00:00 [MUSIC - PAULIKA POTIENO, "SOUTHERN SOUL"]
00:05 Good afternoon, everyone.
00:07 My name is Paulika Potieno from Southern Soul.
00:10 I'm always excited to be here in Kigali.
00:13 It's been, I think, three or four years since we did a show.
00:18 Yesterday evening we were rehearsing, and we were listening to a recording that we did.
00:22 And we ourselves were like, we wish we were on the other side
00:25 to really enjoy the music the way you guys would enjoy tomorrow.
00:29 So I mean, we are performers.
00:32 We are known as performers.
00:34 And we're going to give our all to you guys.
00:37 We're going to give you a full, full performance, as we always do,
00:40 as we are known to do.
00:42 So we'll be there until they have to shut down.
00:46 It's been a dream to play in this beautiful arena.
00:50 Kigali is beautiful, as always.
00:52 And this is our second home to Southern Soul.
00:54 So thank you very much for always welcoming us when you come here.
00:57 And yes, we're looking forward to an amazing time.
01:00 And let's rock and roll.
01:01 Rwanda has to be the country that we played in the most in East Africa.
01:06 Two weeks ago we were invited to visit Rwanda.
01:09 And we were up in the mountains for the naming ceremony of the Gorillaz.
01:13 And this show just means a lot to us.
01:15 It means more to us than just coming to do a regular show.
01:19 We treat our Rwanda fans very seriously.
01:21 We take them very seriously.
01:23 And we see the tweets, and we see the love.
01:26 And we can't wait to give you guys an electric show.
01:28 I just hope the guys show up, fill up the arena,
01:31 and have an amazing time together.
01:32 Because it's going to be like a church in there.
01:34 We're going to bless this country with amazing energy and good vibes.
01:38 So we can't really wait, man.
01:40 Yes, Midnight Train is still on.
01:43 And the train has now arrived in Kigali.
01:46 So we still celebrate that album.
01:49 And we're going to be playing a lot of songs from that album.
01:51 And yes, we've been in studio.
01:53 We've been working a lot.
01:55 So expect some fresh vibe from us.
01:58 There's new music coming out very soon.
02:02 So we've been working on an album.
02:03 Actually, we have a lot of songs.
02:04 So it's just putting them together and putting out the songs.
02:09 About Rwandan artists, yes, definitely.
02:13 We have friends over here who are good friends with us.
02:18 There's Bruce Melody, you know.
02:20 There's Mike Kaiura.
02:22 There's dope artists here that we are willing to work with.
02:25 Actually, we are already working with Mike, you know.
02:28 Also with Bruce Melody, we have some stuff we're going to be putting out soon.
02:32 So for us, collaboration is always key to conquering markets and to expression.
02:37 So you're going to be listening to a lot of music from us and Rwandan artists.
02:42 So we're here to stay.
