00:00 All right, what an exciting finish to a game.
00:05 You know, kind of somewhat of an LSU, you know,
00:08 feel seemed like we were in command
00:10 and then let it slip away there.
00:12 We get it back at the end.
00:15 Going out and scoring 75 yard drive
00:17 and then blocking it at the end.
00:21 I give our players a lot of credit.
00:23 I know that team went up and was only five and three,
00:26 but we saw everyone's got some great players.
00:29 Credit Dan and him for coming back.
00:32 Had a game that was headed one direction.
00:35 And we actually scored, what, 21-0
00:38 and have a holding at a ten-point turnaround
00:42 on the block field goal,
00:43 and stick it in the field goal and give them seven.
00:45 So just really proud of the way our guys battled.
00:51 You know, it's one thing to just go down
00:53 and miss the short field goal.
00:54 I thought our guys did a good job of holding them there.
00:58 But to a longer field goal, and one of these days,
01:01 I actually catch the ball when they throw it to us.
01:03 [Laughter]
01:06 So, and good play, good push at the end there.
01:10 And Harris hit the block.
01:15 Playing another big day for Jacksonville,
01:16 our 387 through the air, two touchdowns.
01:19 Just another big day, and just talk about it.
01:23 Yeah, I mean, he has no cover on us.
01:24 So I'll tell you how it is.
01:26 It would be hard on players.
01:29 I thought he was fabulous today.
01:31 Again, that is -- there's statistics in there
01:34 where that's the best defense in the country.
01:36 I mean, negative plays, sacks, you know,
01:40 third down, third in the country.
01:41 So that's a really hard defense to play at that level of game.
01:46 And, you know, and take care of the ball at the same time, too.
01:52 They just shut up that way.
01:53 And you can see why you can do all those things,
01:55 and still it goes down to the wire.
01:57 So awesome, awesome game by him.
02:01 And obviously, Trey showed up today,
02:03 and that was kind of where we thought, you know,
02:07 the matchup was that would help us in our favor.
02:11 Because inside, obviously, people really struggle with them.
02:14 You know, it was just a way to try to go one-on-one outside.
02:17 So it takes Jackson making throws,
02:19 and Trey making some great plays.
02:21 Second half, Ole Miss had much more success,
02:24 especially kind of running the ball.
02:25 Was there anything y'all noticed, maybe,
02:27 they changed that y'all saw from that halftime?
02:30 Not really. I think they just, you know, made plays.
02:32 I mean, that's just part of the game.
02:34 And they got really good linemen.
02:37 Max is very competitive and makes,
02:39 you know, crunch plays for them.
02:41 And, you know, a weak receiver,
02:43 a little guy that's hard to tackle.
02:45 So they did a great job in the return game.
02:47 I think they had a yard kickoff return,
02:49 four yards upon return.
02:50 So we won in that area, especially because,
02:54 obviously, giving them the field goal block for a touchdown
02:57 was huge because the game seemed to be dramatically
03:01 going in our direction in all areas
03:03 both side of the ball at that point.
03:05 And you mentioned the momentum swings
03:07 with the whole big club on the touchdown.
03:09 Gabby has what looks like the game-saving pick
03:11 that gets overturned.
03:13 In those moments, how did you keep your composure
03:15 and keep focused on the next play?
03:18 I saw him follow it. I still celebrate with him.
03:21 Just hope that somehow he did.
03:22 [laughter]
03:24 Well, I'm confident he celebrated already.
03:26 I'm going to give it to him.
03:28 So our success or debuse is not real high.
03:31 [laughter]
03:33 Trey had one earlier, you know,
03:35 that could have ended the game.
03:38 You know, you guys hear me talk about
03:40 everything happens for a reason.
03:41 You know, it didn't seem very good at the time,
03:43 but, you know, makes you come together
03:45 and block the field goal to win it.
03:47 So it's a special team's chance to win it.
03:51 When you did another game,
03:52 you guys trailed in the fourth quarter.
03:54 This time, kind of late in the game,
03:55 but you come back and win.
03:56 What does it say about the scheme,
03:59 where your program has gotten to?
04:00 These are games that probably last season
04:02 you didn't get away from.
04:03 This year, you're winning all of them.
04:05 Yeah, I think it says a lot about the team.
04:08 I'm also, like, the thing I'm the coach,
04:10 doesn't say, "Okay, well, you know,
04:12 they have a field goal to win the game
04:14 and drive all the way down."
04:15 And as the chips go out, I'm going to sit here
04:16 and say how resilient we are.
04:18 You know, I really do think our players
04:20 played really well today, overcame adversity in areas.
04:24 You know, it's unusual to have a 10-point sling on one play.
04:27 So I just thought a lot of credit to them
04:30 how they handled it, handled the way it came.
04:32 And I really do feel like that offense knew --
04:36 our offense knew they were going to score.
04:38 It was actually like, "Don't score too fast."
04:41 I mean, it was 75 yards away.
04:44 Just the way they broke the sideline huddle
04:46 was like -- and when they scored, like,
04:47 "Okay, guys, we're going to score, you know,
04:50 let's not score too fast."
04:52 So even Jackson came up and was like, "We scored too fast."
04:56 I'm like, "Can you be positive, please?"
04:59 He's like, "They're going to make the kick."
05:01 I'm like, "Be positive."
05:02 So finally, after we did it, he goes,
05:03 "All right, I'll stop being negative."
05:05 [ Laughter ]
05:07 He was watching too much Bobby Knight this week,
05:09 he thought, "I don't have the power of negative thinking."
05:13 [ Laughter ]
05:16 -When your defense stopped Texas A&M four straight times,
05:19 forced four consecutive punts in the first half,
05:21 but then didn't force another punt the rest of the game,
05:24 what exactly happened there?
05:25 -Well, you're not exactly positive.
05:27 [ Laughter ]
05:30 I'm going to hang out with Jackson.
05:32 I mean, your guys are really good players, you know,
05:36 really good running back, good offensive line.
05:40 So they moved the ball on us, and, you know,
05:44 when we first happened,
05:45 we broke some of our own defense there.
05:47 And, you know, I think we --
05:50 It sounds like you can get a little bit spoiled
05:52 with the way that we were playing defense
05:54 against not other National Offenses the last two weeks.
05:59 We have a lot of good players, I know that.
06:02 So this was a more strong offense
06:04 that we faced the last few weeks.
06:06 And so they're going to make some plays.
06:09 -Lane, can you walk us through the blocked kick
06:12 from your perspective?
06:13 How did you see that at the ball?
06:16 -I was just trying to mess with their kicker.
06:19 You can't call back-to-back timeouts anymore.
06:21 You used to be able to.
06:23 So I kind of pretended and said to the ref,
06:27 "Right in front of the kicker, I got one more timeout."
06:29 And I stood by the line judge there like this,
06:32 like trying to get the kicker's attention,
06:34 you know, just to mess with him and whistling,
06:38 you know, to draw his attention on how that worked.
06:40 It's a different play going right now.
06:41 I'm going all the way to the ball again.
06:42 So that's what I was doing.
06:44 I really didn't watch the end of the kick.
06:46 I watched the end. I didn't watch the beginning of the kick.
06:50 I was pretending to mess with him.
06:54 -Darius Thompson seemed like he got a lot more snaps today.
06:57 He was flying up, hauling the field.
06:58 What can you say about his performance today?
07:01 -Yeah, he was great, especially first half,
07:03 making big plays, showing some speed out there
07:06 to catch really the lead fast players that they have.
07:09 So he's one of our favorite guys.
07:13 Just the way that he plays, regardless of how many snaps
07:15 he plays, it's the same.
07:18 -We were told that Machine Young's no longer on the team.
07:20 Can you confirm that?
07:22 And how do you feel about your depth
07:23 in the second half moving forward?
07:25 -Oh, guys stepped up.
07:27 Machine's not part of our program,
07:28 but he's the best.
07:30 And, you know, just trying to get the guys ready to go here.
07:35 -Can you take us through that?
07:36 I think it was the second quarter where Jordan Watkins
07:38 was looked like completely uncovered.
07:40 What happened on that play?
07:42 -Can't have the intent to deceive.
07:48 So Jordan went running off like he was coming off,
07:52 and he stopped before and took a big split behind the ball,
07:56 on our sidelines, and the ball went to Farhash.
07:59 They didn't notice him.
08:00 So we're letting him play by our players.
08:03 I'll let him know.
08:05 And then I think that's when we get the personal bell
08:09 and their players were saying we're number one to me.
08:15 So they got a penalty,
08:18 and then Lucas Colson on two points, which we didn't make.
08:21 But then, luckily, that two-point liner was really big
08:23 because that would have been really not exciting
08:27 for that to be the end of the game there.
08:28 I don't know if he'll go to win playing defense down the stretch.
08:32 -We'll take a question at the top.
08:34 Coach, it seemed no matter if it was a questionable call,
08:37 a big player, just the end of the game,
08:38 you were showing a lot of emotion out there today,
08:41 really excited, a lot of points in the game.
08:43 Just take me through how excited are you for your team
08:46 to be able to get to eight and one
08:48 and go to Georgia next week?
08:49 -I'm excited for them, excited for our fans.
08:54 I just thought our guys had a really good week of practice.
08:57 I was a little concerned.
08:58 I hadn't played a lot of early-kick games.
09:01 So just trying to, myself, bring a lot of energy to them today
09:05 and make sure our players were excited.
09:08 So I was kind of emotional on some plays or whatever.
09:13 Just there was also excitement, too, in that.
09:14 And that's a really hard defense to score against
09:17 and move the ball against.
09:18 So, you know, maybe the players feed off that.
09:24 -Lane, you might have had some fans
09:27 a little nervous in this game,
09:28 but can you talk about just how difficult it really is
09:31 in the SEC to go eight and one and week in and week out,
09:34 play these tough games and tough opponents?
09:36 -Yeah.
09:38 Totally like the cardiac kids or something,
09:40 the way that our players play
09:42 and take you down to the wire in these games.
09:45 So it's good to be at home, too.
09:49 I thought our crowd was really good in the first half.
09:52 And, you know, with a couple false starts also.
09:58 -Big boy, Boyle, top.
10:00 You mentioned the fans.
10:01 Let's talk about how it has really turned around this year.
10:04 The Vought was full in the fourth quarter.
10:06 Those last two seconds, they seemed to have hope in your team.
10:09 How does that make you feel as head coach?
10:12 -Oh, good.
10:13 I mean, you kind of like when the player plays good.
10:15 We kind of expect that.
10:16 I hope that, you know, these type of games
10:19 get people excited and whatever.
10:21 Send it, go eight and one.
10:23 It's pretty cool.
10:24 And that's a lot of --
10:26 I can't remember the ninth game, two or something.
10:30 It's really neat.
10:31 And then undefeated, undefeated SEC home schedule this season.
10:38 So a lot of cool memories to share here.
