00:00 The Armed Forces of the Philippines denied the joint patrol of the United States and the Philippines

00:05 that the tensions in the West Philippine Sea are serious.

00:08 This was followed by the sighting of several aircrafts and ships of China in the middle of the joint patrol.

00:12 This is the news of June Veneration.

00:15 Following the flight of the fighter jets of the Philippines and the United States in the West Philippine Sea

00:23 as a symbol of their joint sea and air patrol,

00:26 the P-8 Poseidon surveillance aircraft of the US Navy flew

00:31 with several media to serve as an eye in the sky.

00:34 From the top of 10,000 feet, the aircraft observed the two warships of the United States

00:40 and the next ship of the Philippines.

00:43 A Chinese frigate that flew to the US ships at a distance of 5 miles

00:50 and was inside the exclusive economic zone of the Philippines was also seen from here.

00:53 But it seems that the surveillance aircraft of the US was hit by a Chinese aircraft

00:59 that seemed to be using air and sea assets in the joint patrol.

01:03 Aside from that, there was no radio challenge or other aggressive actions that China usually does.

01:20 Aside from surveillance, the P-8 Poseidon can also detect submarines under the sea

01:25 using a high-tech camera that can zoom even from a distance.

01:29 This is the same surveillance plane of the US that was seen in their resupply mission to the Philippines in Eugene Shoal

01:35 and witnessed the Chinese ships blocking the Philippine ships and the use of water cannons.

01:42 After almost 4 hours of aerial surveillance, the P-8 Poseidon returned to Clark Air Base.

01:48 All mission objectives were met today.

01:51 We got out and conducted our normal routine patrol of the area.

01:57 Happy to announce it was a mission success.

01:59 President Bongbong Marcos said earlier that the situation in the West Philippine Sea is serious

02:05 and that cooperation between the Philippines and its allies like the United States is needed.

02:11 These combined maritime activities between the US and the Philippines

02:15 and the added assets of the air assets just greatly enhances the evolution of our alliance.

02:22 The AFP clarified that the joint maritime activity was not intended to increase tensions in the West Philippine Sea

02:28 but to strengthen the sovereign rights of the Philippines.

02:32 The National Economic and Development Authority, or NEDA, believes that the joint patrol can help the economy.

02:38 The world trade is very much dependent on peace and especially on navigation.

02:46 And so, I think as we contribute in our region to getting that stability,

02:54 trades will be promoted.
