Defender 90 used to refer to the length of the wheelbase in inches. Now, the Defender 90 sits on a ~100" wheelbase, so it's not really true any longer. But, my theory is that if your kid could design a new SUV today, it would look exactly like this.

Paul Maric reviews the 2021 Land Rover Defender 90 P300 to see what this pint-sized SUV is like both on- and off-road.

00:00 G'day, I'm Paul. So if you have a kid and they could design a matchbox car SUV,
00:05 I reckon that is pretty much exactly what it would look like. It is the Land Rover Defender 90.
00:11 So they have the 90 and the 110, the 110 being longer, the 90 being shorter, and this is a two-door instead of a four-door
00:18 like the 110. This right here is the second from base model. It's called the Defender 90S. It's priced at a little over
00:26 $70,000, but if this is a little too expensive, the whole range kicks off from around
00:30 $70,000. This competes with things like the BMW X3, the Audi Q5, and the Mercedes-Benz GLC.
00:38 Obviously those cars aren't available as two-doors, but in terms of proportions and stuff, this is kind of similar to those.
00:44 Today we're going to do a detailed review of this car. If you want to skip ahead to other parts of the review,
00:48 you can use the time codes up on the screen, or if you're on YouTube, just scroll down and use the chapters below. If you
00:53 haven't done so already, I'd love it if you could subscribe to our channel and press the bell icon because that's going to tell you
00:58 every single time we drive one of these matchbox style cars.
01:01 So you've got 10 external colors to pick from, all but base flat white are from
01:08 $2,000 and up. I love that you've got a big Defender insignia along the front there.
01:13 I would have loved to see some metal grilles along the top here instead of this plastic stuff, at least as an option, and I'm
01:19 sure you could probably retrofit them. These likely just snap out and you can pop something else in there.
01:23 I think that would really complete the look. Down the front here you have different offsets of colors,
01:28 so that little grille there
01:29 just has a little bit of piano black down the bottom, and then you've got the silver elements that sort of
01:33 continue as you cascade down the grille there. Over here you have a full set of LED headlights.
01:39 I do like with these LED headlights how they've kept with the old-school
01:43 reflector beam at the back there, so it kind of makes you think that this doesn't have LED headlights,
01:48 but they're all nestled in there nicely.
01:49 You've got LED daytime running lights, and if we come around to the side,
01:53 this is where you'll normally find 19-inch alloy wheels,
01:56 but this has the 18-inch steel wheel option, and I reckon that looks really cool.
02:01 You know, steel wheels were always reserved for the cheapest of cheap,
02:04 but they've kind of gone retro here and they have a resurgence in terms of, you know, being fashionable again.
02:11 This also has the no-cost option all-terrain tires. This is the package
02:15 I'd be picking if you're going to be doing off-road driving, because you've got big chunky tread pattern there.
02:19 It means that if they do get filled with mud, you're going to spend more time moving rather than completely stationary.
02:25 Big flared wheel arches here to show everyone that you're going to be driving off-road.
02:29 This is all blanked, but the other side is open for a snorkel if you do want to have it fitted as an accessory.
02:34 Over on the side here, piano black on that wing mirror, and then you can see here the two body colors are separate.
02:40 You can get different colors on the roof, and this particular car,
02:43 where you can't see it, has a roof that actually opens. So instead of being a sunroof, which is very traditional,
02:48 this is kind of like a Jeep Wrangler, where it actually has a folding hard top that pulls back,
02:53 so it sort of exposes you to the outer elements.
02:56 And then of course, this is where your door would normally be in the 110 version.
03:00 So you have a slightly bigger door here in the 90, and then you climb into the second row.
03:04 Around the back here, you have a full set of LED tail lights,
03:06 just like the 110. Your spare tire sits on the rear of the vehicle.
03:10 Now the good news about the 90 is that it will also tow three and a half tons with braked towing.
03:14 That means you can actually tow the same as you would with the 110,
03:18 so not really compromising anything in terms of off-road ability or towing, if you do go for the smaller version.
03:23 And just like the 110, it's a swing open tailgate that I'll show you later on.
03:27 What do you reckon about the design? Do you think it looks good?
03:29 Do you prefer the 90 over the 110, or are you gonna wait for the 130, which will be
03:34 positively huge by the time it gets here? By the way, one more thing. Have a look at the camera up there.
03:39 I'll show you how that works when we get inside the cabin.
03:41 So we're inside the Defender 90. If you've seen our review of the 110, if you haven't, click up here to watch that.
03:46 This will all look pretty familiar, but we'll run through it again anyway. So this is the key. You've got lock,
03:52 unlock, a button to turn the headlights on, a boot release, a panic button, and then the Land Rover symbol on the back there.
04:00 Proximity sensing key, so pocket, and then you've got a start button inside here.
04:06 Now, what about the styling? To be honest, if Land Rover went to
04:10 reinvent the Defender and went as crazy as they have in terms of the appearance,
04:15 it had to really look cool and also be functional, and I think that's what this interior is all about.
04:20 You've got plenty of storage, and then they've used like exposed elements along here, like this magnesium, that you know,
04:26 it's integral to the car's structure, but you can also customize the color of these things.
04:31 I don't know about the the white inserts here on the steering wheel,
04:34 but the fact that you can make it your own means that you have a lot of options available to you to personalize it.
04:40 And in terms of the materials that they've used, you've got this soft rubber material along the top, a sort of faux leather beneath it,
04:46 got that exposed magnesium, and then it cascades down to the rubberized materials around the cabin, including around some of these controls.
04:53 Along the door here, you've got exposed rivets and then more of that material where you rest your arms.
04:58 So in terms of the touch points, though, this is firm but soft, and same story over on the door.
05:04 So those bits are nice. How soft are they? Well, we've got our durometer,
05:07 we've tested the main surfaces in this cabin.
05:10 If you want to see how this car compares to others that we've tested before, have a look at the link in the description.
05:15 Now, what about build quality?
05:17 Let's do our little test here. This is all absolutely solid. My go-to is it feels as solid as a tank,
05:24 but tell me in the comments below what's a better analogy to use for something that is as solid as this feels.
05:30 Let's talk infotainment. PIVI Pro is the new infotainment system used on JLR products.
05:36 This one here is a 10-inch version, but you can get the 11.4-inch version that debuted in the new F-PACE.
05:43 It's $210 as an option. Why would you not get that? It is amazing.
05:47 It's a curved screen and it just fills in this space beautifully. This one looks just a little small in comparison.
05:53 But anyway, same functionality between the two. So that means you have inbuilt satellite navigation.
05:58 In addition to that, you have smartphone mirroring in the form of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
06:03 Both of those are wired though, so you'll need a cable to connect. I'll show you what Android Auto looks like first.
06:08 There it is there.
06:10 Full screen integration pretty much. Nice and fast as well. All very zippy.
06:15 And this is what Apple CarPlay looks like. So same story, full screen integration and then very nice and snappy.
06:22 You have AM/FM, DAB+ digital radio along with a six-speaker sound system.
06:28 This also has the ability to do wireless remote software updates as well. So that's all part of this PV Pro package.
06:35 And it's an always-on system. So when you get inside the car, you don't have that lag of the old in-control system.
06:40 If you've seen our Range Rover review, you'll see how painfully slow this infotainment system used to be.
06:45 This is all brand new and works much, much better now.
06:48 There are also some off-road controls here that I'll run through later on when we go for a drive
06:52 that are all sort of displayed on this screen along with the screen ahead of the driver.
06:56 Speaking of which, the screen ahead of the driver is a 12.3-inch display.
07:00 It has your tacho, speedo and all of your critical elements.
07:03 You can customize this so you can have a single gauge there or a full map.
07:07 It's all up to the driver in terms of what they want to appear on the screen in front of them.
07:11 Moving on to safety, you have front and rear AEB with pedestrian detection,
07:17 with rear cross-traffic alert thrown in there just as a bonus as well.
07:21 This is the camera I was talking about before on the roof.
07:24 So you can either just have a normal rear vision mirror or you flick that and you can actually have the digital display.
07:29 I kind of like this. At night time, it gives you a far better view behind the car.
07:33 And yeah, it's just something a little bit different.
07:35 And then you can customize some of the settings in terms of where the camera points as well, depending on what you're doing.
07:40 So I like that you have the option of switching between those.
07:43 You have a lane keeping assistant and a lane departure warning, a blind spot monitor built into that wing mirror,
07:48 along with radar, cruise control and clear exit assistant,
07:52 which means if you try and open the door when there's another vehicle or cyclist coming,
07:56 it's going to prevent you from hitting those people as well.
07:59 In terms of parking, you have front and rear parking sensors and a 360 degree camera.
08:03 I'll show you what that looks like.
08:05 So 360 degree camera and I like that you can change angles and move around the car
08:10 and it shows you the graphic as the doors are open.
08:12 So if I open my door now, let's see how that lights up as well.
08:16 So I think that's a really clever setup.
08:19 And then you can simply click here to adjust your camera angles as you go.
08:22 So that's your on-road view.
08:24 You can then also use the off-road view, which is going to come in handy when you're looking at ruts and exactly where the car's going.
08:30 So yeah, we'll test that out when we do a bit of light off-roading as well.
08:35 So I've got a question for you, Die Hard Defender Tragics.
08:38 Do you think that this is a step too far or is this the right Defender as a replacement for the original?
08:44 Or will nothing ever replace the original Defender?
08:47 Let me know your thoughts on this generation of the Defender and whether it lives up to the name in the comments section.
08:52 Now, what about practicality?
08:53 And we'll start with charging your devices.
08:56 There is no wireless phone charging here.
08:57 It's optional, which is a little disappointing.
09:00 USB-A port along the top here, another USB-A port down here, a USB-C port and a 12 volt outlet.
09:06 In terms of storing your phone, well, your phone can kind of live anywhere.
09:11 Let's get rid of that.
09:12 You have stacks of storage, so you can pop it up here if you want.
09:15 There's space behind the screen.
09:17 There's space over on my side.
09:19 You've got cup holders that your phone can fit into.
09:22 This removes out of the way so your phone can go there.
09:25 Phone can stay down here.
09:26 There really is so many different places to store things in here, which is great.
09:31 And what about our cups?
09:32 Let's try our coffee cup in here.
09:34 Fits in beautifully.
09:36 What about our bottles?
09:37 Let's start with our normal size bottle.
09:39 No dramas in there.
09:40 You've got these rubber teeth that really just jam it in nicely.
09:43 Inside the door, you can easily fit a small bottle, but let's try our giant bottle.
09:51 That's cool. That fits in there as well, which is nice.
09:53 And then inside the door, fits in there too.
09:57 Excellent so far.
09:58 Then in terms of additional storage, you've got those spots that I mentioned over there.
10:01 A centre console here.
10:02 It's nice and deep, a big centre console.
10:05 You've got all of these spots that we already spoke about.
10:07 And then over here, you have a glove box.
10:09 It's okay.
10:10 It's not huge, but it's not small either.
10:12 And then a sunglasses holder along the top.
10:15 Now what about your comfort features?
10:16 You have dual zone automatic climate control.
10:19 You have kind of electric seat adjustments.
10:22 So this is electric, but the rest is manual adjustment.
10:26 Then the steering wheel is manually adjusted as well for both tilt and reach.
10:31 The seats themselves are pretty comfortable.
10:34 The only thing I found with them is the base is quite flat.
10:37 So you kind of move around a bit if you're going around corners.
10:40 It'd be nice if they were just a little more supportive about the base, but I love the
10:43 fact that they have this textured material.
10:45 It really is just a very different design and they look very hard wearing as well.
10:49 Now what about our reach test?
10:51 All easy to reach while you're driving.
10:53 Now second row, obviously you don't have any doors, so you've got to climb in through here.
10:58 So the seat just slides forward.
11:01 Climbing in isn't really that easy because you don't have side steps.
11:04 You have to kind of step on the door sill and work your way in.
11:08 Let's see how much legroom we've got here.
11:11 I'll slide this back.
11:13 Yeah, legroom's actually not too bad.
11:14 It doesn't feel like you have that much less sort of legroom than a 110.
11:19 So plenty of knee room.
11:20 Toe room is okay.
11:21 It's sort of a little sort of wedged in there, but headroom is reasonable.
11:26 I love these, the windows that allow you to see through.
11:29 It's kind of like a, like all windows obviously, but it's kind of a hark back to the old Defender,
11:33 old Discovery as well, where that sort of window was there.
11:36 So a little bit of heritage on display.
11:39 Handles here in case you're doing any off-road driving.
11:41 Another sort of handle here as well.
11:43 You've got bottle holders just down the bottom here with little rubber edges on them.
11:47 You've got a 5 volt USB outlet in the back of the seat, but down here you have two USB-C
11:52 outlets and then an additional two 12 volt outlets and then vent controls just there.
11:58 Have a look at this roof.
11:59 It's not a standard sunroof.
12:01 It's actually like a folding canvas roof.
12:03 So you push and hold and that opens all the way up.
12:05 It's kind of a pretty cool setup and something you don't really see in vehicles in this segment.
12:11 Got a center armrest here with two cup holders.
12:14 Bottle easily fits into there.
12:16 And then you've got two ISOFIX points with top tether points as well on the outboard
12:21 seat.
12:22 So look, despite getting in and out being a little tricky, the space back here is pretty
12:26 impressive and surprising when you look at this from the outside.
12:30 It actually looks, I don't know, it feels a whole lot bigger in here than it looks on
12:33 the outside, if that makes sense.
12:35 OK, cargo volume.
12:36 What are we talking?
12:37 You've got around 400 litres to work with here.
12:40 It's not the most generous space in the world, but given you're making the compromise in
12:44 terms of overall length, it's not too bad.
12:47 So I'll explain what this is in a sec, but under the floor here you have the jack and
12:51 a little bit of extra storage.
12:53 You can expand the space a little further if you want by dropping this second row.
12:57 So I'll show you what that looks like.
13:00 Pop that out of the way.
13:01 It expands the space to around 1600 litres and I'll show you what it looks like with
13:05 the bags in there.
13:10 So they comfortably fit in even with the seats up, which is good.
13:13 But this little device off to the side is really interesting.
13:18 So as part of the myriad options you can get with the Defender, one of the things you can
13:23 get that is going to come in handy for off-roading is an integrated air compressor.
13:27 So that sits off to the side here and it also comes with this coil of piping.
13:35 So all you do is take that out, plug one end into your compressor, one end into your tyres
13:41 and it means that you can go do off-roading without needing to carry a compressor around
13:45 with you.
13:46 So this stuff is absolutely genius and look I know that you pay a lot of money for the
13:50 Defender but the fact that you can option these things to make your life easier and
13:55 tick whatever boxes you want to suit your lifestyle means that you're going to get some
13:59 excellent value out of the car.
14:00 In terms of other bits and pieces you have, you've got hooks off to the side, a 12 volt
14:04 outlet plus hooks down the bottom as well if you need to tie anything down.
14:08 So yeah, not a huge load space but at the end of the day you are getting a smaller vehicle.
14:13 You can drop that second row and then load in whatever you need to load in.
14:17 We've hit the road in the Defender 90.
14:20 Powering this particular version of the P300S is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged
14:26 petrol engine.
14:27 It's called the Ingenium, it's the new sort of era of smaller capacity engines for Land
14:32 Rover and it's an interesting combination because in this body you can get everything
14:36 from this four-cylinder petrol all the way up to a supercharged V8 and there's rumours
14:41 of a twin-turbo V8 from BMW coming as well.
14:44 So it is a pretty incredible platform in terms of its versatility and you can see why it's
14:49 cost so much to put it into play.
14:51 In terms of power and torque, 221 kilowatts of power and 400 newton-metres of torque.
14:56 It weighs a little over two tonnes, so sort of behind the wheel here it's generally pretty
15:00 adequate and if you give it a kick, it feels pretty good too.
15:05 Like it's not really an engine that sits around napping but it does have those sudden surges
15:10 of torque so if you slow down and then give it a kick it's sort of a little lazier than
15:16 it sort of pushes you into the back and then gets moving.
15:18 And that's all mated to an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission, excellent gearbox,
15:23 does a great job of managing things, you don't have the fustiness of a dual-clutch gearbox
15:28 slowing things down.
15:29 Land Rover claims a combined fuel economy of 10.1 litres per 100km, we're currently
15:34 seeing 11.2, so it's near enough to that figure.
15:39 Keep in mind the more city driving you do with a car that weighs this much, the I guess
15:43 exponentially more fuel you're going to use in the long run.
15:46 Now what about your drive modes?
15:48 You really don't have any, one click of this allows you to select the drive modes, you
15:51 have Eco and Comfort for on-road driving, there are some off-road drive modes though
15:55 and we'll check those out once we do a little bit of light off-roading.
15:58 Land Rover claims a 0-100 time of 7.1 seconds, we've put it up against our stopwatch to see
16:04 how it goes.
16:05 OK, let's talk handling, we've got our corner coming up here, throw it through here,
16:18 hey that's pretty good.
16:20 So I mentioned with the 110 when we reviewed that, that the handling was incredible for
16:25 such a big car, this feels kind of the same but it has a really weird feeling behind the
16:29 wheel, because of the short wheelbase, it kind of feels like it's turning on a dime
16:34 so you're getting a whole lot of turn with not a whole lot of steering input which is
16:38 kind of weird for an off-road focused vehicle, normally you have to turn heaps to make it
16:42 do anything so yeah on the handling front it's actually pretty good.
16:45 So it is worth keeping in mind that Land Rover offers Defender with air suspension and without
16:50 air suspension, so standard is coil sprung and then optional is air suspension in this
16:54 spec.
16:55 I was expecting this to be pretty terrible but it's surprisingly good, it's not quite
16:59 as refined as the air suspension models but sitting on 18 inch alloy wheels with a decent
17:04 profile tyre, they've tuned it beautifully so it's not overly sporty but it's not overly
17:09 soft either, it has that sort of nice little middle ground so in and around the city it
17:13 feels compliant, cobblestones, speed humps, whatever you throw at it it's all good, then
17:17 out here in the country if you sort of drop a wheel off the edge it's not going to rattle
17:20 your teeth out or make you feel like the car is going to float off the side of the road.
17:24 In terms of wind noise, you get wind noise from all over the place really, you're getting
17:29 it from the wing mirrors but this roof lets in so much noise because it's not a traditional
17:33 sunroof that's properly sealed, you get a lot of noise filtering in through there.
17:39 It's fine, I mean it's not the end of the world but obviously don't be optioning that
17:43 roof if you want a quiet and serene cabin.
17:46 Now what about visibility?
17:47 It is good that we have this digital mirror option because to be honest when it is switched
17:54 off I can't see anything out the back, those headrests in the second row just block all
17:59 the vision and then the tyre just blocks everything else so you have to have that switched on
18:04 otherwise you don't really see anything which is I think a little bit disappointing, I think
18:08 they could have probably spent a little bit more time engineering that so you could actually
18:12 see out the back properly.
18:14 Finally turning circle, 11.3 metres because this is on a short wheelbase you can just
18:18 turn on a dime, it's great, you can just throw it in here, yank it around and then it's
18:23 spins about, that is pretty remarkable for an off-road focused SUV.
18:28 So I know the Defender is good on road and all that sort of stuff but it's built for
18:32 off-road so we're going to do just a little bit of light off-roading here on Log Mountain
18:36 and then we'll come down the other end and do our Seesaw Plus Offset mogul.
18:41 In terms of the four wheel drive specs you have a centre diff lock and a rear diff lock
18:46 in this version, it's been optioned in.
18:47 You also have a low range transfer case and then terrain response which allows you to
18:52 go between a number of different drive modes.
18:53 So you've got grass, gravel, snow, you have mud ruts, you have sand and rock crawl.
18:59 Each of those will adjust what the car does in terms of the traction control and some
19:03 of the modes even give you suggestions about which settings the car should be in, so some
19:07 require low range, some don't.
19:09 And then in addition to that you have a 31 degree approach angle, that's the angle of
19:13 the face you can approach with the front of the car before you hit anything and a 37.9
19:17 degree departure angle, that's pretty insane.
19:20 You have a wading depth of 900mm and a ground clearance of 225mm.
19:25 If none of that makes any sense to you, you can click up here to watch our four wheel
19:28 drive controls explained video where we run through a little bit of that.
19:32 Let's give this a shot, so it's pretty wet here today, it should walk up here fairly
19:36 easily, I might actually just change our terrain response mode to, let's go with mud ruts.
19:43 So I can see immediately there on the screen in front of me, it's got the centre diff mostly
19:47 locked, the rear diff locked now as well.
19:49 I love the way it does this, this screen ahead of the driver is great, so it's showing us
19:52 our incline, currently 15 degrees as we start climbing the logs here.
19:59 This is really fuss free, 18, 19, 20 degrees.
20:03 A little stuck here.
20:06 Come on.
20:08 Oh, as we slide to the right, I'm going to go back down and we'll have another crack
20:14 at that.
20:17 It's also got, when it's in this mud ruts program, hill descent control in forward and
20:22 reverse, so it's got you fully covered there.
20:24 I think we'll probably just need just a tiny bit more momentum up here and we should be
20:27 fine.
20:28 Give this another crack, alright, here we go.
20:37 There we go, momentum does it.
20:38 So with the coil springs, it's actually quite comfortable, even on the jarring logs, it
20:43 gets up there, no dramas.
20:45 Now with the hill descent control, you can actually adjust the speed it operates at using
20:49 the cruise control.
20:50 So we can go up and down and you can see the little light changes there telling you what
20:54 speed it's going to go.
20:55 So I'm going to go at the lowest speed possible down here.
20:58 That's fantastic, it's just crawling down nice and gently, it's not running away from
21:04 me.
21:05 And I love having control over the speed because you find with sections like this where you
21:08 have giant holes that come out of nowhere, you don't want to be attacking those at speed,
21:14 especially if you've got hill descent control on and the car's just running rampant.
21:18 So yeah look, that was bloody good, very impressed with that.
21:23 OK, next up we're going to see what the body rigidity is like.
21:26 We have this sort of seesaw set up here.
21:29 I'll just chuck this in over here.
21:31 This is actually a good chance for us to have a look at our camera, our off-road camera.
21:35 So that's sort of telling us exactly what the car's doing.
21:38 I can see everything appearing on the screen there, it's telling me what our diffs are
21:42 doing as well, which is pretty cool.
21:44 Alrighty, so let's get the car in a little crisscross here, which is around there somewhere.
21:52 So it's sort of moving around on its own accord.
21:54 We'll try open and close the door, see how rigid that chassis is.
21:58 No problems at all.
21:59 Now you may think that test is stupid, but I have driven a few different cars here before
22:03 where the door refuses to close when we do that.
22:07 So yeah, let's move on now to our Offset Mogul.
22:11 This is going to test how well the rear diff lock works here.
22:14 So we're still in high range, but what we're going to get here is a situation where we
22:18 have two tyres off the ground and the car's going to have to sort itself out in terms
22:22 of the diff lock.
22:23 So as we get up to the point where we're off the ground, which is right about there, we're
22:30 at full flex, we have two wheels off the ground.
22:33 Now what I'm going to do is let my foot off the brake and we'll see what the car does
22:36 here in terms of getting us out of this bind.
22:39 It should in theory just keep the rear diff locked and that should give us more than enough
22:43 juice to get out of here.
22:44 So I'm just rolling off the brake now.
22:48 Piece of cake.
22:49 It has literally done all of that on its own.
22:50 I haven't had to press one button here to encourage it to lock a rear diff.
22:54 It's sensed that it needs to and then it's just done it all on its own.
22:57 So bloody impressive.
22:59 Now I reckon that that all wasn't really hard enough for the Defender, so I'm going to try
23:03 going back up our hill where we have big divots and ruts and I want to see how far we can
23:09 get just in this program here before we have to go into low range and all that sort of
23:13 stuff.
23:14 In theory we should struggle a little bit as we get into that sort of crisscross mode,
23:18 so let's give this a shot.
23:19 So I'm going to leave it all in that mud ruts program.
23:22 Approach this here.
23:25 Drop a wheel into that rut just there.
23:31 Look at this.
23:34 Not a drama in the world.
23:43 So what happened there was the car was sending us off that way.
23:46 Because it's such a short wheelbase it gets a wheel up in the air pretty quickly, so we'll
23:50 give that one more shot just with a slight bit more momentum.
23:58 So centre diff locked, rear diff locked.
24:01 There we are, piece of cake.
24:04 It just needed a little bit more momentum but we got there in the end.
24:07 So yeah look I think I've said this before in one of our other videos, this is not like
24:12 a super super hardcore four wheel drive course but this is probably the limit to what most
24:16 people are going to do in their vehicle and look at passes with flying colours all you
24:21 have to do is just set the mode that you want.
24:23 It does everything else.
24:24 It's able to lock the diffs.
24:25 It's able to do everything that you need it to do.
24:28 All you have to do is just sit behind the wheel, press some brake pedal and throttle
24:31 and away you go.
24:32 So the Land Rover Defender 90.
24:34 I think this has met my expectations.
24:36 It is just a fun little you know go anywhere expensive luxury version of a Suzuki Jimny.
24:42 It sort of has all those character traits.
24:44 It's easy to park, easy to manoeuvre, fun to drive and then it'll go to off-road stuff.
24:48 There are so many accessories you can get now for the Defender both from Land Rover
24:52 and aftermarket but if you really wanted to go anywhere this is the type of vehicle that
24:56 you could just load up and just head out into the bush somewhere and just have the time
25:00 of your life.
25:01 I love the interior.
25:02 I do wish they would make that big infotainment system standard.
25:05 At least it's only a $200 option but people need to know about it to know that it exists
25:09 and it really transforms that interior.
25:11 Outside of that it is just such a nice car to drive and such a nice place to be seated.
25:16 I am, I don't know, I prefer the 110 but I can see why people would get the 90.
25:21 It sort of just ticks all those boxes.
25:22 If it was my money though I'd be going for the six-cylinder diesel.
25:25 It is a sensational package and I think it really rounds out this vehicle.
25:29 It makes it even more fun to drive and it's still fairly efficient as well.
25:33 So let me know in the comments section below what do you reckon about the Defender?
25:36 Have you had a drive of one?
25:38 Did you buy one?
25:39 Did you buy something else?
25:40 Really keen for your feedback.

25:48 That's going to tell you every single time we drive one of these little Matchbox car
25:51 things but until next time, take it easy.
