00:07 Good day for the Cleveland Browns, 31-27.
00:09 They beat the Jacksonville Jaguars here on Sunday afternoon down at the stadium.
00:13 Brendan Gulick, Anthony Meglin talking about new Browns quarterback Joe Flacco.
00:17 We can say it that way because he has been officially named starter for
00:20 the rest of the season.
00:21 Kevin Stefanski said so in his post game press conference.
00:24 Joe had a good day, 26-45 for 311, three touchdowns, one interception, and
00:29 one loss fumble.
00:30 It certainly wasn't a perfect day, but Anthony, I thought he played really well.
00:33 And certainly, there's a lot of people feeling quite a bit more confident about
00:37 where this team is going down the stretch of the season here with four games left.
00:41 >> Yeah, no question, he was awesome to watch today.
00:43 Yes, he had two turnovers.
00:44 I thought the interception was tough.
00:47 Cedric Tillman got run into by a defender.
00:49 It could have been PI, I'm okay with it not being PI, but it was like, hey,
00:52 decision's fine, whatever.
00:54 But was spreading the ball around the field, hitting open guys,
00:57 making big plays in key moments, right?
00:59 Third down, third and long, fourth down,
01:02 just doing things necessary to win football games.
01:04 And sometimes when you do that,
01:05 maybe you don't have the best completion percentage.
01:07 But the ball is protected for the most part, and you can beat a playoff team in
01:12 a game that came down to the wire because of your quarterback play.
01:14 I thought he was very fun to watch this afternoon.
01:18 >> Browns win a game here for
01:20 the fourth time this season with a different starting quarterback.
01:23 It's only happened eight times since 1950 over the course of NFL history.
01:27 It's very difficult to win games consistently in this league when you don't
01:31 know if your starting quarterback's gonna be on any given week.
01:35 It was a really impressive week for the Browns against a very good team.
01:39 Jacksonville's certainly the kind of team that you better be ready to go against,
01:43 because this team is probably playoff bound.
01:47 I would say there's a pretty good chance that we're gonna see them make
01:51 the postseason.
01:52 I don't know for sure, but I'm not sure that we've seen a better team in the AFC
01:56 South now that we've had a chance to see almost that whole division outside of
01:59 Houston.
02:00 They're really good, and the Browns, frankly,
02:04 needed a win over a team like this because of potential tiebreakers too.
02:08 >> Yeah, absolutely, and for the conversation about Joe Flacco,
02:13 obviously he was on his couch three weeks ago, that's all part of the story.
02:17 But getting to a facility and look at his wide receivers,
02:20 he's met these guys for two weeks.
02:22 He knows them for two weeks long, and he's known Elijah Moore now for two years.
02:26 He played with him in New York, so they have that connection.
02:28 But last week, he was a little Elijah Moore heavy.
02:31 Yeah, he threw the ball to him 12 times, Amari Cooper was out, but
02:34 still he had nine different guys catch the football.
02:37 Today, totally different story.
02:38 Elijah Moore was kind of taken away.
02:40 David Njoku has a career day, right?
02:42 Six catches, 91 yards, two scores.
02:43 Amari Cooper, seven catches on 14 targets, and
02:46 a lot of those could have been catches.
02:47 I thought there was a couple missed opportunities out there, but
02:50 eight different guys catch the football today, and eight different guys got targets.
02:54 It was just so awesome to see him spread the ball around with total strangers, and
02:59 just continue to put this team in great positions.
03:03 >> Total strangers, literally, we got a guy off the street,
03:06 he's never met any of these guys.
03:08 How is he doing it?
03:09 >> How is he doing this?
03:10 >> It's ridiculous.
03:11 The first drive of the game, I thought that was a great start, right?
03:15 You get an opportunity to get the ball first after losing the coin toss in
03:20 Jacksonville deferred, so your offense is out on the field.
03:23 And it's try to go play from out front, and that's exactly what they did.
03:27 And frankly, about as well as you could draw up a game opening drive.
03:32 Beautiful scoring play, Njoku didn't have anybody within 30 yards of him if he
03:36 dropped that ball.
03:37 Would have been a long day for 85, but thankfully hung on to it, and
03:41 it was off to the races.
03:42 >> Guess who's back to a guy that we haven't seen for
03:45 in about a year is Kevin Stefanski in his opening script, right?
03:49 We go back to last year when with Jacoby Bursette, it was every first quarter,
03:53 it was right down the field and there was points, okay?
03:55 Cuz the quarterback was just kind of taking what the defense was given to him.
03:59 When you get into a situation where you're going through four different guys,
04:02 you got the Sean Watson kind of figuring it out.
04:04 And then it's Dorian Thompson, Robinson, PJ Walker.
04:06 It's like, you gotta just scheme those games to win it.
04:09 Today it was like, again, for the second week in a row, they came out against LA,
04:13 right down the field touchdown, big one.
04:14 Then they come out again today, massive touchdown to Njoku.
04:17 And it's like, hey, Flacco's got it.
04:19 He's playing really well.
04:21 And him and Kevin, it seems like they made a joke.
04:23 But not only do they look like brothers, but
04:25 they're seeing the field- >> It's true.
04:27 >> Exactly the same way.
04:29 >> Great day for the Browns, 31-27, and Flacco is certainly leading the way for
04:32 Cleveland.
