The shop moved into the former Wilko store in West Street
Transcript
00:00 We're at Fairham for the new opening of the Poundland store.
00:03 Tell me about why you've moved premises
00:04 from just up the road here.
00:06 - So, better premises, bigger offer,
00:09 much broader scope, better building.
00:12 You know, we've got plenty of opportunities
00:14 to extend the range and show customers what we're all about.
00:17 - There's also the fact that as a company,
00:19 we've taken on over 70 of these sites,
00:21 so we've managed to reinvest back into the community,
00:24 open up stores that were closed down
00:25 and the products remained redundant.
00:27 And we've also managed to take on all the products
00:29 that remained redundant in the store as well.
00:30 So we've invested back in the community.
00:32 - So the guys who are working here for Wilkinsons
00:34 are now employed by you?
00:35 - Yes.
00:35 - Fantastic.
00:36 And you mentioned you extended your range.
00:37 What can we expect to see in this store
00:39 that you haven't had previously?
00:40 - We've got clothing in here,
00:41 we've got a far bigger range on the Poundland core products
00:45 than what we have around the corner.
00:47 And then coming in the new year,
00:48 we'll have fresh food and frozen food coming in as well.
00:51 - Fantastic.
00:52 Well, there's an eager queue at nine o'clock
00:53 on a rainy morning, so it looks good
00:55 and wish you all the best.
00:56 Thank you very much.
00:57 - Thank you very much.
