00:00 And when I got on the plane, having finished my work in Australia and was flying back to
00:12 the UK, I didn't want to eat anything.
00:16 Now I'm a food lover.
00:19 I consider myself a bit of a foodie.
00:21 In fact, eating is one of my great pleasures in life.
00:25 So for me, to be sitting on a plane, being offered things like scrambled eggs and smoked
00:31 salmon and champagne, all of my favourite things, and to be turning them down and thinking,
00:38 "Oh, I just don't even want a cup of tea."
00:42 That was a bit of a warning sign, I think, for me.
00:46 I mean, as if the other things shouldn't have been.
00:49 They should have been, but it really...
00:51 That was the moment, I think, for me, when I was on the plane and I didn't want to eat
00:54 my favourite foods.
00:57 I thought, "Hmm, this isn't quite right."
00:59 And so when I got back to the UK, that is when I finally noticed that my body was screaming
01:07 at me that something was very seriously wrong.
01:12 And if only I'd known that, sure, I was going to have December off, but not to relax and
01:18 recuperate, to have major surgery, to have a five centimetre tumour removed from my colon.
