00:00 [INAUDIBLE]
00:08 Sean, when did you realize that there was something really
00:13 wrong with your shoulder?
00:14 It's really hard to say.
00:18 I guess-- I mean, I felt something pretty much
00:23 towards the end of the first quarter.
00:27 Did I have time?
00:28 I kind of recognized something was wrong.
00:29 But during the midst of the game,
00:33 I was just pushing through whatever I was feeling.
00:37 And then after the game, and Monday and Tuesday,
00:40 we got testing done.
00:42 And that's when I found out from the doctors
00:44 that it was something worse than what we thought it was.
00:48 Sean, can you go through your emotions
00:50 now that this news is settling in,
00:52 you're going to be out for this season,
00:54 and not be able to finish it with the team?
00:56 [SILENCE]
01:09 I mean, it's very tough.
01:13 Heard about it.
01:20 But I'm going to make sure I keep my head above water
01:24 and make sure I stay in touch with all the guys
01:26 and support them as much as I possibly can
01:30 and attack this rehab process after surgery
01:35 and make sure that I'm doing whatever
01:37 I can to be beneficial for the team
01:41 while not actually been on the field with them
01:44 and also prepping for the next year.
01:49 Do you know exactly what hit it was?
01:51 I have no idea.
01:53 Do you know?
01:55 I'm not even sure.
01:56 We've been trying to figure that out, too,
01:58 the last couple of days.
02:00 And it could have been any one of those hits at the time.
02:04 Like I said, I was, of course, feeling something.
02:06 But in the midst of a game and with everything going on,
02:11 I was just trying to lock in on the next play
02:14 to try to get the victory.
02:15 Do you know when you have surgery?
02:19 I think it's sometime next week, if I'm not mistaken.
02:21 Are you completely 100% confident that this
02:24 has nothing to do whatsoever with your previous shoulder
02:28 injury?
02:29 I have no idea.
02:31 I'm not sure.
02:33 I found out all of this information yesterday.
02:36 So yeah, I'm still trying to process
02:40 everything that's going on.
02:42 So just like everyone else coming in Monday,
02:44 I thought just banged up a little bit
02:47 and we'd get ready for Pittsburgh.
02:48 But yesterday was a different story.
02:50 Do you think you would have been able to play
02:52 with your standing ankle injury?
02:55 For sure, yeah.
02:56 That was my mindset.
02:57 I said just coming in, look at the shoulder,
03:01 shoulder will be fine, dealing with whatever we're dealing
03:04 with, and then make sure we focus on the ankle enough
03:07 so I can go out there and perform.
03:09 But it took a different turn.
03:11 Sean, you're probably in the process,
03:14 but what have they told you about the rehab and recovery
03:16 with what you're facing over the next couple of months?
03:19 Yeah, it's going to be a couple of months.
03:20 And biggest thing is mobility and just the range of motion.
03:26 And then the strength and stuff will work out.
03:28 But I'm going to be working with some great doctors
03:32 and great staff that's dealt with this process before,
03:35 with a lot of professional baseball guys,
03:38 and make sure that I come back even better than before.
03:42 Are you aware of any quarterbacks
03:43 who have gone through this injury and come back?
03:47 Um, not right now.
03:50 Not this particular injury.
03:52 I have no idea.
03:53 Maybe there's someone, but I'm not sure.
03:55 Sean, how frustrating is it?
03:56 It seems like every time you seem
03:58 to be turning the corner, Tennessee game, the Baltimore
04:01 game, you sort of kind of run into one of these roadblocks.
04:04 How frustrating is that?
04:06 Is that bad?
04:07 You know, it's very frustrating.
04:08 But hey, it's part of life.
04:12 And what I've been able to deal with in my 28 years of my life
04:19 is just another stone that's in the way.
04:21 And I have faith in myself and my Lord
04:27 that I'm going to overcome it.
04:29 So I'm going to be straight.
04:33 I'm going to get through it for sure.
04:34 Sean, the way you're talking, I mean,
04:35 it sounds like you're surprised that this injury is
04:38 the extent that it is.
04:38 Were you in disbelief when they told you?
04:40 And now, I guess?
04:42 Yeah, I'm still in disbelief.
04:43 I'm still, as I said, just trying
04:46 to process all the information that I've
04:49 been getting since last night.
04:52 It's tough.
04:54 I felt like we were turning a corner to really make a run.
04:57 And I still believe we still will,
05:00 with the guys in this locker room.
05:02 I just wanted to be physically a part of it,
05:04 on the field with those guys.
05:06 And six weeks, I was down and tried to come back.
05:09 And two weeks later, I got it again.
05:13 So yeah, it's tough to try to wrap everything around my head
05:19 right now.
05:20 Sean, Andrew said that you tried really hard,
05:23 after being diagnosed with a shoulder,
05:26 that you tried hard to kind of--
05:30 wanting to play through the rest of the season.
05:32 How hard did you push for that?
05:33 And how disappointing was it when
05:35 you found out you couldn't cover?
05:37 I mean, I pushed very hard for it,
05:40 to the point where all the experts and doctors
05:45 was the ones that told me that it was no chance.
05:49 So I pushed as far as I possibly could to get back out there
05:54 and just try to play and try to push it
05:56 towards after the season.
05:57 But I think the best situation for, I guess,
06:01 longevity in my career is just to be
06:03 able to get immediate surgery.
06:06 And that's what all the experts said.
06:08 So I got to follow their footsteps and go from there.
06:12 Sean, how important is it going to be for you,
06:14 after you get through the process,
06:16 to be back here with your teammates and around the team
06:18 as you kind of get yourself through it as well?
06:21 Yeah, it's going to be very important to get back around
06:24 here and be around the guys.
06:26 But I've already had a lot of guys
06:27 telling me wherever I'm rehabbing and training at,
06:31 they're going to come out there and spend some time with me,
06:35 which is pretty dope.
06:36 So we're going to have that bond.
06:38 The connection is going to always be there.
06:40 My phone is going to always be on live for those guys.
06:42 And they know they can call me or pull up on me any time
06:48 that they get free.
06:49 Sean, the team is 6-3.
06:51 Who do you think is best suited to take your place?
06:54 You said the what?
06:55 The team is 6-3 right in it.
06:57 Who do you think is the best candidate to replace you now?
07:01 Whoever's in that stand up.
07:04 Anybody that's going to be able to step in and perform.
07:08 So Kevin and those guys are going
07:10 to make sure we're ready to go.
07:12 And they're going to be ready to perform and take this team as
07:16 far as we need to go.
07:17 I know we're going to be right here, Sean,
07:18 but how confident are you that you'll be able to come back
07:21 and be the player you think you should be?
07:22 I'm very confident.
07:24 Very confident.
07:26 Very confident in the doctors that it's
07:28 going to be doing the surgery and the rehab.
07:30 And I'm very confident in my rehab and my mindset
07:33 and my determination to get back strong.
07:36 Do you have any idea when you're going
07:37 to be able to throw a football again?
07:41 It depends on everything.
07:43 Maybe hopefully in two months, three months.
07:46 So it's more of the-- oh, I'm sorry.
07:47 I didn't catch you.
07:48 I just-- the pain that you're feeling,
07:50 is it more frustration internally
07:53 because you're not allowed to play?
07:54 Or are you physically feeling like, hey,
07:56 if I had to throw a football right now,
07:58 I probably could?
07:59 I mean, it's both.
08:00 I mean, it's very painful.
08:02 The whole second half is painful to throw a football.
08:05 It's a bone that's fractured in my shoulder.
08:08 So no type of medicine or anything
08:12 is going to stop the pain from that.
08:14 But it's just frustrating all around,
08:17 just not being able to play and just the injuries.
08:19 But I can't control certain injuries.
08:22 And from what the experts told me, that certain injury
08:26 and then the high hyperspraying is
08:28 things that happens with everybody in the game.
08:31 We'll take last one here.
08:32 What do you think that you showed people Sunday
08:35 against the Ravens, coming out going 14 for 14,
08:39 had a broken shoulder, high hyperspraying,
08:41 going out the biggest game of the season,
08:44 a place where you guys never win?
08:47 I just want to win.
08:50 That's all I was focused on, just winning.
08:52 I didn't care how we did it.
08:54 Whatever we need to do to turn that game around and to win
08:58 and leave everything out there on the field.
09:01 And that's what I was focusing on.
09:03 Are you comforted at all with the knowledge
09:06 that it kind of went out like that on such a joyous moment
09:12 for your teammates and your fans?
09:16 I mean, yeah, it was good.
09:17 It was cool.
09:18 But the ultimate goal is that Super Bowl.
09:22 So I won't have that opportunity.
09:24 But my teammates got the opportunity.
09:26 And I pray and know that they do whatever
09:29 they can to get that ultimate goal.
09:32 And I'll be right there, right there to support them
09:36 and boost them up, hype them up.
09:39 So the win was awesome.
09:41 But the ultimate goal was to try to go all the way.
09:46 Thank you.
09:46 Thank you, Mr. Travis.
