00:00 I basically put my head between my hands
00:02 and started preparing myself mentally for what was about to come.
00:06 The granary fight was so intense.
00:14 It was a nice summer night to be in pain.
00:17 Sofia's character could pick up a roll of toilet paper and kill you with it,
00:25 or an assault rifle.
00:26 In the movie, you have...
00:28 I have a knife, a hatchet...
00:30 and then using the space, remember that structure.
00:33 She used a pistol a lot, an assault rifle, and fighting hand-to-hand.
00:37 I like the idea of toilet paper.
00:39 If they make another movie, we can always get that in.
00:42 My biggest concern was how credible I would look holding the gun.
00:47 I didn't want to be off with how to walk or run with a gun,
00:50 how to hold it, how to look with it.
00:52 And I was doing everything wrong to begin with.
00:54 I do do a fair amount of weapons training myself
00:57 just because it's a good skill set to have.
00:59 Zac would keep helping me even on set
01:02 because I think until you do it every day
01:04 and you are actually on the field,
01:06 it's hard to make it seem like you've done it your whole life.
01:09 It's easy to just get distracted by the technical parts of fighting
01:13 and then sort of forget about, "Oh, what does my character feel?"
01:16 I wanted to make sure at the end of the fight I'm also in pain,
01:19 that I'm also tired, and I wanted to see the exhaustion
01:22 even though I'm having the upper hand.
01:24 We're going to have to fight.
01:26 It's choreographed, so you just do it.
01:28 It's muscle memory by the time you're shooting.
01:29 I use what I've learned as a dancer to learn this choreography.
01:33 And one of the skills that I wanted to get
01:36 is actually for it to not look like a choreography.
01:39 And I wanted to sort of look, think, make the decision, and go and do it.
01:43 And I'm always terrified to hit a real person.
01:46 Some people, they always tell you, "Hit me, it's fine. I can take it."
01:49 And I really don't like it.
01:51 Her humanity is very on point.
01:53 They always say it's fine.
01:54 And for me, I know what they take, and then they go home limping.
01:57 But they will never show you that they're limping.
01:59 It can be very tedious, can be very hard.
02:02 But when you do it with a team that's so well-trained,
02:05 it was a joy shooting every fight scene on this
02:08 because when people really know what they're doing,
02:10 it makes it so enjoyable.
02:12 But it can be tiring and dangerous.
02:15 It was so much fun to explore.
02:16 Watch Rebel Moon only on Netflix.
