A man has been sentenced to 18 years in prison after he was found guilty of multiple sex offences against a child. Work to improve Queen Victoria Road are due to start at the beginning of next year. National Trust says seeds from Sycamore Gap tree are showing good signs.

00:11 Scott Daniels was charged with three counts or more of rape of a child and many more charges.
00:17 Daniels has now been jailed and given a restraining order preventing him to have contact with
00:21 the victim and will be on the sex offenders register for life.
00:25 Works to improve Queen Victoria Road are due to start at the beginning of next year.
00:29 The work is part of nearly £3 million worth of investment and it will see a new cycle
00:34 track, safer crossing points and signalised junctions.
00:38 And finally, the National Trust have said that the seeds salvaged from the Sycamore
00:41 Gap tree are showing good signs.
00:43 The Sycamore Gap tree was felled in September and teams managed to collect seeds in the
00:48 hopes to plant more trees.
00:50 They are now looking at ways to honour the iconic tree.
