Hancock said it is possible for players to get the experience they need for the pros after one year of college, but he doesn't want that for himself.

00:00 >> Good, how are you?
00:03 >> Good, how are you?
00:04 >> I think your presence here, probably in the future,
00:06 you're gonna play in the Cotton Bowl, is that it?
00:08 >> Yes, sir. >> And have you made a decision about
00:10 2020?
00:11 >> Not yet, but just wanna see how this game goes and go on from there.
00:15 >> To any one way or the other?
00:17 >> Nah, not for real.
00:18 >> Okay, and how important is this game to you guys?
00:23 Obviously, to you, it's one that matters.
00:24 What's the motivation for this team right now?
00:28 >> Motivation is, gotta win this game.
00:31 We gotta have something to show for at the end of the year.
00:33 We had a great year.
00:34 So just hold up a trophy at the end of the year.
00:37 A bowl we're gonna play in.
00:39 So get the young guys out there and get reps.
00:42 So everything's gonna be important, but this game is gonna be extremely important.
00:46 >> Jordan, how would you evaluate kind of your play this year?
00:51 You had to do a lot through that secondary as Andrews called it.
00:55 >> My play this year, I'm just proud of myself.
00:59 Learning a whole new position, taking on run fits and tackling, just everything.
01:05 I really had to play every position in the secondary.
01:08 So it was just a great year for me to learn.
01:10 And just, I would say, my future will be bright,
01:16 just learning different positions.
01:19 >> Was Nicol more physical than maybe you originally anticipated?
01:23 And kind of when did you kind of adjust to the physicality of coming up and
01:28 playing almost like a safety sometime in the run?
01:30 >> I was always adjusted to out of high school, I played a little bit of safety.
01:34 So I like hitting and stuff.
01:36 It was just more like the run fits, the run schemes,
01:39 like the front seven, just being in the front seven.
01:42 Really just that, what I had to learn.
01:43 So Coach Walt taught me a lot of that stuff.
01:46 >> Jordan, it seems like that skill set is at a premium in the NFL.
01:50 It's like safeties, you can cover corners, which is what you are.
01:53 How much does that weigh in as you ponder your future?
01:57 You play a position that seems like it's becoming increasingly valuable in the NFL.
02:02 >> Yeah, I can play every position.
02:04 So just position flexibility, that's what the scouts like about me right now.
02:08 I can play every position.
02:10 I can guard anybody on the field, I can tackle.
02:12 So I'm just really learning the game and I'm just excited for the future.
02:17 >> Do you think, I guess as you ponder the future,
02:21 is one year of extensive playing experience at college,
02:24 you think enough for a guy to go off to the NFL on?
02:26 Or is any part of you thinking, I played well, but
02:29 maybe I need a little more experience before I ultimately decide to do that?
02:33 >> My experience is there, it's just more like the legacy I wanna leave here.
02:37 So I'm just in between that type of dude.
