00:00 Operation AGIS is a joint operation between the Australian Federal Police and Australian
00:08 Border Force.
00:09 They are joint partners in Operation AGIS to manage the movement of the detainees across
00:18 Australia.
00:21 Operation AGIS also flows information into all the states, including Saipol.
00:26 My position is the representative for the national coordination.
00:32 The information that they give us is the pending release, the immediate release and personal
00:40 details of the individuals, including their first place of residence.
00:45 So we've got a place to go to visit them.
00:49 So far I think there's about 145, 140 odd.
00:54 All of those are entered onto our system, regardless of whether they are in South Australia,
00:59 living in South Australia or intend to come to South Australia.
01:02 They're all on because if they drift across the border or they are allowed to travel and
01:09 a patrol or a station or a call centre engages with them, that will be immediately reported
01:16 to my area so we're aware of the person who's in the state, why they're here, what they're
01:21 doing and if they're complying with any restrictions that they've got.
01:25 Of the 145, we have six in South Australia at the moment, one in jail and five not.
01:35 And the way that we've allocated it in crime service to give the public reassurance, it's
01:43 being handled by the experts in the public protection branch.
01:46 So the public protection branch, they have a section called the offender management section.
01:53 That section has detectives and uniform that manage NCOR child sex offender register persons.
02:02 They liaise and manage with the police correction section for prisoners, normal prisoners.
02:09 They also manage the high risk offenders on the offender management plan.
02:14 And within that branch, they're also responsible for the investigation of sexual offences.
