of his disciples turned back and followed him no further.
36:00 Jesus looked at them and said, you don't want to leave to do you? He asked the 12 and Peter asked, Lord, to whom shall we go?
36:08 You have the words of eternal life. We have come to believe and know that you're the holy one of God.
36:14 I want that kind of relationship. But notice it says many people left him to follow no further.
36:24 Are you all ready for this? I said, are you all ready for this? This not level two teaching this level three teaching right here.
36:30 Cultures way level one churches way level two kings way level three. Here it is.
36:35 They left and Jesus didn't ask them to come back. You see, that's why I didn't want to say it.
36:44 Did you? They left and Jesus looked at the ones that stayed and said, are you going to leave to why?
36:50 Because he understands that you only get sensational relationships if you're willing to experience subtraction.
36:58 Because some of us can't have sensational relationships because you made an idol out of company.
37:05 Hiya. And when you make an idol out of company, you are unwilling to hold a standard.
37:11 And if you hold a standard, at some point there's going to be subtraction.
37:15 Jesus said, unless you eat my flesh, drink my blood, you have no part of me. That's my standard.
37:20 And when people left because of this standard, he didn't lower the standard to keep people.
37:24 He looked at the ones that stay and said, are you leaving to because the standard ain't going nowhere?
37:31 You can leave if you want to, but the standard is going to be right here.
37:35 And this is your year to hold the standard. You've done enough talking. You've done enough warning.
37:41 You've done enough arguing. You've done enough conversation. Hold the standard.
37:46 And if you hold the standard, you won't have to eliminate anybody. They will eliminate themselves.
37:54 This is my Peter season. I only want Peters in my circle to say, where else I'm going?
38:09 I'm done, Tario. Number five, a full life gives you strong restraint.
38:22 It helps you minimize self-sabotage and behavior.
38:27 It gives you restraint. So that you're not engaging and I'm not engaging in self imposed nuisances.
38:37 Self imposed nuisance. Self S imposed I nuisance in.
38:49 So I'm not sabotaging my own success.
38:55 See, this is one of the things God tried to do with Adam and Eve in the garden.
38:58 He's like, hey, what I want you all to see is not what you in.
39:02 I need you to see how you in it because you can't fix what you want on.
39:07 He says you not in this because of the devil, because he didn't force you to eat that.
39:17 He says you in it because you couldn't restrain yourself from doing something in the present that was going to hurt you later.
39:26 Life is going to give you enough wounds.
39:30 At some point you have to decide my wounds from this point forward will not be self inflicted.
39:43 Am I making sense? What your spirituality does is it gives you the ability to operate with the fruit of spirit temperance,
39:51 which is self control, because some of my self sabotage and behavior doesn't have spiritual roots.
39:56 It's got emotional roots. It's family of origin roots. It's life. It's trauma.
40:00 It's all this. But what spiritual watch this.
40:03 What a full life does is it keeps you restrained until you get healed.
40:10 Did you hear what I'm saying? Yeah. It keeps me from continuing to destroy my life while I'm working on what's destroying it.
40:20 Jesus in the wilderness, 40 days, no bread, no food.
40:24 Satan comes and says, turn these stones to bread.
40:28 He says, man shall not live by bread alone. Stomach growling, mouth watering, restraint.
40:36 He says, if I eat now, I wasted 40 days.
40:43 I'm not working this hard, fighting for my life.
40:50 Just to blow it up. Because I can't restrain.
40:56 And number six, a full life gives you.
41:02 A full life helps you successfully handle success.
41:07 Here's Israel's story in the Old Testament, guys. Here it is. They didn't handle success.
41:12 It was it was almost like they didn't have they get successful, like everything would come together.
41:18 Then they would fall apart because what people and some of you need some of you in this season now and some of you are going.
41:25 We have to understand what God's calling you to model is how to successfully handle success.
41:33 Being successful is actually a lot easier than being successful at being successful.
41:38 Most people aren't successful at being successful. Very early in the morning while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house, went off to a solitary place where he prayed.
41:52 And Simon and his companions went to look for him. And when they found him, they exclaimed, they exclaimed, everybody looking for you.
42:00 Jesus probably like so. Watch this.
42:07 Because being successful at being successful means you you realize I do not have to destroy my castle building my empire.
42:19 You show me somebody who hadn't done that. That's who winning.
42:23 It means that I'm successful, but I'm not stressed out or strung out.
42:31 Everybody's looking for you. Everybody's looking for you. There was nonstop demand.
42:38 And Jesus said, so. I'm getting by myself.
42:46 Y'all going to be here when I get back. Watch this. And some of y'all was with John and you left John for me.
42:55 And when I die, you're going to leave me for somebody else.
43:01 So I will die for you on the cross, but I'm not going to die because of you. I got to go.
43:17 You can be prosperous and have peace that passes all understanding.
43:22 You can be rich with financial wealth and have a relationship that you love.
43:30 In culture, you can just have some in the kingdom. I can have it all.
43:37 Those are the traits of a full life. And if I don't have all six of those traits, I need to be willing this year to make an adjustment spiritually.
43:48 And that's what I want to spend the few weeks, these next few weeks helping you do.
43:52 Here's what the Bible says. It says have nothing to do, have nothing to do with godless myths or old wives tales, but train yourself to be God.
44:01 That word train, you know what that mean? Gymnasium. It literally means it's from which we get the word gymnasium.
44:07 It means to exercise. So spiritual exercises are called spiritual disciplines.
44:11 So the same thing you got to do physically to get strong, you got to do spiritually to get strong.
44:15 So spiritual disciplines might be disciplines like so when I pray, spiritual discipline, got me reading a Bible, worshipping, fasting, coming to church.
44:25 And here's the issue. Some of us are like I do the spiritual disciplines, pastor.
44:29 So I have spiritual muscle. But in order to get Zoe, you got to be willing to make adjustments.
44:36 So I've been working out for a while now and I was working out recently with my trainer.
44:39 And I know enough not to know to know not to rock your body when you're doing biceps, not to move your shoulders.
44:47 So I can say I'm probably doing more than most my age when it comes to that area.
44:51 But when I got with him, he said, OK, this is what I want you to do when you get to the top.
44:57 I want you to turn. And I did that little tweak. I say, wait a minute.
45:04 I feel something I hadn't felt before. And this year, God's going to show you what tweak to make.
45:14 And when you make this tweak spiritually, it's going to change your life completely.
45:20 When you make these adjustments, you're going to experience elevation.
45:25 This is your year to get full. It will be so it will not be otherwise.
