Hundreds of homes have been flooded in England following a powerful storm and a week of heavy rainfall. Resident Sue Oosthuizen said she is remaining in her home despite the heavy flooding in order to look after her cat and chickens. "Everybody's saying get out, get out, get out. We've got a cat basket ready to put the cat in it and a bag ready to put the chickens in and my friend next door will come and help us," she said.
There are around 280 flood warnings in force, the majority in the Midlands, East Anglia and southern England, with many residents forced to evacuate their properties. Flooded roads and railway tracks are set to bring more delays for travellers throughout Friday.
