00:02 >> How's your offense evolved, especially how they're using Ross
00:07 since the beginning of the season?
00:10 >> Yeah, we've been putting less on his plate.
00:13 We're trying to incorporate more of their running game and
00:17 trying to be a little bit more balanced in that way.
00:20 And I feel like he has to do absolutely everything.
00:23 He's talented and he can win games for them by himself.
00:28 There's a lot of guys that take some of that pressure.
00:30 >> What are the things that make Russ so special and
00:36 kind of off so many of them?
00:41 >> Unique accuracy, being able to stay in the pocket, make throws.
00:46 Get out of the pocket, scramble, stay behind the line, make throws, but
00:51 also get yards with his legs.
00:55 Unique vision, those long balls as well.
01:00 >> You said the season's moving along, we're ten games in, this is game 11.
01:04 How's your body holding up compared to when you were at this point in your past?
01:09 >> Feel terrible.
01:11 Everything hurts, shoulder hurts, but we gotta keep on going.
01:17 Keep on rolling until the wheels fall off, man.
01:20 We're having great success and enjoying how this team is really coming together,
01:26 especially down the stretch.
01:27 And we're gonna continue to keep on working hard to be fresh and
01:31 fit whenever we get to some days.
01:34 >> Miles, you guys have always had to take on the next man up mentality with
01:38 Denzel not being in the secondary.
01:39 How can you guys up front offset not having him out there?
01:45 >> I mean, they make it easier for us when they extend the amount of time that
01:49 the quarterback has to hold the ball, and
01:50 we make their jobs easier by getting to them quicker.
01:53 So we gotta rush, no fanatical effort, continue to fight and
01:57 don't have an internal plot, this guy can extend plays and will extend plays.
02:02 So we'll continue hunting.
02:04 >> You guys have a lot of momentum with the way you're playing.
02:06 What's the message to the defense going on the road here?
02:10 >> Standard is a standard.
02:11 We don't care about any weather, any altitude.
02:16 We're gonna play at the same level, which we've been playing at, and if not better.
02:22 >> Can I ask you about the fact that you guys are embarking on another long road
02:27 trip, and this will be the 30th or something like that of the season.
02:33 So even Saturday, not coming back until basically December 30th.
02:38 What are your thoughts on that?
02:39 And do you think that this could be another team bonding experience to get
02:44 you through the whole stretch?
02:46 >> If we look at it that way, it could be, but it's a matter of using it as
02:50 a business trip, not going out there and trying to keep it with your friends and
02:57 get your mind off the ball, set the time for that.
02:59 It's time to lock in,
03:02 really get that chemistry with your guys, your offense, defense, special teams.
03:09 Use this to your benefit, not to your detriment, and
03:12 allow this time to be beneficial for all of us.
03:17 Have another time like this where coach can believe that we can do the right thing
03:21 and play the way we're supposed to.
03:24 >> Once it's come together for Denver offensively here,
03:27 they had real slow start to the season.
03:29 But just in recent weeks, they've kind of been picking things up.
03:33 Just what do you see when you watch them on film?
03:36 >> They're taking the momentum from their defense and using it well.
03:40 They've been putting them in great field position and
03:41 they're capitalizing on that.
03:44 The defense is taking the ball away.
03:45 I think recently the highest clip of anyone in the league.
03:48 So the offense is just being there for them, whether it's three or six,
03:55 they're putting points on the board.
03:56 And once they continue to stack those big momentum plays,
04:03 offense putting the ball in, that's when the defense can really go hunt.
04:06 I think that's really what sets them apart of late.
04:10 >> Do you have to treat Russell because of his mobility?
04:13 Do you kind of treat him the same way you approach playing against Lamar and
04:19 some of these other mobile guys?
04:22 >> No.
04:23 >> [LAUGH] >> He don't move like Lamar,
04:27 he move like Russell.
04:29 And there's no shame in that.
04:31 He's been great at doing that.
04:33 >> Did you chase after Joe Flacco just for all time sake this week?
04:38 >> I stalked him a little bit.
04:40 >> [LAUGH] >> Three yards behind him just in case.
04:44 He got any bright ideas.
04:46 >> He says you're less intimidating without the pads on in the locker room.
04:50 >> Right?
04:51 I look like a regular guy on the street.
04:52 >> [LAUGH] >> How much you guys have been
04:56 number one defense since week one?
04:59 What's the mentality you carry that week in and week out?
05:05 >> That's just a planking and a ranking, but look at the film.
05:09 It can only continue to be better.
05:11 And you don't have to look at the stats,
05:14 cuz stats don't always tell the whole story.
05:17 Did you do your best at play?
05:18 Did you execute at the highest level?
05:20 If you can't say that you did or that you have, continue to improve,
05:24 continue to elevate your brother.
05:27 And we still have a way we can improve and
05:33 even be great as a defense.
05:37 I think there's still another level, like I said, but
05:40 everyone has to be accountable for that.
05:43 >> Why does it seem like that every player in the locker room to a man
05:49 really has a firm belief that you guys are just gonna keep rolling right along,
05:55 even though you've lost so many elite players and now you're number one?
06:01 >> That's what a great team's doing, they find a way to win.
06:04 It's an X-Man mentality.
06:07 And it's a matter of those guys completely believing that I'm up this,
06:12 my moment to shine.
06:14 If you're on the field, it's your opportunity to make the most of it,
06:18 to beat that game changer, game wrecker.
06:21 And continue to set the tone for yourself, for the team,
06:25 anyone else who steps up to the role.
06:28 >> A couple more, will you be coming off the edge,
06:30 stand on your elbow, blowing the dumplings out?
06:32 >> [LAUGH] >> You did that one game.
06:35 >> Boy, you trying to give away trades against my brother?
06:38 >> [LAUGH] >> Let me ask you this.
06:40 The one game when Denzel got hurt, you did it, at least a couple of times.
06:43 Usually guys your size aren't coming off the edge.
06:46 So I guess how unique is that, and
06:47 do you feel like you can come off the edge and get one?
06:51 >> I can definitely go off the edge and get one.
06:53 It's a matter of how much tension they're gonna show me,
06:56 whether he's gonna flick him in and open up the gap for someone else.
07:00 Or he continues to play it as he normally would and
07:04 allow me to dive and get one.
07:06 So it's just been productive up to this point.
07:10 So we may continue to look at it, but I might go back to my normal size.
07:14 >> I feel like a trip to LA, a week in LA,
07:18 could potentially lend itself to guys maybe losing a little bit of focus on
07:24 what's important for you right now and everybody kind of has to find it within
07:27 themselves to buckle down and kind of forget that you're in LA.
07:33 >> I think we'll do a good job of keeping everyone locked in.
07:37 I think everyone knows what we're trying to achieve and
07:39 what we're trying to do with this season.
07:41 And no one's going there with the wrong mindset or intention.
07:44 >> So you guys talk a lot about mindset and how close you guys are as a unit.
07:51 I feel like it's maybe a little more prevalent in the college game where there's
07:55 a brotherhood in the locker room.
07:56 The NFL, this is a little more of a, hey, we're here to do a job.
08:00 And if we all like each other, that's a good thing.
08:03 That culture that you guys have sort of established for yourself,
08:06 how natural was that among you?
08:08 And how much did you have to kind of work at that as a group to make this
08:12 a team that you guys really enjoy playing around?
08:15 >> I think that came very naturally.
08:17 It's not a matter of continue to be that.
08:20 Now, there are gonna be adversity on and off the field and
08:23 you have to continue to stay together as a brotherhood and as a team.
08:28 That doesn't happen very often, at least from what I've seen on D-line or
08:33 defense inside of the ball.
08:34 So when you have a special sort of chemistry like that,
08:39 you gotta hold on to it and gotta bring guys back and
08:43 send them when we get away from who we are and what we've been throughout the season.
08:48 So it's special and we need to realize that, acknowledge it,
08:53 and continue to use to our benefit.
08:56 >> Is this a shoulder injury that you said hurt his body a little bit?
09:00 Is this something new from this season or do you sort of have a walk down the road?
09:03 Thank you.
09:06 >> I'm just old.
09:07 >> [LAUGH]
09:10 >> I mean, Bravo is like, how old are you, 26?
09:14 I'll be 28 by the end of the year.
09:15 >> [LAUGH]
09:17 >> Yeah, I appreciate looking like 26.
09:19 >> [LAUGH]
