00:00 >> Yeah, I think the biggest thing,
00:05 I think one is I think just having
00:10 more trust I think early on.
00:15 I feel like sometimes as a whole we try to ease into the game a little bit and
00:20 feel that but I feel like at this point in the season, we know what we have.
00:25 And I feel like we need to use all those banked up reps that we have just to come
00:30 out fast and I think just trust in each other, trust in the work that we put in.
00:35 And I think if we do that, I think we'll start firing a little bit earlier because
00:40 I think once we get to that second half, it's when things get going.
00:44 [BLANK_AUDIO]
00:54 >> Yeah, I feel like especially against Rutgers,
00:59 I mean they played a lot of too high,
01:03 obviously trying to keep everything underneath.
01:08 And on that drive that you're talking about when we got to the second and
01:11 19, I think we put together a few nice plays, picked up some first downs and
01:14 then they sent a good pressure and then picked up a sack and knocked us back.
01:17 And anytime you're in second and 19, that's an uphill battle at that point.
01:22 And I think the mindset there, if the shot's there, take it.
01:26 But if not, just do a good job of checking them down,
01:29 understanding that they want you to take a shot in that situation to create a turnover.
01:35 And I think just he's done a really good job of just coaching me in moments like
01:39 that with the play call, understanding what he's trying to do as well.
01:42 [BLANK_AUDIO]
01:52 Yeah, I mean, obviously, you wanna score in every drive.
01:56 But I think at the college football level, you gotta understand defenses are good.
02:01 And if they make a big play and kind of set you off schedule,
02:05 I think you have to do a good job of managing it, like you said, and
02:09 not losing the game, cuz in the grand scheme of things, in the moment, it sucks.
02:14 And you're like, damn, we just wasted a drive.
02:16 But at the same time, you're gonna, especially their defense,
02:19 get the ball back and be right back to where you wanna be.
02:22 >> Kyle, how much calmer do you feel right now, though, in the pocket?
02:25 Like you said, you could have done something crazy when that blitz came, but
02:29 you ate the football as the old saying goes.
02:31 How much calmer are you in the pocket than you were even like five or
02:34 six weeks ago, do you feel?
02:36 >> Yeah, I mean, I think anytime you take two years and you're not starting,
02:41 you're not getting hit like that, and you're kind of a little bit,
02:46 I wouldn't say out of it, but you're just not taking those physical hits on your body.
02:53 I think it takes a game or two to kind of get back in that rhythm.
02:57 And obviously, at this level, the guys are bigger, stronger, faster.
03:00 So I think you just have to understand, in situations like that,
03:03 in situations like that, present themselves, just do a good job of taking care of the ball.
