00:00 at the Etihad Stadium after what was surely one of the games of the season so far between
00:04 Manchester City and Spurs. Tottenham earning a last gasp 3-0 draw thanks to Dejan Kulishevski's
00:10 header and one which in the circumstances was hugely commendable and not undeserved. Spurs
00:16 came here without 11 first team players including James Madison, the suspended Christian Romero,
00:20 Micky van der Ven and Rodrigo Bentancourt who was the latest to suffer a long-term injury against
00:25 Villa last weekend and of course on the back of three straight defeats which had left Postokoglou
00:31 under a degree of pressure and with his tactics under scrutiny. But the Australian vowed he was
00:36 going to keep playing his attacking football before the game and that's exactly what his side
00:39 did. They always carried a threat against this Manchester City side and got their just desert
00:46 for pushing forward when Kulishevski met Brennan Johnson's header. It was a wildly entertaining
00:52 game that demonstrated both the pitfalls I think and the huge benefits of playing Postokoglou's way.
00:58 They were caught in possession trying to play out through Yves Pessuma for the City goal to make it
01:02 3-2. Jack Grealish scored it but as I said they kept going forward and were rewarded for that
01:08 attacking intent with a really really credible point at the last. It ends that run of three
01:14 straight defeats and Spurs can now look forward I think with much more optimism to Thursday's game
01:19 against West Ham. Cristiano Romero will be back from suspension, Richarlison who made a late cameo
01:23 should be available and Pape Sarr may be in the running as well as Postokoglou's injury crisis
01:29 eases. But tonight was a vindication of Postokoglou's approach and proof that it will
01:34 result even in the toughest of circumstances.
