00:00 The Texas A&M Aggies landed a key addition via the NCAA Transfer Portal on Saturday afternoon.
00:07 Youngstown State linebacker Alex Howard announced his commitment to the Aggies on X and will have one year of eligibility remaining.
00:15 Howard is now joining recent commits in Old Dominion wide receiver Javon Harvey and defensive back Will Lee from Kansas State.
00:23 Spending the last four years with the Penguins, Howard amassed 142 tackles, 15.5 tackles for loss, 15 sacks, a forced fumble, and an interception in 38 career games.
00:35 The commitment of Howard could not have come at a better time for the Aggies as they have lost a good deal of players to the Transfer Portal and the NFL Draft.
00:44 In fact, one of the bigger losses for this defense came at the linebacker spot with All-American Edgerian Cooper declaring for the NFL Draft less than a week ago, which left a massive void in the position.
00:56 Howard's experience should keep the linebacker position together while the Aggies work to rebuild the roster that has been decimated by losses.
