00:00 I want to kick this off because this is a fantastic day for the Morrison area, the Greater
00:04 Morrison area.
00:05 We've been working for a long time with the local council, with businesses in the area
00:12 who want to invest in the area, but also listening to local residents who have been complaining
00:18 about the state of the roads around here and the growing congestion.
00:21 So it's a fantastic day.
00:22 Mandalong Road has been in desperate need of this injection of cash for a long time.
00:30 It's finally coming along, so I just want to thank everybody for what they've done to
00:34 deliver this outcome for us.
00:35 It's a very, very significant project.
00:36 It's going to drive not just relief on the roads for local residents, but it's going
00:37 to drive investment in the local area.
00:38 So we've got up to $94 million going towards this road upgrade.
00:39 Now this is with a $56 million commitment from the Commonwealth.
00:40 Today I can announce that the New South Wales Government will commit $20 million towards
00:57 the development of Mandalong Road, and we will obviously see a commitment locally from
01:02 the local council.
01:03 Today we're going to see a dual carriageway.
01:04 We're going to see two lanes in each direction from the Pacific motorway right through New
01:05 South Wales.
01:06 And this is significant.
01:07 This will unlock potential along Mandalong Road for more land release, in particular
01:08 the commercial land release.
01:09 We could see freight hubs built here.
01:10 It's a brilliant spot to live.
01:11 And we need to ensure that we can harness the jobs of the future, whether that be in
01:12 freight, whether that be the connectivity of the Pacific motorway.
01:13 And that's exactly what this investment in this road will do.
01:14 This is a great opportunity for us to get the people involved.
