00:00 2023 was a year of scandals, royal rumbles, and, let's be honest, Taylor Swift.
00:05 Here's a look back at the biggest pop culture stories of the year.
00:08 The year kicked off with Prince Harry's spare, in which he called Prince William his arch-nemesis,
00:14 Queen Camilla an evil stepmother, and told us how he lost his virginity and what it was like
00:19 taking black mushroom chocolates at a party at Courteney Cox's house, something we did not have
00:24 on our 2023 bingo card. Harry wasn't the only one spilling all. In Britney Spears'
00:29 "Woman in Me" memoir, she went into detail about her conservatorship, her infamous hookups,
00:35 and her failed relationship with Justin Timberlake, revealing that he broke up with her via text.
00:40 But before their split, she shockingly revealed that she had an abortion
00:44 because Justin wasn't ready to become a father.
00:46 Now, female pop stars dominated the conversation this year, including Beyonce,
00:50 who sold out stadiums with her Renaissance tour alongside her daughter Blue Ivy,
00:55 and took over theaters with her concert film.
00:58 And let's not forget when Rihanna announced her pregnancy
01:01 while performing during the Super Bowl halftime show.
01:03 And speaking of baby bumps, Kourtney Kardashian channeled Blink-182's "All the Small Things" video
01:09 when she revealed that she was pregnant at Travis Barker's Blink concert back in June.
01:13 She did this by holding up a "Travis, I'm pregnant" sign.
01:17 The couple welcomed their first child together, a baby boy, back in November.
01:21 "Diabolical, demented, disgusting, subhuman."
01:25 Now, Vanderpump Rules star Tom Sandoval's affair with Raquel Levis was a reality TV shock
01:30 that no one, including his longtime girlfriend Ariana Maddox, saw coming.
01:34 In the aftermath, Ariana became booked and busy, competing on Dancing With The Stars.
01:40 Meanwhile, Raquel dumped Sandoval and BPR to focus on her upcoming podcast,
01:45 while Tom got punched in the face on Special Forces.
01:48 "I was selfish. I made the wrong move."
01:50 "I don't want to take a beating."
01:51 "Fight!"
01:53 While Tom may have been seeing stars, we were all seeing pink. Barbie pink, that is.
01:58 Greta Gerwig's Barbie, along with Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer,
02:01 opened simultaneously in July and grossed over $2 billion combined worldwide
02:06 and created the cultural phenomenon known as "Barbenheimer."
02:10 Taylor Swift continued to prove in 2023 that her big reputation is superstar.
02:15 The singer grossed over a billion dollars with her Errors tour,
02:18 broke box office records with her concert film, and reached billionaire status.
02:23 Oh, and let's not forget about her newfound and very public romance
02:28 with NFL football player Travis Kelce.
02:30 However, there were some extremely sad moments over the course of the year,
02:33 including the untimely death of Friends actor Matthew Perry,
02:37 who passed away in October at the age of 54.
02:39 His Friends co-stars released a statement at the time, saying,
02:43 "We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew.
02:46 We were more than just castmates, we are family.
