Former Mirror editor Piers Morgan responds to Prince Harry victory in privacy caseSky News

00:00 The judgment finds there is just one article relating to the prints published in the Daily
00:04 Mirror during my entire nine-year tenure as editor that he thinks may have involved some
00:10 unlawful information gathering.
00:12 To be clear, I had then and still have zero knowledge of how that particular story was
00:17 gathered.
00:18 All these other claims against the Daily Mirror under my leadership were rejected.
00:23 With regard to the judge's other references to me in his judgment, I also want to reiterate,
00:28 as I've consistently said for many years now, I've never hacked a phone or told anybody
00:32 else to hack a phone, and nobody has produced any actual evidence to prove that I did.
00:38 I wasn't called as a witness, and it's important for people to know this, by either side in
00:43 the case, nor was I asked to provide any statement.
00:46 I would have very happily agreed to do either or both of those things had I been asked,
00:50 nor did I have a single conversation with any of the Mirror Grip lawyers throughout
00:54 the entire legal process.
00:57 So I wasn't able to respond to the many false allegations that were spewed about me in court
01:02 by all foes of mine with an axe to grind, most of which inexplicably were not even challenged
01:08 in my absence by the Mirror Grip counsel.
01:11 But I note the judge appears to have believed the evidence of Omid Scobie, who lied about
01:16 me in his new book, and he lied about me in court, and the whole world now knows him to
01:21 be a deluded fantasist.
01:23 And he believed the evidence of Alistair Campbell, another proven liar who spun this country
01:28 into an illegal war.
01:29 Finally, I want to say this.
01:32 Prince Harry's outrage at media intrusion into the private lives of the royal family
01:37 is only matched by his own ruthless, greedy, and hypocritical enthusiasm for doing it himself.
